  • Hey! In this video I would like to talk about how the public bike system, called Mol Bubi works here in Budapest, Hungary. This was our first biking as well and it was such a great experience, Budapest is a safe place if you would like to cycle around.

    I loved using Mol Bubi when I visited Budapest in 2022 for 2 months. I think Budapest is a very bike friendly city with many dedicated bike lanes, and I also felt safe riding around the city overall. I recommend you try it! Sok szerencsét!

      Thank you for this comment! :) Budapest really tries to be more open for bikers, it's not easy everywhere to let the bikers go, but we can really see the developement, there are always more and more bike lanes and that's great! :)

    We'll be visiting Budapest later this month (July) and would definitely use Mol Bubi to get around. Thanks for the vid.

      That's amazing, I hope you will like it here! :) Be careful as the weather can be pretty hot during the day, so make sure not to bike around in the middle of the day, but otherwise I think this is a great way to see a lot of things in the city. :)
      Take care! :)

    Does that also work for the scooters?

    • @petrasperspective
      @petrasperspective  10 дней назад +1

      I don't think so, because the scooter system is ran by other companies, but I'm sure that they work very similar (I mean by an app, paying through phone, having time limits etc.). I've never tried them, so I can't really say much about them.
      I think Lime is one of the biggest, you can find information about it here: help.li.me/hc/en-gb
      Tier is also another brand, more information: www.tier.app/en/
      I hope that this helped! :)

    So mam is it totally free? After a ride of 30 min if we changes our bike

    • @petrasperspective
      @petrasperspective  Месяц назад +1

      No, it's not free, as I said in the video if you have a registered Hungarian adress, you can buy monthly passes for 1.000 HUF (2,5 EUR) or annual pass for 8.500 HUF (21 EUR). The passes let you bike for 30 minutes.
      If you don't have a Hungarian adress, the only option is the "pay as you go plan" which means that every minute you have to pay 40 HUF(which starts from the first minute). In this case you can use your bike as much as you want.
      The change after 30 minutes only valid for the passes, if you don't return the bike before the 30 minute, you have to pay 40 HUF for every minute from the 30th minute. If you return the bike and change for another one before the 30 minutes, you don'T have to pay the extra amount of money.
      I hope that now it was more understandable, but you can find more information here: molbubi.hu/en/faq/

      I copied this bit from the FAQ section:
      If I drop my bike off at a station within 30 minutes and immediately pick up another one, can I continue to use it free of charge?
      Yes, with a valid pass, the first 30 minutes of each ride are free of charge. If you return your bike to a station within 30 minutes and pick up another one there, your free 30 minutes will start again. Attention! If you want to pick up the same bike you dropped off, you will have to wait for the status of the bike to be updated in the back-end system. If you drop off and pick up more than one (up to two) bikes at the same time 0:00 , this can take up to minutes.
