Great video for inspiration! I had forgotten about laser etching denim! I remember seeing a Levi's flagship store or similar in London back in about 2002 that offered customisation like that in store. I think you might have also been able to add other panels of fabric at the time. They must have been trail blazing (no laser burning pun intended) back then when laser weren't as commonly accessible. Now I want to try it on other dark fabrics, maybe we can make custom trousers for our student robotics team :-)
Hi there, I have Trotec 300 in fablab and they recommend not using the 100 speed. It was recommended to go max 90 speed by trotec technician. Is that right? Why so? Thanks.
Thanks! Well it depends on the materials. Black engraving is hard to do, if it's very thick denim you can put it out of focus and burn it more, you risk going through the material though.
Great question, if they are thick and sturdy jeans it wouldn't be a problem and the engraving shouldn't wash out as the laser permanently burns the fabric.
I would say, if you're engraving new jeans to wash them a couple times first as you usually would, otherwise the ink will run when it gets wet and the contrast will be lessened.
Hi Roland, that all depends on the size of the wood and the amount of engraving. For example small text vs. full photo. Our Speedy 400 is currently one of the fastest laser engraver on the market.
What happends when you rub the laser engraved pattern with your finger or scratch with youtr nail ?? it will destroy it. The engravainging touches onlt the surface , below the surface its blue. Seen a lot of videos , but not where they after engraving rubs the surface. Because it does not work
This is a great video! Very inspirational for someone like myself looking to monetize the use of my laser
Your background music is phenomenal

Nathan Beveridge Thanks Nathan for the kind words! We did see engraved denim at Levis stores here as well. The darker the denim the better!

Fernando Besterei you should order a Trotec then! :)

Awesome work! How is the engraving so bright? Can it also be done with dark (black) engraving?
Thanks! Well it depends on the materials. Black engraving is hard to do, if it's very thick denim you can put it out of focus and burn it more, you risk going through the material though.
ooooh, can't wait to see that one! :D
FrNchi33 thanks! You’re going to love it! :)
Are you using authorised music?
Hello can you suggest me someone or a factory to do custom engraved jeans?
can I engrave on denim with my Fiber 20Watt trotec promarker
Thanks for the video, what's the engraving like after the jeans go through the washing machine? Is there any after care needed?

What is the laser power used in the machine?
🤩
what is the fastest engrave time mms that you can engrave 600 DPI photos on wood?
Hi Roland, that all depends on the size of the wood and the amount of engraving. For example small text vs. full photo. Our Speedy 400 is currently one of the fastest laser engraver on the market.
Would you wash the garment before sending it to a costumer due to the shade of the denim being changed after the first wash after being lasered?
Hi Daniel, yes we would imagine so, or at least wipe down the residue.
How did the lazer react whilst going over the denim jacket's metal buttons? Cheers
Hi there, well because we used our CO2 laser it went over the metal parts without actually engraving them.
@@TrotecLaserCanada ok thank you. Interesting...
