It sounds condescending when you repeat, “I thought this was self explanatory. If it worked as easily as you show to get the cover off, people wouldn’t be looking for help. The cover doesn’t come off easily, it’s a flawed design.
It's not that I can't follow directions, but I have tried to remove the back for over an hour and it WON'T come off. I was able to use my nail to get under the crease, but it still won't come off.
Try this: tap the back of remote on hard surface couple times. Tap, don't blast. Try to break free stuck cover. Use a rubber jar remover over back cover to slide cover off in direction of arrow. Once it comes off, replace batteries. Spray a little WD 40 on the back cover inside where it slides in the track. Wipe any excess wd 40 off! Cover should slide on and off easily after that. The hard part is getting it off the first time. Worked for me.
Hey thanks for posting, that's really good advice!! To everyone who sees this comment, I suggest you do the above (of course making sure cover is COMPLETELY dry and clean before you put it back on), or if you're like me and you don't care, once the cover has been removed.... Just leave it off 😆
It's not that complicated as long as the dang remote opens like it's supposed to. I got here because it didn't want to open, despite using enough force that I'm slightly worried about snapping it in half. I wanted to make sure it's supposed to be opened the way I think it should be, before I pried it open with a very small screwdriver. Which I just did. It felt like the dang thing was superglued together. I have the batteries replaced and it's working now.
Thanks for the update as to getting it working! And yeah I know, it almost feels as if the dang covers super glued on, I still have troubles with that till this day
I'd say just try it again from the beginning (taking batteries out and put back in, then try pairing again). I'm sorry but other than that I'm not sure, I've only had to do it twice!
Thanks for commenting but this is a video on remote battery replacement, nothing to do with streaming. I may be able to help though if you can tell me: what TV do u have? where is live stream coming from (TV itself, streaming platform, connected laptop, etc.)? By "use" do you mean how to access or sign up? I have emulated app for $100 a year via "jailbroken?" FireStick that gives me a couple hundred channels (including PPV) plus Freevie and PrimeVid via prime membership. I have access to way more than I could ever watch.
Self explanatory doesn't account for years of food and dirty hands clogging the channel that the cover slides on. If it's stuck, like mine was, I used some solvent( goof off) on a toothpick in the Crack between the cover and the unit And it eventually came free.
This is a very helpful video, but unnecessarily insulting to those who have not previously dealt with "squeezing and sliding" in response to that arrow sign. It's the same attitude as when folks in their twenties use the contraction "y'just," meaning "because I know what I mean, it should be simple for you, and you must be an idiot if you don't get it."
How many times did you say "it's pretty self explanatory"? Condescending much? Well, guess what? It still didn't answer my question because mine doesn't have the arrows. Mine is solar and battery powered and I have spent the better part of a frigging hour trying to find out how to get to the batteries because I don't want to solar charge it. So go ahead and roll your eyes and condescend to me if you want Mr. 557 subscribers.
I'll never buy another Samsung TV ever again because of this "self explanatory" remote. Of it was so easy, no one eould look it up. The video's I've looked at fail to explain how to open it, when it simply won't open.

In hindsight I'll def admit it does, but my tone of "condescending" wasn't intentional.
Thank you - it is a pain to take off that cover! Your video is the best! 😊

Hi I've beem slacking so sorry for the late reply but did you ever figure it out?
I feel your pain… 😢

I cannot thank you enough for this video! You saved me a call to Best Buy and a Geek Squad appointment! Thank you once again!
You're very welcome! Thanks for the feedback!
thank you ! you are the only video out of five that I've watched that showed the step of pairing. worked!
Thank you for the feedback, glad it worked for ya!!
Thanks from the UK!
Very welcome!!
😭
I thought it was easy too. And I thought I was strong. But I still can't open this damn thing
I can't do it.
It's a pain for sure! Just gotta get a decent grip then it's all about the motion
I know how it's supposed to come off, but it's stuck tight. A screwdriver and rubber gloves are my recommendation.
Thanks 👍
I tried pressing those two buttons but it still won't pair.. Any ideas?
I'd say just try it again from the beginning (taking batteries out and put back in, then try pairing again). I'm sorry but other than that I'm not sure, I've only had to do it twice!
But if you get it working let us know what you did please
I tried removing the power cord from the wall for 1 minute. Then turned on the tv again and it worked fine 😂
@@diadastin7887 Glad to hear and thanks for letting us know how u fixed it!!
I still can’t get mine to open
How so?
Thank you. Mine was stuck.
yes it really dose work thank you so much
you're welcome!
Thanks for your help 👍
Welcome!
Thanks mate!
Very welcome sir!
I need to know how to use my TV live stream

My remote cover was stuck & I could not get it open 😂😂 so thanks for the pry open tip.
Yeah something that should be a lot easier.... Yet somehow isn't haha
@@letechnology1774 you'd think taking a remote back off would be the easiest part. Smh. Thanks again!
@@MizDimples You're very welcome, glad I could help!! Thx for the comment/feedback, it truly helps!
Absolutely hate this remote. I'm gonna end up breaking it just to replace the batteries. Remotes in the 90's were better than this crap
Actually.... I don't just remember but also agree with you
Tbh I didnt watch this video to see how it opens I came here to see what kind of cell does the remote use😂
Good point! Added to title!

Nope - didn't work.
Ok so what exactly didn't work and what'd ya try so far?

Yeah. Some of them like mine are IMPOSSIBLE TO OPEN! It's not because I have a low IQ. The thing is STUCK! Your comments are very condescending
