When I was a kid, we would take slices of bread, butter them and sprinkle cinnamon sugar over the tops then place them under the broiler for a few minutes. That sugar would get crusty and yummy. I haven't thought of that in an age or two. Thanks for reminding me!

I made this donut bread last night for my husband and I to enjoy this morning with pumpkin spice coffee! The butter coating gave it such a yummy firm texture outside of the bread. My mother in law has even asked for the recipe! I’ll be emailing her Catherine’s web link 😊

.....my Grandmother taught me to use white vinegar, with regular Milk, if one didn't have Buttermilk on hand. I had not heard of using the lemon juice.
