That's part of the beauty of 2b2t. Some of the greatest builds get made there, torn down, only for new ones to crop up. A microcosm of war and civilization and the cycle of death and rebirth.
I could see blowing up certain bases... but I just couldn't do something like that to such a magnificent base. If it's any consultation to Jack, his work has been seen by so many people the hours of people appreciating his work outweighs the time he spent actually working on it. And with videos like this, it all lives on forever.
Well you don’t exactly build in 2b2t for the project to last. For example: If you want to create the Mona Lisa and keep it forever? Single-player. If you want create the Mona Lisa in 2b2t? Expect the Joker to barge in and paint a smile on it in some random color just because he wants to.

this video tells the one side of the story 8:35 first, he promised to not leak first, when they first found the valkyria some of the builders insulted adals friends heavily(idk which ones), adal mentioned alphacomputer was saying something like "you are not worthy of holding my sword, i made that sword" while adal was holding a pickaxe xd than adal's friends said lets sell the coords, adal said i dont need the money but their friends wanted to sell someone offered 400$ but adal's friends said to adal they were actually not intending to sell they wanted to learn how much they actually would make if they would, (idk about that but thats what they said, well they could've sold it if they wanted i guess) adal didn't leaked the coords but jake the rippa said someone knowing the coords is the problem

That's the goal. We built in creative to plan a base, in survival single-player to know what technique is need to build that efficiently, and we enter a server as a challenge: can I gather the resources and built this before some sad kid come and destroy everything?
the bases like space valkryia go down in 2b2t history. It's a massive accomplishment, to gather the millions of resources, and build it all in secret. if you did something like that in an ordinary world or server, it wouldn't really matter too much. And of course, it's simply for fun.

I've watched a few of Sal's videos and I can tell you that the nostalgia is STRONG with this RUclipsr. When you start creating history lessons for a video game and in this case ONE server esp with the feel and ambiance of this poster; it is definitely betraying some pretty strong 'feels'. Unfortunately playing a single game and having it more or less dominate your life for as long as seems to be the case here CAN skew your vision and perspective. The narration and almost worshipful admiration of structures, events, persons and the extensive use of apparently revered pictures of the past as if these were unearthed in an ancient Egyptian tomb, to be treasured as unique and rare artifacts worthy of preservation is quite fascinating from a video game. It seems to be marking meaningful events as if these were in the person's actual life! The poster takes great pride in displaying these treasured memories and takes even more pride from it being on apparently the most difficult server in the world. Those feels about difficulty make sense however the sense of history, passage time and almost melancholy feel as if the past can't be recaptured is odd though; again because its pixels... Perhaps its due to the sense of community engendered in online games and the highly transient nature of this server in particular? Full disclosure: I've never played this server and only casually played Minecraft for leisure. For me playing a video game is not a lifestyle choice. I have played a game in the past that I got emotionally involved with but after it's demise I realized I had gotten too involved and tried to spend a bit more time in the real world. Why I am posting here then? It's an interesting study in psychology.
