    I like the high G on my banjo uke. It sounds more like a banjo to me. However, I prefer low G on my tenors.

    I have been fiddling with reentrant tuning (high G) with the banjo uke. Claw hammer style works best with high G as the drone string. it has been a boat load of fun experimenting with Claw hammer on the uke and the banjo uke. Thanks for the great comparison. It also seems that some songs sound better with a low G, and some with the high G.
    Thanks again!!!

    I have low g fitted to most of my ukes which I prefer but on my 3 banjolees they all have high g I never thought of adding a low g to one of them which I'm tempted to do now after watching your video Thank you very much 👍🪕

    It sounds more like a banjo (which is what I'm after) with high G. Plus, claw doesn't work with low G.

    Great video! I prefer the high G, when I do fingerpicking, it is closer to the 5 string bluegrassy sound.

    Great comparison Kelly! They both sound amazing, but I guess I’m more of a traditionalist, I prefer the high g on a banjo uke. I have high g and low G on my ukes and find that low doesn’t always suit some songs when strumming, but is beautiful when picking.

    • @fourstringstrummer
      @fourstringstrummer  Месяц назад +3

      Hey Wanda! I kind of like high G all around but there are certain songs that I really like the low G on. I think it has more to do with the style I play where I tend to emphasize the high G a lot

    • @wandam3295
      @wandam3295 Месяц назад +2

      @@fourstringstrummer I tend to play that way also. Next string change, I think I will try to change one of my low G tenors back to high. Not sure if it will work because I had to have the nut adjusted for the low G. 🤞🏻

    • @fourstringstrummer
      @fourstringstrummer  Месяц назад +2

      @@wandam3295 give it a whirl. When I change out to low G I recommend people (that are just trying it) use a wound low G. These can be the same diameter as an unwound string and may not require any widening of the slot.
