Came across this by accident. I was there! On day 3, as a 10 yo who had never seen tennis played before. It was an instant love story. Loved Lew Hoad but Ken Rosewall was and remained my favourite. I was delighted to see him amongst the elite spectators at the recent Wimbledon final.
Lew Hoad was a right handed, about three inches taller, version of Rod Laver, who developed a bad back that shortened his career. A shame people don't know much about him.
This was Hoads best year as a player as he won the first 3 slams only to be thwarted by Kenny at Forest Hills to stop his grand slam quest. Rosewall also prevented Trabert from winning a grand slam as well.
Hello, thank you very much for the beautiful tennis documentaries, please do you have any more, or even matches, I have been looking for them for a long time, but there are very few of them on the Internet. Thank you very much for your time and above all I wish you good health. Best regards Dominik :)
This was great to see. Can we see more such as highlights of 53, 54, and 55 davis cups? I know there is 12 minutes of hoad - trabert match but I'd like to see more.
I posted the long Hoad Trabert highlights, I also posted Hoad vs Seixas highlights Davis 1953 ruclips.net/video/DHU_oJ6jjX8/видео.htmlsi=mvfLf7XBeTYIQ4X9. Not bad at all, Hoad (in his Davis cup final debut) Defeating then wimbledon champ & if you can find it, I'd reccomend watching the last match that year Rosewall def. Seixas.

Amazing to see grandpa Lew and grandma Jenny 😍 we lost her last month ❤ I love you two ❤
Regardless of it being 1956, the players were striking the ball with great power, skill and accuracy.
Thanks for this.
This is a great movie, the best one showing young Lew Hoad and Ken Rosewall, a true tennis gem. Impressive quality and edition.
Thank you so much
