Fleet History - Suckling/ScotAirways/Loganair Dornier 328 (1995-2019)

- Welcome to my fleet histories series. In it I review year-by-year aircraft fleets of an airline.
In this video I go through the history of Suckling Airways, ScotAirways and Loganair's Dornier 328 fleet from 1995 until recent retirement in 2019.
Thank you for the support I have received over all 167 fleet history videos since I began uploading them in August 2016, I truly did not believe it would become as popular as it has!
This final fleet history brings things back home for me, as it covers the history of a plane I have seen flying out of Norwich Airport for many years and had grown attached to - the Dornier 328. My all-time favourite one has to be G-CCGS, which Loganair named "Spirit of Norwich", who I flew on last February to Manchester.
The music is also special to me, "You To Me Are Everything" by The Real Thing, as not only was it in my head throughout my D328 flights to Manchester and back but also symbolises my relationship with the Dornier - it truly is everything to me.
Goodbye Dornier 328, I hope you enjoy your new life wherever that may be (that's not the scrapyard...).

Ah it's too short to do a fleet history on ;)
@@Ibirdball 😁😁

Thanks, yeah, I enjoyed making these too, but things must move on.
Im so sad to hear this..
Remmber my flight from holland to cambridge england 1997 suckling airways -dornier 228 so sweet to remmber..
I love your video’s!!!
Thanks :)

Boy I am going to miss your fleet Histories
I quite like those fleet histories
I've seen 10 different Dorniers from Suckling/Scot in the past at Schiphol.
Yeah, Loganair flew Dorniers in to Den Helder and Groningen on charters a few times before they retired. Too bad the "Spirit of Norwich" hasn't been preserved...
@@Ibirdball Yes, sad to see the Dornier go, same as I miss the Dorniers from Skywork.
@@TheYottaTube Now for the first time in many years, neither Norwich nor Amsterdam regularly gets Dorniers :(.
:( I loved the D328.
Did you ever fly on her? I managed to get on G-CCGS and G-BYHG a few weeks before they were retired.
No. The only plane I have been on was a Ryanair 737-800 LTN-DUB. I have been able to capture one ln camera though.
@@Cladcreeper I took lots of videos/photos of them, glad I did as they are now gone.
Cool. The flight number of the plane I flew on was FR331. Registrated EI-FRP. On my channel, I have footage of me filming the plane takeoff from inide the cabin. It was a very cool flight.
@@Cladcreeper Funnily enough, I got a picture of EI-FRP at Stansted a couple weeks ago - www.flickr.com/photos/155986601@N02/48373313082/
Hi Ibirdball.
At lunchtime today I was relaxing outside and saw 8 British Airways CityFlyers. Do you know anything about this? They actually landed at Norwich Airport.
Thank you for your attention.
Eight? I saw and took pictures of a BA E170 (G-LCYD) doing circuits over Norwich. I will be up at the airport tomorrow if you want to join me.
Nah, I'm good thanks. Might do another day though. I'm hoping that there will be some more BA flights on Sunday. I'll probably be going then.
@@Cladcreeper Why did eight turn up? KLM only has room for five aircraft in their facility and they are busy with West Atlantic, CityJet, Transavia, BRA etc. already.
I don't think I saw 8 exactly. They might have been going around. But I did see an A320 land too. Pretty weird but I'm a bit confused by it. It didn't say they were scheduled flights on my radar.
@@Cladcreeper That A320 was likely the BH Air flight from Burgas, flown weekly.
Have you heard that there is a Spitfire departing from the SaxonAir hangar at Norwich tomorrow? I might be there to film its departure. :D
I remember there being one there last summer, must be a repeat of then. What is it there for?
I'm not really sure but it's off to Lincolnshire Airbase.
@@Cladcreeper RAF Scampton?
Think so. It actually didn't turn up on the day surprisingly.
@@Cladcreeper Were you there about a year ago when the BBMF Lancaster and Hurricane did a flypast of Norwich? I filmed them from outside SaxonAir/NHV.
watching this video while doing my English homework (translation of the text "Norwich" from English to Ukrainian)

Farewell Ibirdball's Fleet Histories...
IT was replaced with the atr 42 500/600
When do you make another Minecraft tutorial? Of a e190?
I've ended my tutorial series.
☹️
but if you can send me some photos of the e190 and those other embraers. maybe I can make it because I really waited enormously for those tutorials.
or are you also going to make a 2019 series of it?
They are already fleeting away
Ba Dum Tish
This is your last Fleet History?
Yes
But is there a reason why you stop making fleet history videos Ibirdball?
Logan Air? Is that Logan Paul's Airline? :D
No it's Scotland's Airline xD.
@@Ibirdball ok lol.
Loganair: we fly everyday bro
Hey Ibirdball, you're gonna get a shoutout when my new video is uploaded! Today :)
Thanks :)
@@Ibirdball no problem. The video is uploaded already.
Ibirdball, why is this the final fleet history?
I don't have the time to do fleet histories constantly anymore and since the Dornier 328s from Loganair had just been retired, I thought it was a fitting way to end the series.
Are you and Eva still a thing?
no we don't talk about that ;)
0:22 can you please send me that picture

Thanks ibirdball
Why you stom making fleet history videos Ibirdball?
I didn't have the motivation/time to make them anymore, plus many other people now produce them.
Well it doesn't matter right now. Lufthansa 001 stops uploading fleet history videos. But he continues making it. As it doesn't matter the time, how long and how hard can it be.
Fleet history is very important. People get confused when PAL 747 started to disappeared but when you upload that video, we already know that they retired them in 2014.
So please can you just make the fleet history videos in 2020?
@@ZC_Offcials He can't do them forever you know, plus, he did them for 3 years so I think that he made the right choice to retire.
Why don't you just make the fleet history videos now Ibirdball? We were begging you to do it.
