Laura, I want to share a tip I learned long ago when taking a shot. Take a deep breath in, hold it, take a drink, swallow, and exhale. It helps to cut down the intensity of the alcohol. I think it’s because you aren’t also breathing it in. It comes in handy for tequila shots and also NyQuil when sick!
