Wet Sanding and Buffing Fresh Paint!

In this video we are getting the rest of the acura TL put back together. I have the front end done, the full a-spec aero kit installed, and a full color sand and buff on the entire car. If your question is "how soon to wet sand and buff after a car is painted" or "how to wet sand and buff a freshly painted car" this video will answer those questions. The process starts by sanding the car down with multiple grits of sandpaper. I start off with 1,000 grit and work my way up to 3,000 grit. I increase the grit by 500 in between each of the sanding steps. 1,000 1,500 2,000 2,500 3,000. After the car is sanded down we buffed it with cutting compound on a foam pad and polishing compound on a microfiber pad. You're really churning out this work, and even keeping up with your intros (which are always fun). I really love watching your paint jobs and bodywork. What you did with the grill on the car was a subtle, but really great upgrade, and agree with the body kit. You really take what you have, and do so much with it. Beyond the cars you're a really hard working and awesome guy. You're the only channel I always remember to "like" the video. heh. 😀
All that and no good pic of the front grille all done and installed? At least the paper reflection was hilarious! Also, I'm drinking a Shock Top while watching.

I'm about to do a full compound and polish on my 07 TL's original paint and cannot thank you enough for showing your technique around the body lines. The same process for sanding should be the same as what I will do. The car is looking mint.

( Edited context: Cadbury's Purple is very similar and was a popular colour on boy racer cars in the UK back in the day. Oh yeah 'glass and a half was a Cadbury advertising kind of thing )

My first big boy car was an Acura TL Type S, still my favorite, had to sell it because it developed an unfixable electrical issue

Bode that Cobalt blue is absolutely gorgeous! That is a BEAUTIFUL paint choice. I wish I could paint my 2013 BMW 128i which is Cashmere Silver Metallic this color. I have also really loved Honda B95P Electron Blue Pearl. I painted my 1997 Civic coupe in that color back in 2015 and I used all Nason products.
I love this! You gotta get the cerekote trim kit and do that cowl and wipers unless you are planning on trim paint.

Beautiful colour man. My ultimate daddy mobile... Here in South Africa we have the Honda Accord Type-S with a K24 motor. But that said, I'm very happy with my '06 K20A4 CR-V, but this is so nice man. Enjoy!
Those sanding discs are meant to be used dry, they release some stuff when you use them, kovax or trizact

Have you tried the RPS spray cups? Rather expensive but it all is sooo but yea. I just prefer them over other style with the throw away bag cup which both are wayyyy better than cleaning out a damn aluminum cup lol
Normally I'm not a fan of this but with that color it might look cool to tint/darken the sidemarker(s) and the tail lights just a little. Not blacked out..just a little bit. Love the color .
