( I BELIEVE ) THIS IS ENOUGH.
PRINTS, AUDIO , PICTURE?
ALOT OF NOTHING THEN A BIG UNEXPECTED BREAK THROUGH.
10 months of searching and have I now found proof?

I saw what was probably a puma on the outskirts of Ashford in Kent, only about 150 meters from the 3 Chimneys Pub at about 7pm in the summer of 2001. It was slinking along next to the long grass in front of the wood opposite the pub before disapeering back into the wood. Numerous people saw it, as we were alerted to it by people pointing.
My dad seen a Black Cat in Worcester back in the 90s , he popped out for a fag break at work and it was about 10ft away . He said " he'd never been so scared in all his life " ✌️💯
"My dad" yerrrr of course mate 😅
I do believe there are big cats out there a few people have seen one a few times in Dumfries in Scotland they said it look very like a panther
I've been living in rural East Sussex for the last 25 years and I've had 2 very clear sightings of an American mountain lion (puma/cougar animal of fawn / tan colour). I don't go out looking for them and I'm not what you might call a fanatic by any stretch. However, I do spend a large proportion of every day in the countryside (because that's where I live) and I guess its a matter of probability that eventually you get see them if they are around. One of my sightings lasted 5 minutes, it was sitting at the end of my garden about 150' from my kitchen window watching me doing the washing up. It then got up and walked a leisurely 80' giving me a perfect side view before disappearing down a bank. The sighting was so clear, I could see the banding on the tail and the end which was kinked at the tip. This kinking I now understand to be quite a common genetic feature. My wife and daughter had a separate shared sighting, one ran in front of their car while they were driving 20mph down a nearby lane. My neighbour came across another lying in the road while jogging very early one morning. Of course, this could be the same animal, although my 2 sightings were 7 miles and 8 years apart. The High Weald offers a perfect environment, plenty of wild prey, great cover as the county is 20% wooded, 6500 acres of the Ashdown Forest and the remaining farmland is very lightly farmed if at all. I can see what might have attracted owners of exotic pets to release their animals in this area during the 70's rather than comply with the DWAA legislation.
afreind of mine goes wildcamping also nitehikes .Dartmore one nite he was pathingalong and something was following he turned round two bright yellow eyes ! ttfn&ty
I lived in East Sussex for 35 years but have now moved back to East Yorkshire. I was often out in the Battle area watching badgers, listening to nightingales, counting glow-worms, etc. One night on an old railway line something started snarling at me from up on the embankment. Something like I've never heard before in the English countryside. A vicious snarling from the bushes at the top. I snarled back and this went on for maybe a minute or so then it moved through the bushes and away. Then there was several sightings of big cats in the area over the years. Always the same -- black, size of a labrador but low-slung like a cat. Lots of other things I could say then the Rye and Battle Observer did an article stating 'Spate of Big Cat sightings in Battle.' I wanted to put trail cameras out and stay in a nearby pub but never got round to it.
Thanks for your encounter.
I know the Rye area very well I spent alot of time down that way as a teenager and was always over the nature reserve.
There is a beautiful couple of lakes there we use to fish weekends .
Grateful of the encounters
😂😂😂😂 and still no evidence anywhere from anyone
@@RoughWalkers I must stop my Black Labrador going out on his own.
When I was about 17 I witnessed a huge black cat chasing a deer across a field with a friend beside Muddy Rut, above Throxemby Mere in Scarbrough, only a stones throw in front of us. We were the other side of the field gate and didn't stick around to see if the pounce it performed onto the deer as it reached the edge of the field was successful or not, we bolted as fast as our bikes would go. It took seconds to get from one side to the other chasing the deer and there wasn't much of a difference in size between them.
Also when I was a little older I saw big cat paw prints along the cinder track from Scarbrough to Whitby and in particular when I worked on Rocket Post field at Robin Hoods bay, lots of big fresh paw prints without claw marks along the cinder track there, and the farmer we were doing the job for said he didn't know anything about big cats but something had killed and pulled his sheep up trees.
My wife has seen a big black cat sat in the mouth of Llanhydrock Estate car park in Bodmin on a return along rural roads from work in her car in the early hours one day last year, she slowed and saw it clearly, it's reaction to the headlights was to stand up and saunter away.
We live 10 minutes from there in a little village and at the bottom of the community gardens in our village, in a dense valley way beyond any cut out paths, our children and myself were exploring and found a full adult deer carcass up a tree, only missing the head and a few bones which were layed nearby, old and now greening I was fairly confident whatever had put it there had done so a while ago, still it seemed as good a reason as any for us all to leave.
I had heard the possibility of the closing of untaxable travelling circuses, I think as early as the 20's or 30's, meant there were animals just set free. I once had a holiday where the local deer we saw were identified by the groundskeeper as Chinese deer and were wild in the forest we stayed in, a result of a closed down Chinese circus locally many decades before he said. This and an exotic pet licence being introduced were just some of the reasons I heard behind them being here today, which with the amount of people witnessing these extremely elusive animals would suggest there is definitely an undeniable, surviving population of large black cats in the UK.
This is really great stuff you have got.
I like the way you have kept it all in a good order of telling it aswell.
Thank you very much for taking the time to put that all across to everyone with the facts and points made.
Good stuff there 👍🏻
Thankyou for sharing your experiences and insights.....I agree with a travelling circus being the origional source, think the one that came here was Russian with live animals, if they had elephants then they had bears and big cats for sure.
With an abundant food source of dear and farmers sheep to choose from a small wild population of puma could be sustained and somewhat un detected.
I kinda like it that way.....many know they are here but do we want flocks of human sheep to go trudging across our moorlands looking for them 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 food for thought
With only limited "safe resting places" for a breeding female to hide and give birth I don't honestly think it would be impossible to track them down, in winter with snow on the ground you wouldn't miss one leaving its lair to go hunting.
Curious with the carcuss in the trees, more akin to leopard 🐆 behaviour 🤔 😳 😅 will look into if pumas tend to do this too?????
@@welcome2thewoodsukgood vid 👍guessing you brought a chunk of woods to put the cabin on, fair shout.....iam green with envy.
We have a population of wild puma in all three of our main moorlands in the South west for sure with limited lairs to sustain a growing population......alough one day inevitable when a hiker becomes "lunch" or a farmer shoots one for attacking his livestock, iam not sure revealing 100% evidence of their existance is a good thing 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
After all we all know what the health and safety police are like on this island 🙄😒 I would not want this to lead to a hunt and cull of this fantastic wild cat population.....there is a reason we don't have wolfs in this country, same inevitable fate for the big cats if found out 🤔😔 food for thought my friend.
British bushcraft, edible wild whatever, how to survive in the uk would be a huge hit 🤔👍 more people than you think would be glued to that
Melanistic black leopards are often referred to as pumas. Not the case. Me and my brother off pigeon shooting in full camo and facepaint went out one morning early doors. Stealth mode. The wind was obviously on our side. We saw the leopard from 12 feet away. I know what we saw. My grandad from the other the orchard had been seeing unidenfied stuff too. Croome Court is just up the road with many sightings. Inkberrow near by. Many sighting there. The speed of the thing was awesome when it clocked us. Muscular. Shiny black, and low slung with a massive long tail is a thing I shall never forget. Along with my brother. I was into hunting at the time, and could identify poos. I said to my dad what's this? Probably a goose! In hindsight years later I should taken a sample. I was 12. My brother 9. We know what we saw. Ask farmers and fisherman. The people who are out at all hours of the day. Its flecking real! I love ya channel BTW. ❤️
@treborybrad thank you very much for sharing your sighting and other information.
Interesting subject that's pulled me right in.
I have spent alot more time on this now and coming into the winter period I'm hoping to get more videos up.
I have had a few more things come up that will be up for debate.
My camps have become more involved since, and can't always guarantee filming to commence as it should.
There is being silent as possible and there is also engaging with the camer for the viewers.
A extremely difficult balance in this sort of investigation.
I'm out on a hunting trip at the moment I left yesterday morning.
Got the NVGs so when the rifle is not in action the cams will be lol.
Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Meticulous. If anyone’s going to catch a big cat on camera, it’ll be someone like you. Subbed 👍🏼✨
And yet its 2024 and no evidence of it
Fantastic work. Very well done. Thank you so much for making this film documentary. I live in south west Scotland and have seen 2 black panthers and a puma all of them in day light and by sheer coincidence. The black panther sightings were in 84 and 98 and the puma was 2009 all within an 8 mile radius. I have spoken to many people around this area who also have seen them. One guy i spoke with says he seen a black panther hunting a fox. These creatures are without doubt out there. I have just subscribed to your channel. Thank you i really enjoyed your film.
Thank you ever so much for your kind thoughts towards my channel it means alot.
Thanks for sharing your sightings aswell, no way any one can disagree with this sort of sighting.
Also I love Scotland with a great passion.
Love visiting your country an I have scotish heritage.
Thanks so much 🙏🏻
There is definitely big cats here in the uk myself and my daughter saw one it run in front of my car and in to a field where myself my daughter and a farmer who had stop to watch it he said he had been following it a cross his field’s it was a puma and this was in Oxfordshire so yes there are big cats here 🐆🐅
A fabulous channel, you deserve far more subscribers than you have, hope they grow quickly for you. Those cats are NOT a dog they are large Felines, some of the naysayers are not going to be statisfied until a large cat walks into a Barcleys Bank and leaves its name and address !!!!!!
Just found the channel and going to have a browse. This video was impressive and, while I know zilch about big cats, those castes look like big cat prints to me. I don't know if you've tried yet but have you heard of Cannock Chase in Staffordshire? Theres all sorts of BS spouted about the place (ghosties and big foots (or is it 'feet' lol?...black eyed kids etc etc). Thats all rubbish but at 26 square miles of woodland there is a chance of a big cat there. If you research it remember, theres a load of BS talked about the area. The ghost hunters love faking stuff up there, I'll sub and take a mooch around.
Nice to have you hear mate 👍🏻.
Yeah it's a area I've looked at and possibly might go up and have a look if I can get somewhere to camp up for a few nights.
Yeah the other stuff I'm not sure about but big cats I'm almost 100%.
Thanks for watching 👍🏻
My pal swears he had one run into his bivy why he was fishing in Snodland about 15 years ago
Where I lived in Cornwall we kept Shetland Pony's we found prints on a regular basis and on one occasion a clear sighting of a Puma. Also a local lorry driver reported to the police a clear sighting of a Puma like cat crossing the road in front of him, prompting a response by a r.v and helicopter police and several other units. My neighbour was walking the dog and caught sight of one dogs came back to him and wouldn't leave his side. They are out there!
Was that up by Nanpean?
@@mandypriest2985 yes, Currian vale.
I remember reading something about that a few years ago. Thanks for replying 🙂
Excellent work you will find what your looking for because I’ve seen a big cat in broad day light out of a train window and will treasure my sighting for the rest of my life
Thank you very much my friend.

Great documentary Karl. Keep being positive, as a wildlife photographer it’s a lonely hobby sometimes, you’re looking for something even more elusive. There’s approximately 260,000 foxes in the UK, most people don’t see one from one year to the next. We live backing onto farmland, and, we keep chickens. I’ve only seen one fox in the garden, and see one approx every 6/8 months. Most evenings I drive through a lane through farmland, I’ve seen lots over the years but those things are common UK species, a big cat is something on another level.
I’m subscribing, it’s great seeing the younger generation still interested in the things I did growing up 👍
You are spot on mate that's a good evaluation of it.
It's the same as the mink and badger aswell.
Also up the Highlands they have Scottish wild cats and Martin, no one ever sees them either hardly.
Thanks for the boost up in confidence it really helps mate 👍🏻
@@welcome2thewoodsukYou’re welcome. I forgot to add, the screeching noise, it’s just a deer barking. Not a very scary animal, but alone in the woods in the middle of the night it’s a very un-nerving sound 😂😂😂
I am confident that big cats are spreading the length of the UK and breeding having seen a black cat near Birmingham on the road between Hampton on Arden and meridian just outside Hampton in broad daylight early evening (7ish) and it is seen around the area regularly.
Ok so when i lived in scotland on a farm, one evening we were out culling and roughly 100 yards away from us a black cat appeared. It sat and faced us we could clearly see from the eye reflection it was a cat and its sillouette was extremely black panther like and it was just turning dusk. We ran as at that point we had no idea if it would try to come after us which of course it would not, but i have never been so freaked out in my entire life. This was roughly 35 years ago around 84 to 85.
There was an item in the news recently about fur caught on barbed wire near a dead sheep carcass, the fur was analysed and it was big cat probably puma fur as it was black. Sightings also reported on Dartmoor and the downs on Isle of Wight!
That's correct I've seen this pop up from different sources.
Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Seen a black leopard in a corn field in East Yorkshire. Clear as day in Broad day light .
All creatures (including humans) will learn to survive in an alien environment. Secondly, how many of us go out wandering during the dark hours of night, our night vision is very poor at night, there could be creatures moving around that we would be totally unawares of. Good video.
You get them all over the UK and know as different things, Snuck in the North I understand. I used to think they were the result of cat's been released as pets in the 1970's but the folklore of them goes back hundreds of years. Some of the stories they have red glowing eyes.
That sounds like a Puma to me. Not a Fox. Foxes screams are less harsh and spaced out a little more.
Don't forget that big cats when strolling, place their rear pads in the front paw print to keep noise to a minimum.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
I got to be honest so many people said ah it's foxes or badgers even.
I got that said even by a family member.
However I spend days out in the woods and hear the normal all the time.
That was different or I wouldn't of recorded it as I would of looked silly, I try to tell people I'm not a stranger to the woods.
It sure scared me enough to leave that night very quickly.
A zoo keeper no names are allowed to be mentioned, said that last few vocals was a dig cat screaming, so I appreciate you bring this to me aswell.
👍🏻
@@welcome2thewoodsuk I think some people just can't or won't accept that we have these creatures in the UK. But mention Wild Boar or Chinese Water Deer or Wallabies and they accept it!. Very odd.
I have seen 2 Black Leopards, 23 years apart!. Both in the Birmingham area. Unmistakable too!.
@edwardtreadwell3859
Yeah exactly what my point was aswell, all introduced and the same for now the beaver we have down here, have many people seen them?
They was introduced on purpose aswell the beaver.
I was in a place in Scotland about 3 year ago Invergordon at denely lodge.
The pub had a big cat that was shot on the estate stuffed on display.
Cat was a lynx and was shot not so long ago.
It's one of them, people see what they like to see even on a busy street corner mate.
@@edwardtreadwell3859👏🏼
That sounded exactly like the foxes that come and steal my chickens. An old timer told me they can even sound like a baby crying. However, the lynx that my wife disturbed in the pen when putting the birds away at dusk, just yards from her, ran off and cleared an electric fence with ease before diving head first through a hedge, makes a very different noise. A loud, fairly high-pitched scream, usually at midnight till about 2am. We recorded it one night and sent it to our daughter, who was a keeper of the small cat collection at Port Lympne, and she identified it as a lynx. It always came around at November time and would stay till about the New Year. During this time, all the bunnies disappeared. Haven't heard it for 2 years now, presumably something happened to it or it just died. Bunnies have been plentiful to the point of being a nuisance in the garden. Miss it now.
I used to research ABC's in the 90's thay are definitely out there
Lived isle of Skye for 20yrs, never seen myself but good friend's have seen wildcat's which are dog size if you want go find them
Am flabbergasted as to how many people have not recognised that the noise after the fox is clearly a puma , anyone who knows their wildlife knows this.
I stumbled across your video and am a new subscriber. Going through the rest of your videos today. Good work, I'm enjoying your content. You have a good approach to the subjects and your knowledge of a number of areas is impressive. Man after my own heart.😊
My brother saw a black big cat years ago when he was in Norfolk running probs not the best thing to do near a big cat!
20 years ago im convinced i saw one in west Sussex . unfortunately generic black cat ,lots of other sightings around the same time in the area .ive since hoped for a repeat but despite living in the country side with a running dog out at all hours ive failed to repeat it but i am a beliver
i actually saw one near my work driving home at dusk near surrey . ran out in front of my car paused looked at me and ran off towards the lake. while driving home convinced myself it may be normal as i was in rural surrey 😂 told my brother he did some research and told me there were other sightings. no images or videos but what a sight looked me dead in my eyes cat like features big muscular jaw
Hiya, can you tell me roughly what part of Surrey it was, was it the hurtwood area..
And it was black?
I have seen 2 big cats 1 25 years ago on the Isle of Wight when it was tracking my dog and the last time 6 months ago in Essex. The Isle of Wight has loads of sightings
Essex has a load of them mate definitely 👍🏻
Roughly what area of essex? What colour?
East tilbury, I was using night vision on a rabbit hunt so can't confirm colour
That's interesting, I've heard of a sighting at Tilbury Fort and also at Corringham but they were years ago.
@@michaelduberry4797 that's the area tilbury fort just half a mile or so away
Really enjoyed this - I might have to conduct a search on my Dartmoor patch! There's just one thing I kept wondering while watching, though... what would you actually do if you came face to face with one while wandering along those woodland tracks in the dark? 🐯😱
Thank you for watching I appreciate it.
It was a long process I can tell you how many times I nearly gave up going out.
I would definitely if I was you.
To be honest I would like to say I would try my best to stay calm and not turn my back on it, I get asked alot if I would shoot it aswell,,, erm no I wouldn't unless I was going to be eaten.
Definitely try to film it if I wasn't to stressed.
Thanks for your message and good luck 👍🏻
I operate on dartmoor and I have found slaughtered sheep on the Southside about 4 miles from the zoo

Fair shout but I will say at 34 mins thats a dog fox screeching, also sound like baby crying at times, cubs sound like jackles 😅
the print within a print raised my eyebrows as a big cat would place its rear paw in the print of its front paw 🤔 look forward to the month stay in the cabin and video from trail cams.
Judging by my snow bengals paws wich are "big" I would say what you found was "puma size" so keep at it 👍
Before the "dangerous wild animals act" of 1976 it could of been highly possible those with large estates may of kept some form of big cats, or travelling circus not admitting a pair escaped could be worth researching......I know for a fact outside of Bristol the travelling circus made regular visits as they built an elephant bath, I have seen it by a large abandoned (at the time) mansion House.
Take the owner of "longleat" as an example of the wealthy having a taste for exotic animals.
Investigations around dartmoor and exmoor may be more fruitful 🙀 plus hunting for a cave or natural den as cover would be needed for sure, find that and big cats sent Mark a scat mark heavily their resting places within the territory.
Good luck 👍
Wow thanks for this information and taking the time to explain.
Also it's historic value aswell.
The garage up the road from me is rural but the man who owned the garage years ago had a lion out the back.
No joke he had it apparently in a walled enclosure with a open bared front.
I was told by a grandfather and alot of the old locals.
It's easy to belive people let them go or accidentally.
It's interesting to know if you keep cats aswell.
Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Absolutely agree with the above. That's how they got into the wild and have been seen throughout the U.K.. I have seen one myself in North Wales. In fact around the village where I lived there were prolific sightings and I personally know a number of people who have had encounters with large cats in a small area of North Wales. I am a hunter, firearms instructor and bush craft enthusiast. I could show you some places locally and give you some important tips on how to track, move and work stealthy. Great work, very impressive. The sounds you captured were defiantly fox and maybe a dear too. Let me know if you fancy a stalk in North Wales. Good luck and please carry on with your investigation. I know that it can get disheartening as I was a paranormal investigator for many years and it can be boring, hard work with little to show for it but when you get results it's well worth the work that you put in.
@nicfraipont4184 thanks for this great comment.
I really appreciate it.
I definitely would be up for that would be great at some stage.
The audio I'm planning to do a video on its own.
Thanks again
blow me, im born and breed in a small village outside tunny wells, i had never heard of big cats this far south...your pug casts are very credible. respect to you fella
Saw one this year 2024 in a wood in Derbyshire as clear as anything don’t tell many people you know full well they think you miss identified a Cat .
My granddad released his jaguar in Nottingham in 1976
I was also fortunate enough to witness a large cat with my own eyes. Between Inverurie/ Kemnay in N E Scotland (mixed woodland and farmland) about 9 years ago, whilst walking our dog with my ex partner.
A large cat appeared from over a dry stone wall about 100/150 metres ahead of us and walked away from us. The sun had just begun to go down. The scale of the cat was clear as there were round bales of barley straw and we clearly saw the long tail and cat like walk.
When we returned home, we looked online and eventually traced a few reports from the area of sightings which included mutilated sheep carcasses lodged in trees.
I wanted to approach the area to look for tracks but my ex point blank refused ....
Another great account 👌🏻
Thanks for sharing it.
I've had multiple emails since the video has gone up.
Photos of kills and places to visit.
Should be a good year hopefully.
Thank you for watching and for your encounter
I have also seen a big black panther.....was driving from clinterty heading towards blackburn and i see it running through a field. This was in 2018 i have been obsessed ever since.....good to know im not crazy 😂😂
@@remoskys8919 that gives me the fear as the amount of times ive been out cycling by myself in Kirkhill forest!!
i seen something once in a similar area there, near the inver roundabout (not thainstone but the second one heading into inverurie), was a big black animal size of a large dog but had a huge tail far away in a field (would of also been between inver/kemnay actually!). This was around 12 years ago
We definitely have more than one type of big cat living and breeding here. I've had two experiences that I'm 100% sure of what I saw and a few more that I'm not sure about. The two I'm sure about one was a big black cat and the other one was smaller with a long bushy tale. All the farmers around here know they are here but keep it quiet as they don't seem to pray on the farm animals and possibly are even beneficial in keeping other problematic species in check
Iv had 2 sightings in Scotland,
Thay are 100% out there !
I'm in South Wales and I've known of numerous sightings locally over the past 40 years. Last year i was walking my dog and i turned a corner to see a big long black tail vanish into the undergrowth. Imo they are the least of our worries as had other encounters in the wilderness i simply cannot explain
You can't leave it at that! You have to tell us what else you've experienced!
@@dperson9212 I've had big sticks/small logs and stones thrown at me when I was dog walking up a mountain, it was about midnight so it wasn't any kids messing about. I lit the area up with 30/40000 lumens and there was nothing there but the sticks kept coming. I've experienced growls coming from something a lot bigger than myself, I've also been trailed many times but never see anything. I've seen trees 70ft tall bent into a huge arch in inaccessible areas to man. In all my encounters my dog has shown real fear and he doesn't fear anything known to us, I listened to him as he knows something I don't.
Me & my wife saw a Lynx next to a hedgerow in a farmers field in Worcestershire. She even said herself she wouldn't have beleived me of she didn't see it with her own eyes. It was about 50m away clear as day, we watched it for about 7 seconds. Absolutely beautiful
Fantastic and very lucky mate
about 40 years ago in cumbernauld just outside Glasgow there is a field which is part of the medieval Cumbernauld house 'now luxury flats' grounds. anyway my auld man was walking the family Alsatian there one morning and swears he seen a big cat most probably a puma. it walked across the field about 100 yards from him. the dog 'keema' was going tonto but would not approach it.....the cat itself gave my auld man and the dog a nonchalant glance before disappearing into the glen. my auld man was so convinced he went straight to the local cop shop to report what he had seen and was ridiculed by the police officers who asked him what the cat said to him. who needs them eh??
true story and to this day he is 110% convinced he had an encounter with a big cat of unknown origin.
Really great encounter shared mate thank you.
Scotland definitely had and most likely do still have them roaming about.
Great place to be for a big cat and for me 🍺
This is so weird, the same thing roughly happened to me the other week. I haven’t spoke about it because I know people won’t believe me. Even more they probably stop hanging around with me because they think I’m a compulsive liar or something. I was over in Christchurch area, my dog wasn’t off the lead thankfully and what I saw. I won’t try and explain. I am definitely not going back there again

@@welcome2thewoodsuk same, I grew up in The New Forest and during my time lamping, I’ve come across lots of different eyes on the lamp. These were sinister and had death written all over it. It was bigger than my dog. And now the sport, I love the most I’m scared to do on my own or with anybody I care about
@HampshireHunters what would you say it was?
Even if it sounds wild.
I had something creepy happen last January freaked me right out but it's sparked an interest in me now.
I love being outside still but it's sad it's made you feel like that.
@@welcome2thewoodsuk I don’t know cats so I don’t want to give an exact answer, but when I shine the lamp I always start on the edge of the field and work the light in towards the middle as I’ve initially turned it on There was something stalking something it had a very low posture it was trying to sneak up or close distance on something it turned its head for about a second and then stood kind of sideways on with a big posture as if to say I’m now prey buddy, it had a longish tail with a curl on the end and its front legs were so muscular, its eyes were green with piercing black in the middle. Luckily my dog was on the lead. She was curious even more Luckily the field I was on was next to a cross road with my car parked the other side. Literally every second returning to my car felt like an hour and I just had this horrible feeling of something pouncing on me, thank God it didn’t.
@HampshireHunters well to tell you the truth that's amazing.
Intense but amazing, it's not nice to feel that vulnerable an especially in your safe zone.
It's really hard to try to relay that sort of experience but it's one of many similar I've heard now.
Very good you shared this though mate good on you.
I got a good local story of a gamekeeper who's dog treed a big lynx late one evening.
He is a right miserable old fella unless his been in the pub.
He went over to give his dog a bit of a telling off for not obeying him when he looked up there was this chunky lynx looking back down at him.
He also said he felt afraid for his life at the time.
He dragged his dog back to the jeep and went home.
He is only a few words sort of a man but I know him well enough after a beer.
He takes a 410 shotgun out even checking the birds water and feed.
👍🏻 your not alone
when a young teenager in 80's i had something growl at me in the woods that was so loud it resonated my insides. It was as loud as a lion but i never saw a thing. Possibly it was one of them but I will never know
A growling cat 😂
I think.. think.. I have caught a glimpse twice in Bedfordshire, on both occasions I thought black Labrador but then realised no dog owner as I got closer and remember the dragging tail, my brother swears he saw one on canal towpath whilst fishing that scared shit out of him and also the cat which turned and ran, I’m on the fence but really did see twice for a split second something that could have been, I live in the country and am outside for a lot of the time shooting, dog walking and foraging and if they were really out there I feel I should have seen more. Not sure!
That's abit how I definitely was and I know how you feel.
But I do delive more so now than ever.
I shoot and stay in the woods weekly sometimes.
I thought I should of seen a dozen by now but haven't.
However the findings are very good.
It's like I said Scotland has the Scottish wild cat and Martin, but hardly anyone sees them at all.
Thanks for your message and for watching
Nice one Mate first time ive viewed your channel. Love your enthusiasm spent 15 yrs living on Dartmoor had a couple of potential sightings of large black cats and umpteen stories of sightings from credible witnesses, but alas nothing verified which obviously is the holy grail. But I absolutely convinced the British Isles is inhabited by large cats , pumas panthers etc. Anyway subscribed and look forward to your output. Many thanks
I was on a train from Edinburgh to hartlepool in the North East and just outside of Berwick upon tweed in a field right beside the tracks I saw what I presume were the remains of a sheep and it looked like it had been ripped open and eaten. By what I don't know but my first thought was the large black cats we hear about. This was either 2009 or 2012 as I was working in Edinburgh both of those yrs.
I live in rural sw Scotland and have never saw a big cat myself but have heard lots of very credible stories from people i know that would never lie about seeing big cats. Theres hundreds of square miles of hills, forests and lochs here teaming with deer, birds and some boar its perfect habitat for them. My mate used to work on a local farm and he said the farmers talk about the big cats as if it's just normal
Thank you for sharing this I love Scotland absolutely beautiful place.
I visit often.
Yes I can imagine the farmers know, same in Wales.
Thank you again for your message.
@@welcome2thewoodsukkeep up the good work man they are out there. Best story I heard was a guy I done forestry work with, swore to me he came face to face with a massive black cat at loch doon about 8ft from head to tail, very muscular and black. His dad was working close by and said his son ran over to him chalk white with his hair standing up in total shock after seeing it.
We saw a huge wild cat in scotland 40 years ago. twice the size of a domestic..
Very interesting! Whether those were cat prints or not, they are almost certainly out there. 💪👏👍
Yes they are about in Cornwall me and and my wife seen him in a field at bolventor then again near St mellion 0:07 golf course Sotherton are about
Was out lamping 1 night few years back seen
A large black cat with yellow eyes head between a v shape tree no one ever believed me
This is brilliant work you are doing. We have seen them in our area north of Glasgow maybe 20 years ago. It's fascinating to see you doing this research. Thank you
Thank you very much.
Well I visit up there fairly often I love Scotland. and having Scottish and Irish heritage I feel home up in your north wilderness.
Great place for them to aswell everything there ever need to flourish.
👍🏻
I knew a chap who lived in st teaths in Cornwall he hunted a pack of foxhounds a had seen a large cat on several occasions over a period of ten years
In my opinion he knew the country side and I would accept his word
Regards Aidan
Thanks for sharing this.
Makes perfect sense aswell 👌🏻 cats are hunted in Montana and elsewhere with hounds to clear ranches.
Those dogs would of hunted that cat aswell.
Great share 👍🏻
Leicester, croft hill big panther. Me and kids saw it. Few years ago now
I've seen a large black cat in Ayrshire Scotland in 2003.It was in feild I was stpped in my car at the side of a country road ,I couldn't believe my eyes.
Thanks for sharing your exploits and well done finding some great evidence. I have had a sighting myself and a freind where walking through some dense woods along a track. Roughly 100 metres in front of us a massive black cat (poss black leopard) lept 3/4 of the track slunk down and pounced into the woodland. It was amazing experiencei will never forget the size of that big cat its tail thick and nearly as long as the body, huge muscular body! My mate has spent years hunting with his dad and never seen anything like it... his dad mentioned seeing one around 10years before this with a couple of mate while out stalking dear. They watched the big cat walk along the brow of a hill. The same area has stories going back years. There definetly out there.
Hello thank you for your message, very grateful for you sharing that.
Yes I also have been in the woods and hills hunting ect a long time.
I've had weird experiences but nothing as full on as this before.
I think the numbers are small but definitely there.
A cat like pumas and leopards only breed to the size of there environment apparently.
So if there is to many in territory apparently they can kill there young and don't let the population get large.
Interesting stuff thanks again 👍🏻
Congratulations!! Those prints are convincing that these cats exist. They seem to be turning up more in other parts of the world too. Thank you for perservering and putting in the hard work to get the results!
Thank you very much.
I'm glad it's being accepted and I feel lucky to of had the experience so far.
Thanks
So do bigfoots, aliens and confidence fraudsters keep turning up. Only one is credible enough to pass the proof test.
Saw one up close for a good 20 seconds while it walked casually along the field side of a tree line before it stepped into the forest and was gone. We rather stupidly ran in after it but didn't see it again. It was 34 years ago in the highlands of Scotland on the edge of a very large forest but still close to property. Very large, pure black.
Would be nice to use a heat seeking camera as well, chances are it was watching you from the other side of the woods
That would be great 👍🏻 something I've thought of but they are so so expensive
Go to Margam mountain South Wales 🏴 mate 👌🏼😎 I’ve seen one there and then had one sniffing around the tent when we were camping in the abbey!!
Seen a dead puma type, size of a large dog, on a motorway slip road many years ago.
Apparently Trecwn valley and the Gwaun valley in west wales have a active big cat population...a guy was growled at and the guy lives in the area and said it was no growl he had ever heard it terrified him so much he refuses to walk in that area anymore.and to be quite frank that part of west wales is the perfect enviroment for them to exist and thrive.
mate what an amazing documentary !! I too am well into the big cats in UK, I am up in Scotland and i am sure on my hunting ground i have some sort of big cat. Ive seen paw prints and also spoken with neighbours to the farm and they have all saw it as well.
Thank you very much mate 👍🏻.
That's good to hear and another Scotland one fantastic.
I might come up that area and do some serious hours camping out if I can locate a area.
Seems like an idea as I've had lots of reports
@@welcome2thewoodsuk Your welcome mate. If you do find yourself in Scotland and up in Aberdeenshire, give me a shout and i'll take you out to my area and we can do a 48 hour camp or something.
@bunnysniper22 That very nice of you mate thanks.
It could definitely be a possibility at some stage mate.
I've got a few places I'm looking at this side of Christmas it very busy atm.
Keep in touch mate 👍🏻 and enjoy the season
damn good print , scat looks like a possible ( if you bag up the scat you can check 4 hairs later by washing them through a fine sieve ).Black in the scat is a strong indicator of blood showing meat consumption and usually smells sort of metallic ,irony. That track is worth a couple of cameras aswell . Interestingly we seem to find most of the prints we find just on the very edge of the tracks never the middle and like yourself usually just the one , so well spotted. Excellent casts Great work you should keep it up dude.:)
Thank you very much for your comments and keeping them kind with this subject not everyone is.
Glad to know you appreciate it very hard work goes into finding this stuff as you know.
Thanks for the tips and information.

Hello mate I lived in a place called deal in Kent for many years , I definitely spotted a black panther along the edge line of coldblow woods , was in a car with a friend and couldn't believe our eyes . There's definitely big cats roaming Britain
Yeah I know it mate lovely place.
Hawkinge is also quite forestey.
Great to keep hearing local ones 👌🏻 👍🏻
Definitely big cats in the UK. I know of 3 areas and have video footage of 2 getting some early morning sunshine on an Oak tree stump which clearly demonstrates their size
Thanks for your comment 👍🏻.
That's very interesting I would love to see that.
Privately email if it's a possiblely, if not I understand.
Thanks for watching 👍🏻
I’m an admin and moderator in a few different big cat groups mate, one of which has over 19,000 members, I think our community would enjoy these videos it would definitely be worth thinking about creating a facebook account.. I’ll share a link to this video in a few of the groups for you 👍🏻
Thanks for watching 👍🏻.
That's something I might do in the near future if I keep coming into findings hopefully fingers crossed 🤞.
Interesting I bet that's pretty cool.
Thank you very much mate
Hi mate. What is the name of the group & how can I join please ?
I’d be interested in learning more what is the name of your groups please ?
Saw one in Harrogate about 15 years ago walking across a sheep feild, it came from behind a stone wall near the roadside, I was in a van in roadworks and about 20 feet away before it walked off up the feild.
Great video mate. I can confirm as can my partner, 100 percent in Wales. Seen with our own eyes, we are out in the country 24 7 and we both shouted out "panther" at exactly the same time. The ground it covered in no time was unreal and it jumped a 5 bar gate and sat there looking at us for a few seconds, head level with the top bar before it was gone never to be seen again. I can remember it like yesterday.
😂😂😂
Fascinating documentaary
40 years ago I was hiking on Exmoor, on the moor above Minehead. Entering the first enclosed walled field high off the moor I came across maybe 60 or so terrified sheep huddled together. I was repeatedly charged by the rams who were clearly extremely agitated. There was a freshly killed and disembowelled sheep in the corner of the field. The hoof prints of this sheep in the closely cropped fine grass were clearly visible showing where it had been singled out, making a u turn at one side of the field before crossing to the far corner where it had been brought down. There were no other marks in the grass - whatever had brought it down left no marks - so it wasn't a dog. And a domestic dog would not have inflicted the massive damage to the sheep.
All circumstantial evidence, but I believe this was a fresh kill only hours old from a big cat living on Exmoor.

very good video, the noise in the woods , i believe is a big cat . they do exist , i have seen one . keep the videos coming .
Thank you very much.
Yeah mixed evaluations come in about the noises, first one possibly a fox but the one that's a bit further away screams 3 times in my opinion is not a fox.
It was enough for me to move on that night.
Wish I held my nerv and stayed but I can always go back in the dead of winter when all the cover is gone and died back.
👍🏻
Go back some 40 odd years and one warm summer's night, I saw something at 0130 hrs in the morning.
I was in my MG MIdget with the roof down as it was warm _(Even if it was cold but dry, I'd take the roof down. No point having a convertible in the UK if you're going to wait for those 4 days when it's sunny to go topless?)._ I digress. I was on the Worcestershire, Warwickshire border heading into Warwickshire.
I was driving in a very small village, turned right down a road that lead out of that village and something dark and large was running down the middle of the road. It did so for a good few seconds before it veered to the left. The grass _curbs_ either side of the road was probably some 30 odd feet wide before the hedgerows.
Whatever it was, stopped by the hedge, turned towards me, then vanished through the hedge never to be seen again.
*Now.*
Some cynics will say, _"It was just a Black Lab or Alsatian."_
But I've had Alsatians in the past. My uncle always used to have Black Labradors. So whatever it was, did not run or move like those aforementioned dogs. Plus those dogs did not have the length of tail this beastie had. And as far as I've ever found out, they do not have it's piercing, night vision specialist, yellow/orange eyes. I had followed the beastie with full beam of the car by turning slightly to the left to follow it.
And no dog has ever given me that primordial fear that this beastie did. *The hairs on the back of my neck, stood up!*
I was being forewarned warned by some act of nature that I was _NOT_ the alpha predator. It was then that I remembered I had the roof down. That made me drive off PDQ!
EDIT
Just subbed to you 👍
Second EDIT
Regarding those plaster casts. It's not a cat. And bear in mind that prints in mud are much larger than the foot making it.
Regardless of what that lady said, they're just large dog prints. Forget about claws. They sometimes never show up unless it's really boggy.
But look at the large rear pad. The rear of those pads is almost flat. Like a ")" or a "}". But turned 90 degrees to the left.
If they had been large cats, then that rear part of the large rear pad would be similar to 3 "U" shapes. But with no spaces between. UUU
That's the best way I can describe the difference. However. Google *Leopard or dog footprint* and you'll see what I mean.
But the photo was definitely, very, very intriguing. 🤔👍
Hi mate, nice video. I lived in west Oxfordshire where one day I found really deep scratch marks about 4 feet high on a tree in our garden. There was even claw shaped indentations. The whole area was dripping with tree sap. This scarred the tree forever, many years after still shows. Our jack russel was always scared going outside there, but not other places. Ive finally put two and two together. My brother actually SAW a huge black cat with rabbit in his mouth near Chandlings, Oxfordshire, when he was at school
That noise sounds like a mountain lion/panther's mating call. Search on here theres lots of examples
Sounded like a fox.
@@Eyeball1975 I've heard a fox's call multiple times and I wouldn't say so. Search mountain lion or panther mating call on here. It's unmistakable. Could be a recording being played but it is without doubt the same mating call.
That was a large cat making that audio scream, we occasionally hear this at night over our field where we keep goats and sheep, when we hear this particular noise our dogs that are outside go absolutely crazy, and we always find a very pungent cat wee/tom cat pee smell in the field. At times we have lost a calf that has birthing problems at night and have left the body for the mother to settle to the unfortunate loss of her offspring only to find the next morning the body gone or nearly eaten, the bones being licked clean and not chewed like a fox or badger does. Both myself and my husband have seen the large black cat whilst riding our horses, it was only in the next field and was i think sunning itself, and the small woods that i ride in i saw a huge pair of deer rear legs and half a haunch up a tree in the centre of the woods,i think they must have been about 20 -25ft up the tree on a lateral branch, my horse was rearing and panicking to get out of the woods that day and it was the first time he bolted with me in true fright, i felt very un-nerved as well, the woods were very quiet , thats what set my horse off, we regulary used to ride in these woods and have no problems.I let him get away and used his reaction to keep me safe as well i felt. This black panther is well known in this area and our local school was shut down as people saw a huge black cat on the playground, the police was seen scouting the area in a helicopter, i think it made the local news.I used to go regulary to see a collection of hybrid and pure bred large cats, so i know the noise that they make when calling to a mate or offspring, that noise brought all the memories back.
Seriously thanks for this,
Great you have shared this in depth.
I can honestly say that sound out in the woods that night made ever hair on me stand up.
Exactly a scream is the only way of explaining it, I've been in the woods since I was able to walk myself and never had those sorts of calls before.
We had a similar incident over in the village we live in, they shut the school because of a big leopard in the field.
Never found or shot but the police shut it off for 48hrs.
This shows 100% consistency from reports.
I don't think we have many but we definitely have some and we are lucky because they don't cause any issues.
Thanks again for your message
The audio was a fox, I hunt foxes for the local farmers, if you google fox calls you will hear it’s definitely a fox, you can buy electric fox calls or even get them on your phone , check it out..
Really interesting!
I don't think taking pictures of a old shed & some dog prints & you breathing heavy count's a evidence , sorry mate.🤣🤣🤣🤣
I have come across 12 sheep slaughtered on dartmoor . . Farmer didn't want the publicity.

Your quest to find a big cat is not that outlandish. I saw what looked like a cougar in the fields heading out of March toward Doddington in Cambridgeshire. It seemed to be making a B line for me and I even thought it was trying to cut me off and jump me, but it wasn't. In fact they have never attacked people. Thirty years ago there were tales of sightings of the Fenland Tiger and we know that certain species of big cats have escaped zoos. Given the amount of deer and rabbits about there is more than enough out there for them to predate on. If a film crew can prove true what had been folklore myth of tigers present in the Himalayas, you could, I'm sure prove the existence of wild cats in the countryside. We don't seem to have compatible pairs of breeding cats and this poses a challenge. In addition you might want to hone your search not just to sightings but to areas from zoos where we know they have escaped. Perhaps also know your shit and your paw prints. I'm sure there are people out there who could tell you what species did that dump and made that print. It is expensive, but more camcorders activated by movement might help your cause, provided scum do not try to steal them.
Interesting. Similar sightings here in GA (US). It seems like there's either populations of panther and jaguar or a hybridization of both.
Thanks for watching 👍🏻.
Yes it's definitely a possibility would answer alot of questions.
Also cuse a debate but definitely possible given the sizes and colours of the reported sightings.
You have more than big cats to worry about over in the US lol we are quite lucky hear lol.
Lovely place I've been once before would love to come back.
Thanks for watching 👍🏻
That noise is a puma mate 100% , not a fox not a deer not anything you would hear from British wildlife , great work mate best evidence anyone has gotten in my option , thank you for sharing with us !
Opinion not option lol
Have u ever heard a uk red fox mating call literally is this sound unfortunately
Nice job 👍🏻i know folk who have found deer carcass high up in the trees 🙂
That screaming is definitely mountain lion/puma. I got a spine tingle just watching the video, dread to think how it'd feel in real life. Great vid, just found your channel 👍
I think that was a deer 🦌 you'd be surprised how they can sound
@fishingdandan4788 I know what you're saying deer can make strange sounds, I've heard sheep sound human before as well haha but still definitely team puma on the screams you won't convince me otherwise. I live in an area that's known for puma sightings and I hear those screams from the woods quite regularly and it's definitely not deer! They're too loud and the "yowls" at the end. Sometimes sounds like a woman being strangled too it's errie!
I live in South West Wales, a friend has a plaster cast of a huge paw print found in the woods not far from where we lived at the time. The woodland owner wanted it kept quiet as he didn't want people wandering over his land. He had a South African friend who was an expert on big cats. After inspection of the print, he thought it to be that of a Mountain Lion, the paw size was almost the size of your hand. That was way back in 2003. I've heard many stories of big cats locally, there was one story many years ago when a large black cat was seen near a place called Llangadog, it was taken seriously by the local Police at the time and marksmen were deployed up there for two, or three days. The story was covered by the Welsh news stations.
Seen a big cat near Corsham last year, me and my friend do exploring in the mines around Corsham, we were on our way to a mine when we noticed an old couple a hundred meters away, and in the same instance we notice some thing big and black moving incredibly fast through the undergrowth, we stopped for a moment and it turned 90 degrees and ran up a near vertical spoil heap which was about 20 meters high, the old couple also witnessed this, it was black the size of a large dog but much longer an many times more agile.
Certainly made going into the mines a bit more exciting!
I saw one in Essex in the mid 90s..
This puma was just crossing the road right in front of me on the back road between Brentwood and Onger... I had to brake quite hard to avoid hitting it!.. I sat there for a while processing what I had just seen.. But there was absolutely no doubt about it!..
A big black panther..
I never reported it and if I have mentioned it in confidence. I am often met with cynicism..
I once saw a large black cat ( size of a Labrador but bushy black tail) ..I was rabbit popping the time on a local golf course adjacent to a lot of open and wood covered land with an air rifle..I had the wind in my face with my back against a tree when several Roe Deer suddenly ran out from cover about 80m in front of me followed by what I thought was a black dog..it wasn’t until it came closer I could see through the scope it was very large cat ( not a domestic cat) it never caught my scent as the wind was behind it ( in my face) if the wind was behind me I’d never have seen it….also my family ( farmers) have lost live stock over the years to an unknown predator.. I live in a Roman City in Somerset with 2 Universities .We are all hunters in my family so know what a fox/dog or badger kill looks like and none of those were responsible
Exciting finds! There have been loads of sightings near me in Worcestershire as well. Most recently the Pershore panther. I've got an interesting photo of a deer carcass I found down a dead-end lane in the countryside. Something peeled the skin back and ate most of it, pulled a leg off and ate most of that too. What else would take down a good size deer and eat most of it?
Thanks very much.
That's good another one from a different area again I'm seeing a pattern aswell.
I'm on a interesting investigation this week hopefully it brings something more.
That's great on the photo. Maybe I could see that if possible.
No problem if not.
Great to have you hear 👍🏻
Yep, I'll email it over later today.
@donnablack6280 that's fantastic thank you.
I'm not questioning it at all it would just be pretty cool to see it.
Thanks very much 👍🏻
Yes, my Dad saw one while at work in Worcester back in the 90s ...
I live in California and we have mountain lions all over the state. They are very elusive and rarely seen. Still, you can find news articles about them coming into the suburban areas. This usually happens late at night. I live in a relatively agrarian area of California and have had only a handful of sightings. Usually at night or near dawn. You probably have a small population that is becoming stabile in the UK.
Audio 100% not a Fox, i live next to a small Wood, hear Foxes all the time. That screach definitely sounds like a Cat, a bloody big Cat!!!! Banging Vid mate, even my heart was racing! Top work 👏 👌 👍😉
My brother & myself have seen one mid afternoon in Hertfordshire, not black, but similar to the colour of a rabbit.
Problem with big cats is like any animal. It'll have a major base ground of a few square miles where it feels at home but can have a territory of a few hundred square miles and with zero natural predator against it then the UK would be it's zone so hitting the jackpot is basically a lottery but hey stay at it and loving seeing the wonders the UK has to offer
Thanks mate 👍🏻
I have suspisions they live around me. A few sheep wools lying around, once seen a black cat the size of a baby deer. All these clues and positions are a line from river to woodland crossing a few open fields.
I saw what I believed to be a puma in the late 80s near wetherby as I was driving from the A1 it cleared a hedge and took about two steps before clearing a hedge on the other side of the road the car in front of me had to brake to miss it and I had to brake so as not to run into him it was very clear and definitely not a deer as it was black with a long flowing tail
I've seen black panthers in Yorkshire but when years ago
I like the two black fallow deer close up, did not like the un-invited motorcycles .
100% legit, me and rest of family all saw one 30 years ago in North Yorkshire, from our car, it was walking along the side of a farmers field, we were approaching from behind and my Dad was the first to spot it up ahead, and we all-lurched forward in the car and clearly saw the large black cat, and it’s slinky haunches type walking, as we were getting inline with the cat, it turned right and climbed through the bushes at the edge of the field away from the road.
We’ve always had cats in our family and are familiar with how cats walk, that effortless slinky smooth motion they have , and this was a cat, albeit a much larger one than we’d ever seen up close.
Wow that's great you have shared this thank you.

Hey I’m not far from catterick, I’m in Teesside, I used to night fish a large gravel pit very close to catterick, in a place called Ellerton water park ( 63 acres of water ) damn that lake was so dark at night it was phenomenal ! You could switch off your head torch and put your hand in front of your face and couldn’t see it, it’s the darkest place bar one that I’ve ever bivvied up, nearly always alone as not many people fish there, cos the carp fishing is hard there, not a great stock etc .. and the noises on a night, foxes 🦊 screeching and rats living on the island, had a strange few nights on that island , the couple of people that were members long term wouldn’t even fish off that island on a night !
I’ve camped up at osmotherley and that was pitch black too, as no light pollution ( like at Ellerton ). But I’ve found sheep torn up in the fields up at osmotherley, but haven’t spotted any cats.
I saw one in malton and I nearly pissed my pants when it walked out of the bushes

How long ago was this ?
Great video mate, think you got some positive evidence of big cat presence, especially the poor prints, and footage on trail cams, possibly stalking its pray if the deer was campured first on camera, good on you 👍
Awesome finds you've got there. Definitely big cat, imo.
for your print casting try "plaster of paris", its bright white, and very fine so assists to show finer detail. also if you tap the air out of the mix before you slowly pour it into the print it will remove the air bubbles and give you a good, detailed casting, and label with date, location etc. when you pick out set print cast.
If you're photo'ing any prints you find before you fill with plaster, you could use a small note pad ,like a business card size , you can label a number, date , location etc and it can act as a size confirmation. Consistency for future proofing your time and efforts done now. well done mate. very exciting.
Thank you very much for your message and valuable advice.
I will definitely keep this in mind for future if I'm lucky enough to find some.

Thanks for doing this very interesting of projects.

Pretty brave of you!... I live in Moray, in the North-East of Scotland, and a number of people have seen big cats here too and some have investigated this phenomenon, but without very much success either. Locals just see it or them during walks...
That was a cat print, In the mud, As a gamekeeper you soon get to know what is what around your woods.
That's interesting if you have had similar experiences being s gamekeeper.
Wouldn't be the first one to openly say about them.
I don't suppose you was the keeper in Halling/Holbrough shoot your name I recognise?
Cheers mate
For what it's worth, you should very much be looking up in the trees during the day. Let's assume there is a population of wild big cats in the UK, chances are they're leopards or cougars. Both will spend time up in trees during the day, especially if they've heard/smelled/seen you coming.
The print you found looks good, that was a great spot. The shape and lack of visible claws is very compelling. In terms of the scat, dogs fed a raw meat diet will produce scat just like that. Not saying that's definitely what it is, but it's worth considering that many dogs are now fed this diet.
Keep up the good work, this is the only way we're going to find out if there is a population out there!
Thank you very much for your message.
It's definitely something I've heard and now learning more about the characteristics of behaviour.
Unfortunately, I've had absolutely nothing of any evidence for a little while now.
I did get some strange tracks out of surry, a place south east.
Three toed large tracks very similar to a cat shape but 3 toes, confused the life out of me because all the prints had 3 toes not just the one print or foot.
I have been out with night vision and stayed places since and not even as much as a whisker.
I've got a night planned in next week in a interesting place.
I'll take the equipment and we are due some snow so hopefully it might show something.
Thank you very much again
