Ronning was underrated and I felt always played in the shadow of someone else. My first favourite player was Vincent Damphousse. I was 8 years old, grew up with my dad being a Leafs fan, then he scored 4 goals at the All Star game in Chicago and named MVP.
Then the early 90s came along, and it was all about Gilmour. No explanation needed. Then, being a kid when the Leafs started to falter in the mid-late 90s, I latched onto the Whalers. In the days of illegal cable boxes, we would get WGN in Boston, so Bruins/Whalers games were on 8 times a year. In one game, Geoff Sanderson scored a hat trick in a 7-4 victory, with one of his goals reminiscent of his Stanley Cup Final goal against Belfour and the Stars. Then Shanahan joins the Whalers and I truly thought they had a playoff team at the time. Then Shanahan wants out, he's off to Detroit for Primeau and Sanderson gets traded from Carolina after a miserable transition from Hartford. I latch onto Primeau for a few years, he's off to Philly for Brind'amour, and he's my last true favourite player.
Damphousse, Gilmour, Sanderson, Shanahan, Primeau and Brind'amour.

Ronning is one of the most underrated players in history. Always was a huge fan.
I'd totally get a bunch of 80s goalies, like Billy Smith, Chico Resch, Andy Moog, Ed Belfour, Grant Fuhr, Tom Barasso, Pete Peeters, Mike Vernon, and Patrick Roy.*
*Except Ron Hextall, because I know him from his 1990s meltdowns.

My son had a chance to hit the ice with Ronning a couple of years ago during the intermission of an Alumni Game. Ronning sprung him on a breakaway... probably the highlight of his short hockey life.
My last player jersey I bought was a Rangers Neal Pionk - I just like that name. It's fun to say. And $50 US after shipping is a steal.
My favorite is my Datsyuk 2014 Winter Classic, found on facebook, from a girl who bought it for her boyfriend and "it was the wrong one".

I mostly have LA Kings jerseys in my collection most of them Alec Martinez (Reebok Black and White), Adidas Silver, 2015 Stadium Series. I have a Drew Doughty Reebok St. Patrick's Day, Anze Kopitar 50th Anniversary Jersey, and Quinton Byfield Reverse Retro (hope he actually gets to wear that one). Also have the CCM Chevron logo Steve Duchesne jersey that my Mom lets me borrow sometimes, she wore it when she was pregnant with my twin and I and met him at Tip-A-King in 1990. For non-Kings I have Toronto Dion Phaneuf with the C on it and Montreal PK Subban cheaper when they got traded.
Ryan Miller is my all time favorite player, he and I are both Michigan State alumni

I built 75% of my jersey collection off Full Moon Jerseys' cheap jerseys. There are a few I regret not picking up while they were available but it was always the thought that I can always wait until it goes on auction and.... yeah...

Anyhow, I only have a few jerseys and they're all blanks, but if I were get one with a player's name or number, it'd *have* to be a Todd Gill Leafs jersey.
I started watching hockey, in PoCo, in 91. As such, my two jerseys are a black penguins Lemieux and a black skate no.10 Bure. I’m still mad at New York for 94. I think I want to pick up a Ryan Walter as well, as he’s the only pro player I’ve met (and played hockey with) when I was a child and living near his brother.
I don’t normally try to request videos (because I really like the more non news or game related videos you make already), but I think I video about players jerseys from their former teams in your collection that are “ok” to wear would be really cool (excluding long time retirees or obvious team legends like Gretzky with the oilers or Luongo with Florida or the Cannucks as two possible examples)
One of my favorite jerseys I own is the Ducks Reverse Retro and I have Grant on the back of it. Love Derek Grant and it was even better because he scored a penalty shot wearing the Reverse Retro and making me look like a genius

The way players come and go these days, it’s hard to pick a certain player unless they sign a long term deal. As a Devils fan, the “safe” ones are Hughes, Hischier, and Hamilton. I almost got a Coleman jersey after he signed his 3 year deal but he got traded. My last name plate was Palmieri so I’m a little skeptical of getting a name for now. Still wear my Claude Lemieux and Langenbrunner throwbacks to games lol

My parent bought me boxes of 500 hockey cards each, back in the mid 90s. The listed cards were mostly gone, but there were lots of Cliff Ronning card in there.
In 2000 I bought my one and only Colorado Avalanche authentic: 'Drury 37'. Though I have great respect for the Avs stars players such as Sakic and Forsberg, those jerseys were omnipresent in 2000. Chris Drury changed to #18 the next year. So, I rarely see any other 'Drury 37' at Avs games.

Cliff Ronning was my fav player... On EA NHL 94, him and Bure, noone could beat me. LOL... I sometimes wonder if JT wishes he could still wear that jersey. I know the story but never knew the team Malarchuk played for.

Rautakallio, that's a great name a sure a lot of value. Love the Roy jersey, I'm sure that would cost 10 times that in Sweden if it for some reason was sold in a store here. An Edm Gretzky, Avs Forsberg, Bos Orr, Det Lidstrom would be some of the first jerseys I would get if I ever were to start collecting.
I remember an SCTV skit where John Candy played 'Billy Stemhovilichsky.' Yes, I had to google Stemhovilichski for the spelling.

I got a Biron Goathead jersey a year before he was traded, and also got a Vanek Buffaslug jersey and he was traded a few years later. I only get blank jerseys now lol.
That Tavares Isles jersey has to be the worst design they've ever used. I called it the Frankenjersey because it looked like it was stitched together with parts of other dead jerseys.

I wanted to get a Guentzel or Dumoulin RR, but Pens Gear was out of them in my size at the time while on sale. But I'm happy with the Jarry one as well. As for Vegas, maybe Lehner? I like him as a goalie despite all the undeserved scrutiny he gets and all he does with recognizing mental health

I have a home Mark Recchi CCM Flyers, a home Steve Mason Reebok Flyers jersey, and a blank CCM Anaheim Mighty Ducks eggplant jersey. The Recchi one I found at a thrift store for $8 US, the Mason one I got because at the time he was my favorite player (us lefties gotta stick together), and I got the Anaheim one because it’s one of my grails.
I really want a black Nike or CCM Flyers jersey of either LeClair, Gagné, or Čechmánek. I also want a Shane Doan Peyote Coyotes jersey.

While I'll never amass a collection like Shannon's I have begun to add original six teams to my small collection. Recently, I picked up a Toronto CCM Gartner and Detroit Probert. I do have an extensive Vanbiesbrouck collection With Rangers, Panthers, Flyers, and Isles but I refuse to get a Devils jersey... 9 games doesn't count in my book and being a Flyers fan... well... F that. Speaking of Flyers... Lindros, LeClair, Gange, Giroux, and Timonen. Also had to get a Timonen Blackhawks with a cup champ patch because reasons. A black Nike Blackhawks which is such an odd cut as well as a team Russia Nike to round it out.

I finally saved up to get my first hand stitched jersey. I got a Ryan O'Reilly Blues home jersey. After a few days of admiring the front, I realized they spelled it O'Rielly. I had to send it back to get fixed

I like to own favorite players from the past, on my jerseys, even if the team they were on never had success. Plus traded players are cheap, and it's nice to have numbers.
