I know this song won’t be everyone’s taste but it’s so campy and fun and also a parody but also catchy and about self love and I love it. There’s not very many K-Pop groups that uplift me like (G)I-dle does. Don’t get me wrong, I love a lot of K-Pop songs, but so many are about being in love with someone else. There’s not much that deals with self love and insecurity. I think 2NE1 and BLACKPINK are good representations of confidence too.
If you are open you will find many groups who also promote self love and confidence.... ...very few actually have you to reflect about yourself and help you grow as individual......also the concept of being badass equals to confidence is getting old.... ...you can be confident without coming across as intimidating, there is grace in humility......hope many realise this....
Surely this song is more shocking and sensational to listen to in a conservative country like Korea. Soyeon knows it well.
In Korea, many people still feel uncomfortable with idols wearing mini skirts.

Blackpink's lyrics lowkey drag other women. Lots of their lyrics have the 'I'm better than the others' 'not like other girls' lyrics. I personally don't think blackpink's music should be taken seriously to feel confident. Their journey is inspiring tho
People called Nxde a weird song and now this too but I loved both of them so much 🤣 Maybe G-Idle's musical style is right up my alley, I might listen to their entire discography.

Imo is on purpose, like they KNOW people clown on their lyrics but at the same time those nonsensical English end up being some of the most iconic parts of the songs. Is like “risky, risky, wiggy, wiggy, this an emergency”, “fantastic, fantastic, elastic, elastic” or “sexy, free and single I’m ready to bingo”. Is something silly that ads flavor but the increasingly western exposure kinda of killed the campiness in KPop.

@@ahmadrifaldi4591 for example....."Boob" is one , and she obviously wasn't saying only one of her breasts is hot😂😂😂so it should have been boobs. It was intentionally done that way and I think that makes it even catchier....but some people are ticked off by the grammatical errors and pronunciation.

From a feminist POV before being a fan, this song is so empowering and great and fun, the only things I didn't like I was the catcalling and Shu's line of "ladies over there are copying my style" This line confused the hell out of me when I first watched the mv, because my interception of the mv was different, the way I understood it is that each girl was empowering another one, (Yuqi and Shu) vs (Miyeon and Minnie) we can see that from the scene where Miyeon catches Minnie with a guy in her party and it looked as if the guy was a player and Miyeon, instead of lashing out at the girl, she hugs her and they leave the guy. And then there's the Soyeon part, perhaps after the dancing battle Soyeon met them at the party and they empowered her to be confident, after they met Soyeon and all tried to help her, it seems either one of these happened:
A- both previous teams I mentioned (Yuqi + Shu & Miyeon + Minnie) got close and felt the female connection because we can see Shu and Yuqi hanging out at the end and looking proud of Soyeon's confidence, while also Miyeon commenting on Soyeon's post that they should have a girls night out.
B- Yuqi and Shu helped her to be confident, making Miyeon want to hang out with her.
I like A more, but I think B is what really happened.
