So your scraper doesn’t do that “hopping” thing when scraping, cut some tyres and bolt with large washers to the bottom of the scraper. It’ll basically turn into a large squeegee. Visual reference: 10th generation dairyman

great video. Camera work is lovely with the drone shots and really like your choice of music. Heads up, watch out for those walls they can jump out at you for no reason at all.
You should get a set of PMR 446 or even business radios for use on the farm, saves you shouting to your dad in the tractor who might not be able to hear you properly. A decent set would give you a reasonable distance and keep you all in touch.
You make basic and boring farm work look exciting!!😁 You guys should lay some large "road rock" down to minimize the mud - or concrete in certain places?
@@DairyFarmer-uc8eq yeah I know, but time is a currency that farmers are all low on. And it would save a lot of that. And probably like yourself, the guy works pretty damn hard
Makes no sense why 800 fools would give a thumbs down..You and your father work hard ..So many dont have a clue what a rewarding real day of work is all about..I love everything about the farming life I dont have a farm but am darn happy when I'm able to work on one even shoveling manure it's all good..
@@Eddiee757 So what if it's a farm, they can be clean too, it doesn’t have to be surgically clean. Would you rather work on this farm or a clean one? Look of his farm is a look of him. Whole farm needs some tlc, first wash, add some more drains, clean junk, repaint everything, and add some gravel pathways so when less mud is on concrete. And then is just a matter of keeping it clean and not getting to this stage. He and his cows will be happier I guarantee it, there would be lees standing water, shit and mud so less smell and healthier environment. Look at inside of his tractor, he spends minimum of 1 hour/day in it, I wouldn’t drive that tractor for 10 minutes before I clean it. Because that will be my working place, my office from 1st October to probably half of November or even longer.
What some do is before they pull the pipe they back in the empty tank and turn the selector to pump out air amd it cleans the pipe. On another note is that a model of the Sanfrancisco gate bridge over your head at the beginning of the video.
Good idea. Where a work were buffer feeding in the morning. Then kick them out to grass. That's how we're scraping the passage. Put a tanker of water down it and scrap. Stops it be like a ice rink.
Love the people In the comments say power wash!! People just say are you coming to clean it!! That’s a massive shed to power wash it would take all day, yes it would be clean but how clean do you need it!. Thanks Tom for the great video again!!!!
New subscriber here! Love the videos, reminds me of when I was small and we did have a farm- sheep only though, I'm in Western Australia, can I ask what's under the tyres? Just curious.
That’s a handy building multi purpose , silo , calf shed , and the mule shed lol 885 was in the back of it in one video I think, Tom do you know about how many tons of silo fit in there
Tom, two questions. Is that floor you washed made on a slight angle to help it drain, ...and afterwards, do you need to do any sort of light rinse or spray with a bleach like substance to kill any germs? ( can you tell I’m a farmer wannabe?) ❤️❤️❤️
Bit of a yikes moment putting that dirty slurry pipe into a waterway but I suppose that one time won't have a major impact. Highly recommend a pressure washer though, you can get fairly cheap ones and it'd probably do an even better job.
Do you not have mains water where you could jet wash it out or is it to save money by using the stream water? I have a great respect for all farmers working all hours in the mud and probably smell fills me with dread!!
I just hook a homemade connection onto the tanker and put a long pressure waterpipe and lance, cleans up in no time and with 800 gallons behind it its got plenty of pressure. An 1000L ibc tank full of water also does as a substitute

Man I want to pressure wash that whole place just for the satisfaction lmao

No nothing about farming but for some reason enjoy your videos
Always love the camera work, Tom!
Buy a pressure washer it’ll be the best thing ever
Odhran Byrne what for cleaning the floor of the shed
Greg Shearer yeah it makes such a difference if he’s putting grass in it for silage
Odhran Byrne a suppose it would but would take a fair amount of time
Greg Shearer yeah it might take a days work with that size shed but it does a lot for how clean the silage would be
I've had the job of washing the pit out with the pressure washer before
Depends on how bad it Is but you fair knock on
Terrific video, good crisp edits, drone use is an added plus, music is original and fresh. Thanks, well done.
John Lowe, Photographist Thanks John
Tom your videos a brilliant mate. I’ve told u before. But they just get better and better. 👍👍
Love everything you do on your farm. Would love to come and get involved one day!! Keep it up chap. Hi Joanna !
Get it done with power washer mate, 10 times as clean with about 1/50th of the water buddy
The water is good for the slurry

How is power washing time saving?
@@sumpyman obviously don't know how a power washer works, if you message me I'll explain buddy 😉
Karl Medina agree use power washers at the pig farm I work at..faster and cleaner

That entire farm needs a good wash and some maintenance.
Err it’s a farm mate
DevFocxs, no offense, but it's a filthy one.
Just an Opinion it’s a farm...
DevFocxs and farms have to be filthy. Right.

Lots of dirty jobs on the farm! You always have a great attitude for your work!
Love the video's, love the editing, love the ginger warrior 😂😂
GREAT VID .Need to get a side blower on tanker with a pipe on it to hose down better than any power washer.👏whatch that wall 😁😁

A positive observation and not to be taken personally. The cameraman has to get the camera off of himself and on to the equipment and the event.
