I still come back to this live performance and hope this video never gets taken down. This song is just pure beauty and power that captivates me today as much as when I first heard this. Like facing the final boss and giving it your all where the stakes couldn't be any higher. Just magnificant.
In my opinion, this live version of Mezame is way better than the studio version (Wakana, Keiko, Kaori, and Yuriko just sound so damn good to my ears).
The instrumentation as a whole is a lot better here too. I'm much more fond of the percussion here. Everything in this gives me a bigger impact than the studio version tbh, to the point of making me stop listening to the studio version entirely.

Yuki kajiura is one of my top composers and i dont have problems if you prefer her works over others but to say that the other 2 that i mentioned is not on the same level as her is pure ignorance.

I like it much more live than in the studio, but my favorite Mezame is on Reprise Vol 01, you can hear the 4 voices clearly but fitting together perfectly, beautiful, I listen to it over and over again.
Kaori has to stop a little to catch a breath at 2:12 XD. I love seeing them improving over time, this is their first live together, and many flaws, but full of energy.
Imo one of the best OSTs (next to Macross Plus and Gits) and probably the reason why I started watching anime seriously on the internet back in the mid 2000s until today.
Mai-HiME had its flaws (Sunrise...you ALWAYS find ways to make me dislike you) but Mezame is perfection. I wouldn't say its my FAVORITE Kajiura track but HOLY FUCK it is FANTASTIC either way.
Two girls of Kalafina are in this band, FictionJunction, too. Wakana and Keiko, they're pretty amazing. And Yuki Kajiura always plays the piano, since she composes her songs using it and, as seen in Parallel Hearts MV, she appears in it playing piano. :D

Nanri Yuuka's performance as Nao was also freaking top notch. (In Mai Hime/Otome). Such a great singer/actress (whether or not she's singing here lol, i didnt watch it yet). She needs to be in more anime and CDs
i watched My-Hime in my high school years when it first airing, the fighting was amazing and also the beast in the show are well design(especially the satellite beast), but the story are really flawed. On other hand, the music written by Yuki Kajiura elevate the show to such a height, the show still remain a place in my heart because of the great music.

And then I'm watching and is it weird if I love how energetic the third girl from the left is? Also, can anybody produce 4-part sheet music for the vocals? That's a lot to ask but . . . I must show this to my choir teacher.
I'm so jealous. I couldn't make it to AX this year. I've seen Kajiura live in concert before, but it was an orchestral concert rather than a full Fiction Junction show. I can't wait until the next time i can see her.

I second that. I particularly like how this version sneaks in a little epic reprise of ensei, and not just the part that mezame already had in there.
