Glad you got to experience some of the Amish culture. I live this everyday. Horse and buggies on the roads are a norm here. it's a rotally different way of life. We also have Shady Maple Buffet, the worlds largest (Amish) buffet, 20 minutes away.
@rfd212, I live in Delaware County and day trips were countless for us to Lancaster County, but would you believe I have never been to Shady Maple! Gonna get there soon, though....have a gift card....🤣
I've been there and, like you, came away with a great appreciation for the variety of people in different areas of the Country. Good to see you Joe and Jan! Seattle has a Decanter of the Space Needle. But I didn't like Jim Beam. They do not have restaurants and stores like this anywhere, it seems! 😢
Thanks again for sharing your experience with us, there's a Amish community in mio Michigan and I think they are awesome people, very nice always friendly and smiling 😊. You guys have a great day 🌲
Great road trip!!!! I saw some Great collectibles...antiques... I've got a problem!!! Need to go to antiques anonymous!!! Lol... The decanters.. Sooo Cool... omg!! I love driving through those little towns.... Rosey, I'm with you on the cheese fudge... my brain just can't put them together... I'll trust you all that they were good!! Lol. Thanks for the trip!!!
Really fun change of pace vid as 2024 comes to end. You picked the exact Fridge Magnet I would have chosen. That decanter museum was quite the collection. And best for last that Cheese place I'd love to visit it and buy some! WOW I also never had cheese Fudge before. Well done Marc, Good choice of background music too, fitting for this episode. THUMBS UP from The Card Shop in Bastrop, Louisiana
Really enjoyed the video. One of the best summers I had was a visit to Lancaster PA. We took the buggy ride through a covered bridge which I had never seen one before. It was just so peaceful. Food was amazing. Somewhere in my treasures is an Amish straw had and Amish cookbook. Good times!
I think it's funny how completely opposite we are about eggs, I've never gotten used to store bought. They have no flavor. lol. I'd go just for the cinnamon roll. Another fun watch, thanks
I used to get farm fresh eggs from a friend of mine and man, they were ao much better and no chemicals! Its tough to find down here in MB but I will continue to try!
Ever been to the Amish Jam Jelly Honey House on rainbow? 100s of different canned items. I posted a video awhile back. It's pretty awesome and they have an amazing peanut butter marshmallow fluff.
Happy you got to experience Amish cooking. I miss it--not a big Amish community here in Myrtle Beach haha You were also near Kilbuck, Ohio where my husbands family are from. It is beautiful countryside! Did ya like the Longerberger basket? Cool right?
I live in Minnesota, south part is many Amish ,but must remember many Amish are no strict Amish, many sects,so look at it as a experience, there is much out there that if you look at them you will see many different ways of life.( this is Insanely_ Average as you know me.)
Great video Marc. We live close to Amish here in Illinois. It’s so cool to go and see everything. Thanks for sharing. 🎉🎉
Such a fun day with family ❤
