I was living in sexual immorality and alcoholism and God changed me because I realized I was wrong and I deserved God's punishment. But he had mercy on me and gave me grace and mercy. Very interesting that this same topic was part of the sermon at my new church today. My daughter came out two years ago and since then I have essentially left the matter on the back burner. Truthfully, I hadn't even spent much time in prayer over it. Recently, though, I have found my heart torn as I give it more thought. I listened to the testimony of Spencer Klavan - a theologian and self-proclaimed "gay Christian conservative. His testimony is compelling, but I am still uncertain. I find myself desperate to "save" my child, but after today... I am beginning to feel like it is a battle that perhaps I am not supposed to be in control of. Anyone that reads this, please pray for me and my daughter, my bug.
You should sit down with your pastor and seek counsel. As a pastor I am more than happy to chat with you or find someone in your area that will. Praying for you Dustin. Share the Gospel with your Daughter and call her to repentance in love. The most loving thing for you to do is pray for her and keep sharing the Gospel and God’s word. God does the work, you need just be faithful with the opportunities even if it cost you the relationship for a little while.

Canadian here. I had the privilege to be at James Coates' church on January 16th to hear his sermon and now my goal is to listen to all 5,000ish sermons of all the faithful men who preached on "Conversion Sunday."
I can't help but think that the 3rd Sunday of every January should become a new Christian holiday where every faithful pastor preaches on Biblical Marriage and Sexuality.
In all my minimal authority, we shall call it "Conversion Sundays" the third Sunday of every January!

The Two-Kingdom people are thinking--the church should not get involved in politics, that is the realm of common grace and natural law. Meanwhile, while the church retreated, paganism slid right in and there is no commonality or neutrality between good and evil. If you want to push for Two-Kingdom theology, you will end up looking like Canada. Churches need to stand up and denounce this and I am thankful for White, Apologia, the Ezra Institute in Canada, Wilson's work in Moscow, Idaho, and many others who are boldly speaking out against this evil in our cultures that we have shamefully let in while we retreated.
They are not teaching, leading or feeding the congregation by ignoring such an important societal push. It's everywhere and it's extremely important to discuss. If they're too afraid of this topic I'd be afraid to be under their leadership.

Very good sermon Dr. White! I am glad to see a man get up and preach from the Word of God on this subject without holding back. I knew one man back in the early 90s get his church taken from him temporally for preaching out against this sin. It has already arrived in America, it just hasn't advanced to the point of Canada yet, but it will if Christian men and women do not stand up and be overcomers and advance the Kingdom of Jesus Christ in the here and now.

I am so glad White joined in this and that others are speaking out against this in Canada. In so doing, they are speaking out against it in America because as he said, it's coming to America. I think another passage that supports Dr. White on the emphasis on the verse "...of such WERE some of you...", is Romans 1:32 at the end of the description of those vile passions, among which is homosexuality, is the phrase "...those who PRACTICE such things are worthy of death. He even includes those who don't practice those things but encourage it or condone it. Does that sound anything like our culture now? It is a direct attack on the Gospel of Christ as is the notion that women who have an abortion are victims. It removes the opportunity for repentance. A false gospel.

Wouldn’t a homosexual no longer be a homosexual if he repented and was washed in the blood of Jesus? Therefore a statement that homosexuals cannot inherit the Kingdom of God would be a true statement? We no longer walk in that way of life and we would lose the “label”.
Unfortunately even some sincere Christians who come to Jesus still have same sex attraction for the rest of their lives. The Bible clearly condemns sex outside of marriage between husband and wife. It does not condemn same sex attraction that may or may not ever be healed. It is part of living in a fallen, imperfect world and body. Our sanctification will be made perfect when Jesus comes again. In the meantime, we have a responsibility to follow Jesus at all costs and to lovingly support and nurture struggling Christians through discipleship.
The passages I’ve studied address sexual activity outside of marriage between husband and wife as sin, not same sex attraction.

I am a LGBT person. There are so many things in my heart. All I can is that before you are sad about this bill, talk to people who have gone through conversion therapy. I did - and the consequences were awful.
I hope everyone can speak their mind - but the focused, structured attempts to change someone's sexual orientation...so horrendously damaging.

With all due respect, it's not the conversion therapy that is the issue. The issue is your unwillingness and inability to repent of your sin. You desire your sin over God over truth. The gospel of Jesus Christ converts the heart, changes a person, frees them. The gospel is the power of God to salvation. I tell you this in love. If I hated you I would lie to you. I cannot lie because your very eternal soul is at stake. I pray God will open your eyes and heart to the gospel. I pray He will grant you repentance. You are still in the dark and cannot see. Pray for God to give you faith and repentance.
The whole gospel is about conversion.

A wise woman once said "you gotta go through hell on earth to get to heaven". How do you know we arent in Hell now? I ask these things and much more, every day. I was also saved at age 7. Depends what you mean by that. If you mean a person who struggles with their feelings and are repenting of them, laying them at the feet of the cross and pleading for freedom, then sure.
No, you can’t. One of the “clobber” verses is 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 that, in that list, says homosexuals will not inherit the Kingdom of God (i.e. they go to Hell). However, verse 11 Paul says “such WERE some of you.” There is a past-tense. We can’t get around these texts, they’re clear no matter how hard people try to twist it. Do not be deceived, verse 9 says.
