If they do sell minteh, which I don’t agree with they need a 50% sell on and a buy back at the price we sell for !!

No one ever gets a buy back price of what they recieved in the sale. That would basically be us loan the player to the buying club and receiving a loan of £40m in exchange.
Plus if there's a 50% sell on surely that means we could buy him back for a cost of £20m
If we do we'll regret it.

I refuse to think that Minteh might not shine in the prem. The lad is a quality all-round. He will cause defenders problems with his dribbling and and pace. The lad has champions league experience and scored a goal. Imagine how effective he would be playing with our boys up front....scary. I will be so sad if we sell him 😮
Sean Longstaff 5th most goals in the premier league for a central midfielder. Never stops running and would run through a wall for the toon. That was a bad season! You guys need to give your head a shake.

Agreed on Longstaff mate. Everyone was moaning cos Bruno wasn’t the same when Longstaff wasn’t in the team not so long ago, and the fact he was having injections playing through pain shows the commitment he’s got and he still managed to score 8 goals. He’s always available and never injured Id get rid of Willock who’s always injured instead it’s a no brainer

Longstaff was overplayed with an injury that made him look bad. Despite that he scored eight goals and gave it his all. You hit it on the head, he had to play with no rotation.

Selling our talented young players is something we’ll have to get used to as this is where the money comes from. However, I think we”ll be doing this AFTER we have a ‘proper’ squad. We still have too many le grand Michelle’s bargain basement buys and Rafas diamonds as players in the squad at the moment.

I would agree to cash in Minteh now. It’s 50/50 situation while it’s no much unknown. He could be good for us or he could be shit. Yeah he was great in Feyenoord last season but Premier League is a different story. Also don’t forget Feyenoord will be in Champions League next season. He could be forcing to leave anytime. We could be losing that 40m if we push to keep him. I don’t think to cash in from him is a disaster.

I’d wait until we actually get an offer for him before we get riled up about it. That said, 40m is an outrageous amount that we’d have to seriously consider, given this is a player who probably still needs another loan before he’s ready for regular EPL football

Minteh, for me is 100% a Newcastle player. He looks perfect for our style. He looks exciting and can score. He reminds me of an ASM player but can back it up a bit more.
People forget how good willcock can be when fit and to be fair he’s not injured half as much as Wilson he can’t be replaced (willock) for less then 45-50 million longstaff is priced at 15 million if Newcastle were to try to buy same type of player not even think of 15 million so I’d keep longstaff for a squad player

I don't think we should look at longstaffs 15m as far as replacement is concerned, but to the ffp situation. Not knowing what's going on makes it difficult, but if we need the money, we need the money. I'd rather it longstaff than Minteh. Plus, I doubt we'll get enough for Wilson and miggy.
That being said, if we don't gotta sell, I'd say keep all the live long day
Eventually Man Utd will have to cough up a fair wedge for Ashworth, Almiron, Wilson, Trippier and the combined salaries saved from the players released will bring in more than enough to bring in the players Eddie wants. The problem will be the Chelseas marching in and somehow considering that they are on the verge of facing FFP breach charges outbid us on salary.

Selling Longstaff for £15 million enables us to buy someone for £60M with amortisation.
Longstaff book value will be zero, the other lad will be 23+m profit, ffp, it's either that or Bruno/isak
leicesters ffp issues were for last season. given it's over a 3 year period it's entirely possible they have the funds this season now they're in the prem.

I still think longstaff engines are important in the team. Minteh should stay and given the chance to run in first team, the reasons are simple. He play UCL well and did well in league and cup run, he might need time to gel but shouldn't be long. It is a bit bullshit how news is delivered nowadays. The player that nufc should be an immediate priority should be a 3rd young striker and goalkeeper. Additional might be left back plus a central defender. Those who could sell are callum and miggy should replacements could be found. But if selling callum, I hope nufc get the right person. It hard to get someone who played like him, those who are like him are all over budget. I will suggest keeping him and find the next *Minteh value younger people who are hungry😂. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

The out in the open facts of this whole FFP charade, perpetuated by Sky sports, is that there has not been an offer made by Liverpool, so the amount is made up. The list of clubs who have to sell to avoid punishment has not been published by the Premier League or the details of how much, so everything is guesswork by journalists. Chelsea, who are (reportedly) one of six clubs on this unpublished list are still buying like there is no tomorrow, meanwhile Newcastle have to decide which of their gems they have to offload, and this is the bit that makes its soooo incredible is the destination of these prize players, namely Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool!, the very cartel that is telling the Premier League what buttons to press and what rules to enforce. I hope that the owners have a bit more about themselves, and push back against these rules that make it impossible for any team to break into the top tier of the top tier.

I really hope we keep Minteh but sell other players to satisfy whatever the Premier League ask us to do. I find it highly unfair given the state of our club upon our new owners coming in. Surely given the state of our club and the position we found ourselves it was inevitable we needed to invest heavily in the squad and we needed to recruit and rebuild not be penalised for doing so
