I really like how you changed the ordinary c2c block stitch by doing an extended dc and the advise of using a smaller hook yet still having it turn out not stiff.
I’m glad you said that. It was my immediate thought too, about the stitches being tight. I can’t wait to try c2c this way! Also, just discovered this channel and it’s becoming a new favourite 😊
I love this, making granny squares 5×5 inches with different coloured flowers in the middle for a blanket as a gift for daughters double bed & wanted a square in-between each, this is perfect, & love your explaining how to do it, thank you so much.
I just looked at the videos on your channel, You have built up an impressive body of stitch pattern samples. I subscribed because of all your clear concise videos. I like the use of the extended DC in the C2C blanket. I usually make C2C for a new baby gift and they always look so nice.
Terrific tutorial. I still haven’t tried a c2c, but your explanation definitely brings me closer to making one. Thank you! Congratulations on getting over 5K! 🦋
I’m subscribing to your channel on your birthday. I hope you’re having a wonderful day… or evening since I’m 11 hours behind. Thank you for this tutorial. I feel more confident in trying this stitch and practice increasing and decreasing, as well as doing borders. 🫶🏼
Thank you so much. Im so grateful for your support it means so much. I thought I'd be lucky to get anyone to watch my channel nevermind superthanks like you do ❤️❤️❤️
Where did you get that awesome crochet hook. That looks so cool. I love your accent also. I think it's awesome that men crochet also, and it's not judged as a women's craft anymore. And everyone making beautiful things has to be a beautiful person inside. I love crocheting.
That's such a lovely comment. I used to be very ashamed of it and scared of failure so my business was called all things knitty, then when I learnt to crochet it became all things knittys crochet channel. So noone could connect me with it if I failed the rebranding to Colin's yarn magic has been a huge lesson to believe in myself. The hook (or my magic wand lol) was custom made it's a unique hook made by "Keiran made" on Etsy he's in Australia so took a while to arrive but worth the wait. As it's custom it was rather expensive £75 with international postage but I treated myself.
Hi from Ireland I just found you what a lovely idea to make it grow faster.thank you so much for sharing.look forward to watching all your tutorials.🍀🍀
I have made only two c2c projects, one was a throw for my son, other I did squares and sewed them together. I disliked both of them. I never liked slip stitching under the bar leaving that little gap, your method seems to tighten that up a bit so thanks! And your hook look amazing! Does that little ridge part bother your thumb if you crochet a lot?
I too dislike the gaps c2c makes. The hook is very comfortable however I do only use this for my tutorials so haven't spent countless hours with it. The people who support the channel have been very generous so I treated myself to the hook so I want to keep it good lol
@@ColinsYarnMagic time, after slip stitching into that chain space, instead of adding the three next stitches into that same space, I inserted it into the stitches, but of course that slows you down a bit.
It would but I personally don't like the double yarn over to start a Trc I find the posts move too easily along the ch4 the extdc holds the block in position making the pattern look the same throughout with no gaps

Thank you so much I love this type of feedback it's definitely my personal go to for a quick blanket

Thank you for watching that patchwork style blanket sounds gorgeous I'd love to see it finished
I have never seen a C2C done with extended DC. It is now in my library of stitches. Thank you.

I loved this one I saw dawns comment saying that so it made me laugh I also love your accent lol In the west country we all sound the same lol
You had me at the first sound of that Scottish accent, Colin ! [grin] Although I was, obviously, seeking material about C2C.

Hi Deborah from sunny Glasgow lol. You're so kind ☺️
I love C2C, but I don't like working with hook sizes smaller than 5.00mm. This will look great and it'll work up faster.😊
I think if you use a thicker yarn and a 5mm hook it'll look great
Gorgeous 😍😍😍
Thank you!! 😊
Wow I just might be able to follow this method! Thank you for the wonderful tutorial ❤
❤️thank you for watching ☺️
I love C2C, thank you for this change and easy pattern . Please let me know where your hook is from!!!!!!
Thank you so much. The hook was custom made by www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1437113140/custom-crochet-hook-standard-resin

Gorgeous yarn choice
Lov it x
I like this just to keep it as triangle shawl… just keep adding rows to your desire length . I think it will look good.

@@ColinsYarnMagicso it’s not an interchangeable hook?
Yes it comes with all the basic size heads, the screw mechanism is really strong they don't wiggle loose
I like the look of your crochet hook. Like the look of your patern took. Where did you get your hook from
Thank you. The hook was custom made by a seller on Etsy his store is called Keiran made

Thank you I'm hoping to get to 5k before my birthday then I'll be doing a £50 voucher to use against anything the winner can choose anything.

This would work the same with US treble Crochet
