- We have a Greatest Game. In Week One of an NFL Season. This year is the one that's going to kill me. No contest, I will be dead by December.
This game was a thing. No words can properly describe it. This video is mainly rambling with some random coherence in thought. It best resembles what it was like to watch this game live.

I knew it was gonna be a Greatest Game. This game wasn't a soap opera, it was comical and action-packed and heart-stopping
@@dnasty312 It was one of those shitty B movies where the movie keeps pulling contrivances out of its ass to make the characters suffer, and you're like "come on, this writing is so over-the-top and unrealistic," but by the end you're loving how stupid it is.

It's because it means his hometown team is sucking at the moment, which was frequently true recently, so why not "Days of our Penguins", for example, they are always choking now, "Days of our Pirates" would make more sense, but then Tree would REALLY go insane
Adding the theme song would've made it perfect
That "Here I come to save the daaaaaayyyy!" playing over the Steelers defense every time they're on screen pretty much sums up this game perfectly.

Especially because teams rarely carry a backup long snapper on the active game-day roster or even the 53-man roster. If you can only carry 46 people on game-day, you're likely having your starting 11 on offense and defense, a backup QB, a punter, placekicker, and long snapper. That leaves 20 backup positions...19 if you carry 3 active QBs on game day. No room to waste a roster spot on a backup long snapper who can do nothing else.
The regular snapper can't do long snapping since that requires 2 hands rather than 1.

I'm in my 30s, and last Sunday felt like the Pittsburgh Steelers playing a Greatest Hits Album. a 75-minute encapsulation of every game I have watched that franchise play since I became aware of the sport of football.
More like 3 and a half hours considering how ridiculously long NFL games are, which is why I stopped watching full games. As a Broncos fan, I only watch highlights now as well as my favorite sport in the NHL.
It's so funny because I was texting my friends "this is the most Bengals game ever to occur." I think both our franchises had peak "classic ____ bullshit" days at the same time, resulting in the heat death of the football universe.

I’m telling you, the biggest cursed position in all of sports history is the back up long snapper. When the announcer was saying that they have a backup long snapper before that extra point, I knew he was gonna fuck it up. I called it before it happened. It always happens. The backup long snapper will nail every long snap in the game, except when it matters most. I knew he was gonna blow the second one also. My Giants lost a playoff game in 03 I think because a back up long snapper fucked up the snap. I’ve seen it happen many times throughout my life watching football.
The backup long snapper is usually one who hasn't done it in years. Don't remind me of Trey Junkin! (Even if Junkin is the prototype of today's long snapper.)
What an introduction to another year of AFC North Football! This is a very high standard for the rest of these division games

I didn't truly become a football fan until 2008-09, but this game finally taught and demonstrated to me how Rex Grossman got to play in a Superbowl in February 2007.
It's a shame the game didn't end in a tie. This felt like one of those games that deserved that honor.

Entertaining content as always. I attended this game and as it was heading to overtime, I knew there would be a “The Greatest Game” video made about it. Both Bengals games I’ve attended over the past two seasons have had “The Greatest Game” videos made about them (Packers-Bengals). Those two games were practically mirror images of each other.
That Packers Bengals game was something else. Especially with how good McPherson was in the playoffs for the Bengals.
