Using your build and advice with the spamming blessing of kings, I've been side tanking for MC for a while now as a prot pally for my guild, but your tips helped me do it a heck of alot smoother. And with the blessing of king's trick I've saved my raid team from all dying when all the tanks(but me) went down. Any chance you'll do a more detailed guide video on how to do prot pally stuff for raids?
@@hypt0ny Greater BOK is a "holy" spell, which can hit many people at once. For every player it buffs, it generates some threat (boosted by righteous fury). If you use it on a lot of players, it generates a lot of threat... and can be cast every couple of seconds, so it can burst up a ton of threat quite quickly.
I've been out of WoW for years, and Vanilla is still, to me, the best days of the game. Watching this makes me just want to play again so bad. I miss my Rank 13 Warrior days
Our MT was a pala tank during the MC phase, no BWL or ZG were available on that phase, dude made the drill with no TF and an híbrid build,his name was korgana, dude was just built different
the fact that it just really needs a group of friendly people is a good thing for me true paladin spirit while having a warrior tank is almost always a lot of swearing, tons of deserters and tons of salt
Just wait til TBC comes, Alliance paladin tank with Seal of Vengeance + Thunderfury will be the BOOOMB! Paladins best tanks in HC for sure, when u wanna pull more then 3 packs and fast clear everything for just badges, Protadin is the way to go!

Hello Esfand, There is discussions around "black grasp of the destroyer" (classicdb.ch/?item=22194). It's gloves which loot from AQ20 (moam). Some people are saying that they datamined them and the capacity : gain 8 mana/steal 8 mana can be activate by white hits + seal of the righteousness, it would hit simultaneously AND, the 2 mana abilities are considered into Physical category (according to this page : classicdb.ch/?spell=27522), which can lead to another source to trigger thunderfury procs and other "chance on hits" items like frost oil (classicdb.ch/?item=3829), Heart of Wyrmthalak (classicdb.ch/?item=22321), fiery blaze enchantment (classicdb.ch/?item=5421) etc... It would be 3 different sources to trigger "chance on hit" items. Which ... could change the Metagame a lot for class like paladin, hunters, enhancement shamans... Hope to see you or another paladin test them quickly ^^
A tip, keep all melee in range of raggy. he only knocks back one melee not all melee. So the chance of you getting knocked back is minimal then. (got a video showing us doing this for proof inc soon)
What's "Fire strike" in the combat log? Some sort of equipment that adds a damage proc to melee attacks? Also, sick editing gorthax. Easily the best classic wow video editor
While it was a fun watch, he didn't do anything impossible, he just used thunderfury, and the weapon literally carried him. Anyone could do this really if their guild would be insane enough to give thunderfury to a paladin rather than their warriors.
TBH, single target threat from paladins is amazing, if you stack one class (like ppl do,. these days). Just speaking for my guild and just for Rag but a hypothetical paladin in our raid could pull 1350 tps with out 15 warriors to buff. That's solid. I mean sure, they have a lot of issues and are the third worst tank but single target threat isn't one of their problems. I mean, there was a 40 shaman MC raid with a shaman tanking (obviously) and that kind of worked.

Mostly blue and green parsers - pretty standard for a casual guild classic.warcraftlogs.com/reports/wGzRhvXMDcLp3dJF#boss=-2&difficulty=0&view=rankings&playermetriccompare=statistics. Esfand also was also not using GBoK spam which is the best way for prot paladins to generate threat since it generates 150xN (where N is number of people of class in raid) per global cooldown. So with Esfand having 10 warriors in his raid, using GBoK spam he would generate 1500 threat per global cooldown. Prot is the weakest tanking spec, and it can't be done on tank swap bosses. But it's still done in casual guilds who are clearing all content and happy to take meme specs to make sure everyone is having a good time. It is a game after all, we all play to have fun.
Esfand you are one of the 2 pallys i respect besides me as you really know the class. So i have a request plz make a bug submission on classic. Proc items like lifestealing enchant, frost oil, shadow oil, elementals dec and etc (spell based damage) dont get sp bonus, when melee procs like decapitation and fatal wounds get armor pene bonus and armor debuf. Blizz needs to fix it and hybrids will become realy good.
In vanilla I tanked patchwerk as prot paladin treat gen is crazy when you àdd exorcism into the mix. It also allowed our. Normal tank to go dps and just rip. Prot paladin wasn't bad in classic, just warriors were so insane everyone else just was terribad, and the fact Mana made chain pulls almost impossible

O K so I am wrong? A good prot Paladin takes less dmg and generates more threat than a fury/warrior even without tf. I watch every Tuesday BWL or we fully clear brd 2man it or 3m in less than 30mins. The raid tries to down play the Paladin tank which did 1k dps aoe, took less dmg than bear/fury warrior tanks with more on him. Then the raid ask him to heal on fights cool he parse 95 on heals in prot spec on 2nd last boss, then have him wield the two hander for certain boss. Guess what raid leader rolls a what? F Paladin. It mind numbing knowing mtf are retard. Ony or any boss that is taunt immune is perfect for a prot Paladin as long you don’t have multiple adds. Just popular belief is that fury/prot is better or warriors in general. 2 years from now some will have blah post as they just found out. Wtf. This how u test every build of warrior and Paladin. Do homework on each spec build. Go for weapons that stack with sp dmg or have sp dmg. Test in stocks on gear to watch if dmg of ability goes up. Look at dmg take, tps generation (most addons still cannot track all Paladins threat). Test/test u don’t need to share because I don’t. My prot pally friend even wrecks in PvP. O K logs for Paladin are in the gutter. Great blessing threat and few others is not read right. Classic logs is not as accurate as BFA/current WoW. Even threat meters are behind on Paladins because the boss is hitting the Paladin all threat meter show he has no threat. Yes TF is very OP. My point is warriors are not the best. Depends on fight and situation. If target is immune to taunt and has no additional mini bosses attached to it. Paladin would be best. If the boss is immune to taunt with mini bosses attach or a lot off adds. Druids/shaman has best threat. If boss is not taunt immune it would be Druid then warrior for best threat. My opinion best make up for tanks. 2x warriors (1x fury/full prot) 2x druids 1x Paladin/shaman Each fight one excels more than the others. Always want Paladin for aoe trash. When not tank dps or heal.
Looks like he is using WeakAuras 2. It's an extremely flexible addon which allows you to show icons, progress bars etc. for anything you want. It has a bit of a learning curve but is a fantastic tool that really allows you to customize your UI the way you like it. If something is too complex for you to create yourself (might require you to write a custom script) then you can often find what you need on sites like wago.io

You should try again with well geared dps and world buffs. See how well you can hold threat when people are pushing for time

I'm regularly raid tanking as Prot in MC/BWL. One question - does Thunderfury's nature damage proc scale with spellpower in Classic?
