Thanks for answering the exact question I needed answered. Just started to foil and needed to know if I should try and turn while up on the foil or board more on the water. Thank you
Really enjoyed this. As an experienced kiter/foiler, I only wish I got tips like this when I first started. As a video enthusiast, I enjoy your footage, editing, narrative and quality of production, (especially the drone shots). Continued success to you both. Hope to join you on one of your getaways. True Aloha Spirit!
Man so awesome getting feedback like this after pouring energy into a video! Really appreciate you taking the time to show love! Would be stoked to have ya on one of our trips dude, hit me up if you have any questions about anything. Antigua and Barbuda is a true PARADISE for kiteboarding and kite foiling. Hopefully see ya soon!
On the Solent there is theory that a seat harness really helps you learn to toeside a foil due to the lower balance point helping you lean against the pull of the kite as you come round the turn. Has this idea made it to Antigua?
I'd say it's for sure easier with straps. Only downside with straps is you can get stuck in them and wipe out harder at times vs being able to jump off and away from the foil. But in general having straps helps a lot.
I hoped to get more tips regarding the footwork when transitioning. What sequence do the feet change and where to pressure the foil in order to not upset the balance. I can rip a turn, sail switch, but feet transitioning is not consistent...
Yeah dude I always seem to miss something with these videos. Would have been good to dive deeper into that. But the biggest tip is to learn how to do it on the water and not foiling. Gives you a lot more room for error and once you get the on the water switches dialed, doing it while foiling become a lot easier. You are basically are going from a heel side wakeboard stance to a ski stance for a second and then around to a toe side wakeboard stance, keeping pressure flat and down on the board the whole time. If you can get a video of yourself trying it I'd love to walk you through what's going wrong over on Patreon - www.patreon.com/JakeKelsick
Jake Kelsick thanks for getting back with this! There’s one shot in your vid that shows it indeed. I’ll try that instead of a one-step of to other side.
Hey Jake nice video. Have you ever used a foil at a cable park before? Also I will definitely think about coming down to Antigua to kite with you at some point
Do not agree..... If you can ride a surfboard and turn then no problem turning while up on a foil... why would you come down to do a turn.. Never needed to do it from dot... silly idea
Each to their own. It is pedantic to wear a helmet in those conditions (no waves on flat water) though an impact vest would make the wip outs less painful.

Thanks mate. Some awesome tips. “Put in the hours” was a key take-away for me as a beginner foiler
thanks guys for the tips
What were the winds when this was done and what size kite?

Great tips Jake. Stoked to see Tona doing kites!
Thanks, guys! Yup, it's a BIG DEAL and a big step for us as a brand. It's been awesome extending the product line.
Can you do a video on how to set up a kite on a catamaran! And also launching it from there….
Great video Jake

Do you think it´s better to start to learn foiling strapless or with staps?
I'd say it's for sure easier with straps. Only downside with straps is you can get stuck in them and wipe out harder at times vs being able to jump off and away from the foil. But in general having straps helps a lot.
Great video. You two are the best. I hope you will have Catamaran next year. I would love to come down with my son and kite
haha You are the man Robbie! Would love to have you guys. We should have openings until about July 2020 so let's make it happen!
Trip sounds epic, gonna see if me and my girlfriend can get away for a Katamaran trip, be wicked to go foiling in Antigua !
Perfect trip for a couple like you guys dude! Hit up on email if you have any questions about anything!

Good luck dude! Have fun with it, can be super frustrating at first but is MAGIC when you crack it!
Great vid. jake where would you recomend staying by the beach where you shot the vid?
Durchamns Bay or Ocean Point are the best spots close by 🤙🏻
Where are you on the beach in Antigua?
This was shot at the main kite beach in Antigua Jabberwock beach.
@@JakeKelsick - Thanks - It is one of the best kiting beaches I have enjoyed - beautiful, never crowded, variety of areas, ... Great videos. Thanks.
Found it. Jabberwock beach! I would love to come there sometime! But I live in Europe! :)) complicate.
Second time watching this vid, awesome vid

I have use foil in cable wake park and it is very good place to learn foiling. In my opinion 😄
@@VillePetter I have seen people bring their foils to the cable park I go to. I have never ridden one but it looks a lot of fun.
Never used one at a cable park but imagine its a great place to learn. Same as behind a boat or ski, can be easier not having to deal with the kite.
Yep, it is great place to learn. Especially 2.0 wake cable because if you fall you don't need to swim back to starting point.
@@VillePetter you have a point
Congrats to MAG!!! U R COOL GUYS ;)
Yeeeeeeew! yeah man, it's awesome being able to move as a unit! Thanks for showing love! All the best Oleg!
Saving my money for the cat trip. Hopefully see you in a year.
Haha look forward to it dude!
Hey Jake,
