- “The Color Purple” star Fantasia Barrino says she's the victim of racial profiling and was kicked out of an Airbnb rental house during a rainstorm. She says the Airbnb host accused her of having a loud party after seeing balloons and a game truck dropped off. Barrino rented the house for her son's 12th birthday party. She says right after the kids had a late-night hot chocolate sip and paint class, they were all asked to leave without warning.
Of course its because of the color of their skin ughh read the agreement, everyone makes everything racist

I am a Airbnb host and I don’t allow parties, if I notice signs of a party being thrown I charge a 500 dollar penalty fee.
These places cater to a certain demographic, while holding firm bias. That's why I would never rent from this agency. I don't party, but there is a systemic RACIST bias, stereotype with certain groups being overt and covertly discriminatory with these rentals. Renting spaces that probably have cameras, even in the private areas: bathroom, bedrooms all over; keep it, no thank you.😑

@scilines Just bc a property has a hot tub, fire pit, and a game room does NOT mean its meant for Airbnb parties. Airbnb will kick both a host and a guest off the platform for violating their party ban and community disturbance policy. According to Guest Reliability Standards, if a host has not clarified their rules for visitors (she had a ton of unregistered visitors), you must ask the host.

At 11 something at night-she gets a call that there were numerous complaints that they were screaming yelling playing loud music and throwing a party which wasn't true. She was told that there were pictures and video evidence of it -she asked who provided that because it simply wasn't true.
Someone clearly lied and saw the gaming bus and decided that it must be a party bus. They said that they have video then whoever decided to use that for 'evidence' needs to produce it.
Otherwise If I was her I would sue.
You're really going to pretend that this isn't a thing -black people rent an Airbnb and for some reason or another they're kicked out in the middle of the night. Police get calls that theres a kidnapping or suspicious activity when it's nothing more than a complaint based off of bias. The police arrive and there's nothing going on.
Within the video she even addressed that she stated to the person while on the phone do you hear a party? Because everyone is asleep and there is no DJ and no music.

For one the limit of overnight guests, limit of vehicles on the property, potential noise issues, potential damage to the home with the paint in the hands of children inside the home. The number of guests in the home during the day and other concerns or issues that she could have been in violation of. But to automatically claim it is a racial matter without any evidence is highly irresponsible and even illegal by slandering the property owners.
Yes you can. As long as the host has set the property aside for that and knows the number of guests. You're talking about the stories where 1 or 2 people signed up for an AirBnB and invited like 20 friends over. That's not okay. I'm sure she told the hosts that this was for a kids birthday party.

It is irresponsible to make claims of racisism without some form of proof that it has occurred. It does nothing but discount occasions when true and real racism does occur!
I expected more from her and believed her to be more respectable than this. Unless she has some form of proof, she needs to publicly appologize, or the owners should consider legal steps against her for slander.

It's an AirBnB with a signed contract of rules that she was obliged to follow as agreement to lease, and apparently got caught violating those rules and was asked to leave just as any other person would have been asked. Yet she wants to run around and scream racism without any evidence to support that claim. It's called slander! Look it up.

AirBNB is not for parties. I am an AirBNB neighbor and I call the cops for very loud noise after 10. We, the neighbors surrounding the house , try our best to keep this a very quiet neighborhood like it used to be before the house next to us became a party rental. It’s not racism, it’s excessive noise. Parties also destroy the house sometimes. I know it doesn’t apply here but fights, drugs and excessive trash come with parties. Rent a party house that is located in a commercial area. You won’t have any problems.
Perhaps you should try listening to what the video ACTUALLY states - and that is - the entire story could not yet be disclosed. Furthermore, you can call and give a warning w/out kicking people out.
