One of my favorite video game openings right here. A great sense of urgency builds as you and your Star Fox team represent the only hope left for Corneria and the Lylat System.
I found the 3ds version a lot easier than the original after I finished the 3ds version and went back to my N64 to play the original Might be the controller or just me though
1:24 god, that beat drop is so good. You just knew it was about to go down in Lylat. I would literally watch this opening all the time just for that part, to get myself hyped.
Imagine how I feel now amigo, your comment is 13 years old, meaning the game is 25 years old at this point. I remember a time when I used to play this game religiously at my friend's house, Star Fox 64 was the reason why I started playing games in the first place. Ahh, sweet old memories, how the world has changed
Love the swashbuckling tone of this series and this game particularly. ...It begins at the tail end of a huge and devastating interplanetary war. We can tell the enemy is very threatening because they are apparently about to overwhelm the remaining resistance in the system. Who knows what would happen when it's over... Then a four-man team of anthropomorphic animal space mercenaries jump into their wings and they go brrrrrrr and reverse the entire invasion like its Tuesday. It's all catharsis.
I was 12 years old when I first saw this game. I would go with my bro to his friend's house. I would play while they both worked on their science project. Man this game game was THE GAME! 2nd after Zelda Ocarina of Time!
All of their money went towards a long hallway when there are only four pilots living there. What a waste of money, I bet you the construction workers who made this were thinking, "Why the heck do they need such a long hallway? Just so they can run and pass out once they've reached their Arwing dock?"
The Great Fox has gotta be a LOT larger than it appeared in Sector Z. There's a runway inside that beast that's long enough to explain the run from 0:50 to 1:15.
Oh. Wow. I was but a little 6 year old when this was out. I would love to watch my 7 year old brother play this game and root him on when he played. Man I miss the days.
We need your help, Star Fox! Andross has declared war! He's invaded the Lylat System and is trying to take over Corneria. Our army alone can't do the job. Hurry, Star Fox!
We need your help Star Fox! Call of Duty has declared war, they've invaded kids minds and are trying to take over the gaming world. Old gen gamers can't do the job alone, hurry Star Fox!
Nowadays, Fox and Captain Falcon are drowning their sorrows at a bar while watching the newest Nintendo Direct. "There's always the next Smash Bros..." "Mm-hm..."
I don't know how nintendo does it, when you look at it Star Fox is such a damn simple game, yet under their direction it becomes one of the most addictive and memorable pilot games ever. I have been playing this game since it came out on the 64 years ago and i still play it from time to time when im bored and it never gets old. Lets hope Nintendo remakes this on the Wii and maybe another F-Zero.
25 years later and this game is still a masterpiece! I’ve never played it (I dream to play the 3DS remake), but I think I know how it feels to see four friends together! Edit: Man, it feels funny to return here after getting Star Fox 64 3D for Christmas…
Pure nostalgia... one of my all-time favorites.. Brings back so much memories!!! A tear almost came from eye when i seen this... Glad to see it on 3ds... might get a 3ds for Zelda oot and this!
Something I noticed... Y'know the part at the title screen that says "64" and you can move it around with the control stick? On our game we had a red fox logo instead of the "64". Perhaps the region versions are different? o_o
I love SEGA, always have, but worked in a cyber cafe where we were one of two stores in the entire country to be able to preview the Nintendo 64 and got this game too! Who else? Who else....feels the blood rushing to their head during the call for help? The SCRAMBLE sequence down the hall? I am reminded of my favorite computer game: Wing Commander. I always loved the SCRAMBLE SEQUENCE before take off. Just feel that RUSH!
@gmarlon61 One of which is a rookie, one that has already failed to beat Andross, one that is a loose cannon falcon and one which gets hallucinations of his sunglasses sporting dead (probably) father. Oh, and a robot that can apparently land supplies on any planet, at any time, in any battle, but NOT cover fire unless it's ship is specifically in danger. One more thing, they're charging extra if they actually win.
"our army alone can't do the job" okay so if a big army (assuming corneria has one) can't beat andross, then you ask 4 person to the job? Pepper, did you know someone invented logic?
@butters742 That's the mid to late 1990s for ya!! This is when gaming started to get really cool! Now look at todays game :D how far they have come within the last 12 to 13 years!!!
in the event that I ever have children, I'm going to raise them on excellent old school games such as this, to show them that a good game is truly timeless, and that it doesn't have to rely on amazing graphics or gimmicky gameplay mechanics.
20 years later now as an adult, this game still the GOAT

Agreed. Born in 93’ one of the greatest games i’ve played up until today. Played it on an edible the other day, what an experience lol
@@frankiemarchese2978 Bro that experience must have been next level
this is the intro which demonstrates that you can make a perfect game without 4k at 60 fps
ERROR NOT 60 FPS MAN 64 FPS SHOW SOME RESPECT!
right!
sorry
@Themacinthehat star fox 64 3d (?)
The music on N64 games are part of the reason why these games are so good.
Or maybe the arwings are just big
@@lucario293 I’m still a star Fox fan myself (Annie and Elizabeth/How to Train your Dragon/Ichigo and Rukia).
1:41 bought tears to my eyes.
Goosebumps every time!!!! XD
+MrGojira95 Same here. I almost cry this game has a special place in my heart.
We need your help Starfox
Agreed
After all these years, still gives me the chills and makes me feel hyped. Perfect game.
One of my favorite video game openings right here. A great sense of urgency builds as you and your Star Fox team represent the only hope left for Corneria and the Lylat System.
Man, this game will/always be the best game ever...the 3ds version is awsome, but on the N64, its way better. Nothing can beat the classics.
Miguel Baltazar n64 version in pj64 looks incredible too.
+Charlymander Its a lot darker and the lines are a little "choppy" looking. Still really good none the less.
It's funny how you kids say n64 is better yet you kids are all praising unreal engine ocarina of time lol.
I found the 3ds version a lot easier than the original after I finished the 3ds version and went back to my N64 to play the original

@@shariqnaeem9308 the 3ds had a lot more convenient slots for items than n64 version.
My two favorite games of all time Starfox and Banjoo kazooie 😭
This was considered to be serious and action-filled awesomeness back then, now people's standards have changed, but this seems like a classic.
Thank you, Rick May.
Thank you.
Rest in peace, kind sir. Go and do barrel rolls in heaven.
Mr Rick May...we still miss you and yes...we will be doing those barrel rolls

Oop
It’s been 14 years since this comment. We are indeed very old!
What I love about this intro is that it introduces us to the Star Fox theme song, which would be used in all other games in the series since.
Para mí, la mejor intro de todos los tiempos. Que maravillosa!
Good job moving the 64 when it reaches the title screen, appreciate it.

wow the intro music sounds exactly like the ending of ocarina of time xD
Koji Kondo composed the music for this masterpiece too! 😁
The classics!! I love this game
The first time I ever beat this game was on December 31, 1999. Once I killed Andross I was okay with the world coming to an end...
0:51 LOL, the hallway, I love how in the N64 era you just had to choose one pattern for a texture and stick with that. Great game.
