I respectfully disagree. Rosewall and Laver while still great were past their absolute prime. Rosewalls prime was about 61thru 67 an Lavers 64 thru 69.
No, his prime came earlier. Late 50s to mid 60s. These guys didn't get as much exposure prior to the Open Era, but they, along with Pancho Gonzales, were the best in the world for years before that.
Not bro , rosewall was better than laver , rosewall was stopped for the famous question professional player and not .....for 11 years , if rosewall was free to player the atp tournaments , probabilly now he have 20-25 slams !!!
@@AmurTiger-vm5dy Well Laver won a Calander amateur slam in 62, then went Pro and won a Calander slam there, including dominating Rosewall from 1964-1972, then Open era winning another calendar in 69. Ken Rosewell missed 10 years of Slam because he was a Professional he could of won say 18-25 Slams instead of 7 still the oldest Slam Winner Ever Male 37 years old

Agreed. Women can use the extra power of the 2 handed forehand, but these modern guys are huge. The beauty and versatility of the 1 backhand is sadly missing from the game.
Early 70's were the best IMO for tennis. Great characters, subtle nuanced playing, variety of shots, footwork and sportsmanship.

Wow beautiful footage
Thanks so much
What a beautiful era
Pretty bad camera work, actually.
Loved the 60-70's background music. Feel almost like a tv series.
Felt almost like a porn movie.
Ken Rosewall was top-20 player at almost 44 and top-10 at 42,really amazing.
great classic footage thanks for the contribution
Rosewall was the Mighty Mouse of tennis and had arguably the best slice backhand in history and the one I grew up studying and emulating.
Such amount of skill and athleticism, variety and nuanced shots, it's dizzying !!
but that music though... lol
@@shafikmahomad6629 Better than the crap Rap we hear now...
Wonderful music - like a James Bond film!
Perhaps one of the top highlights of Rosewall’s career?

Loved wooden racket tennis.
Until McEnroe…Borg, this was the greatest match I have ever seen.
Except Rosewall was using a Seamco aluminum racquet here ❗
Even with the woof racquets these guys can produce power and lots of speed
Woof woof
Miaooowwww
"All he needs is a pair of big ones to polish Ken off". Oooooh Matron!!!!! 😂
One of the spectators looks like actor James Franciscus
those were the days my friend
laver the GOAT. federer says it. who knows how many majors he would have had if not having to vacate for 7 years between his two grand slams

Nobody would say that about SMU coeds these days anyway.
Looks like Lutz is using a head master??? I remmeber him aways using the head pro..I bet the head pro hadn't been develped yet?
Ce bon vieux Kenny rosewall 😊
Ce Bon vieux rod rocket laver 😊
Merci beaucoup. 😊
So when did they started carrying tennis bags?
Music by Lalo Schifrin?? So 70s
Rosewall's two weapons were his backhand and lob. But you need a big forehand for Wimbledon.
Ken also had a class volley, especially on the backhand side.....

.....footwork and volley!
I suspect the film has been sped up slightly during the points.
No. I was in attendance at matches in the 1970's and they had real pace even with wood rackets.
Ken was surgical. The point at 14:53 is exhibit A.
