The Two Best Backpacks in Abiotic Factor (OUTDATED)

The two best backpacks you can acquire in Abiotic Factor is the Research Pack, and the Rat Pack. They're the best in terms of the amount of inventory slots they provide you.

The Radio Pack is the competitive option.
With the Radio Pack you have 21 Inventory slots compared to the Research Pack with 30.
This should make the Radio Pack objectively worst, however the passive on the Radio Pack is much better.
The Radio Pack passive gives you -50% Item charge drain rate & -50% Item charge drain amount.
This should equate to a 75% increase in up time on certain items.
(I havent tested that the numbers written are accurate with what shows in game but when using the Radio pack there is a noticable improvement)
Durability tends to become a non-issue compared to early game and charge takes over as what limits you to keep exploring so this power up is great.

Mhm, when I made the video, I was also considering adding the radio backpack but its passive of increasing battery time didn't really seem useful to me at least. When I refer to the word 'best', I meant any backpack with the largest inventory slots and/or weight reduction. Still, I think all three are really good, but with the new update coming up, there's probably gonna be better backpacks.

@@SentryMash While I appreciate the Research Pack is designed to be the 'best' it grossly misunderstands what is important to players who are good at the game. If a player is good enough to manage radiation and inventory space the pros of the Research Pack become negligible.
This is in the same vain as shields and bodysuits being a flat negative to a good player because is moves you (while wearing a full set of Carapace) from light-weight to medium-weight in armour class which slows you down. A player who is good enough not to get hit is always going to value damage > speed > armour.
The Radio Pack is the only pack to effectively increase damage by increasing your powered weapons uptime.

what is the benefit of the rat set bonus exept for the achievement and superior style?

nothing else sadly
has the same bonuses as the normal hazard suit iirc

@@SentryMash just got 2 pieces of them it seems that some yellow particles appear around you when you have the backpack and the suit like the original has (can it be that the rat scanner is not a set item?) but if the particles have the same radio active thing i cannot say as a solo player

You get the Rat Pack a whole area earlier than the Research Pack (if you know how to get it)
