Glad you're interested in the book :). You can install the Kindle app on your Android, then just buy the ebook from Amazon. You can also read Kindle ebooks on your PC or in your browser; check the links in the description of this video.
And, of course, let me know if you have any questions as you go through the book. Our Facebook page is a good place to go for questions and photo critiques. Enjoy, and thanks!

Hi, I' just wanted to say thank you for your tutorials. I'm a complete amateur, but I need to improve my photo taking skills (take photos of drawings and handmade jewelry) and your tutorials were an amazing help! They are very visual, understandable and enjoyable as well. Thank you for amazing work!

@@TonyAndChelsea I hear MuseCam - Photo Editor for iPhone has film recipes options that you can insert with text and when you press the shutter button on your iPhone, you will have all the best Fujifilm and Kodak film Simulations coming out of your iPhone, works the same way that the Fujifilm X Series Cameras do.

Chapter 10 covers night photography, and there is a section on photographing people at night. The light painting section should give you the background you need to cover them at different distances. Enjoy!

Run the iBooks app and browse the store from there. iBooks is like the app store for books. Search for "Tony Northrup" or "Stunning Digital Photography".

Heya, Sandy. Get a YongNuo 568-EX flash, trade your 70-300 for a Tamron 70-200 f/2.8, get a tripod with a ball head, then get the YongNuo wireless flash control system and a YongNuo 565, and finally, some light modifiers: softboxes for the flashes, diffusers, and reflectors.
Check my book out (link in the description) for a complete description of everything and why, especially Chapter 6. The private reader's group has buyer's guides that give more detail, too. Good luck!!

I think you'll like it on the iPad. Just open iBooks (you might need to install it, it's an Apple app), search for Tony Northrup, and choose the version of Stunning Digital Photography that has "iPad" in the upper-right corner of the cover.
Or, you can just use the links in the description of this video. There's a paperback version, too, of course.

Hi, Stefanie. For full-body work, you can probably just use your kit lens. I have detailed lens and body recommendations for more traditional portrait work, for all budgets, in my Photography Buying Guide (available at Amazon or using the third link in the description).

Hi Tony, i'm based here in Ireland and I've been covering your RUclips channel now for a few months. I picked up the Nikon D5500 in the USA last year during time at work there and I really enjoyed your video on how to master the camera and all it's functions. Thanks for the great videos you post. They're very helpful. Sean.

I just purchased your Ebook. I watched this introduction through the Ebook link and i already learned alot from this 3 minute video. I am starting out in photography and want to take macro product shots for the web. I had no idea and never thought that i could angle my flash upward in order to soften the flash when it hits my subject. Thank you very much.

  • @TonyAndChelsea
    @TonyAndChelsea  11 лет назад

The 600EX RT is a great flash, but it's also very expensive. You might also consider the YongNuo YN-568EX II.
If you have the book, check out the Flash Buyer's Guide in the reader's group for a roundup of flashes and wireless trigger systems.

  • @TonyAndChelsea

It's a much better portrait lens, not because of the focal length but because of the aperture. Check Chapters 4 and 6 in Stunning Digital Photography (link in the description) for complete details.

  • @TonyAndChelsea
    @TonyAndChelsea  12 лет назад

Ugh, sorry. We're working on fixing that. Do you have an iPad, iPhone or iPod? If so, you can get it in the iBooks store.

Congrats, Paul! Check out my book Stunning Digital Photography (link in the description) because I discuss the hardware you need for different types of photography, such as portraits, wildlife, landscapes, and night photography.
Re: sharpest lenses, and Canon vs. Sigma (vs. Tamron), the Canon L lenses are generally the sharpest. The two sharpest lenses are the Canon 24-70 f/2.8L (mk2) and the Canon 70-200 f/2.8 L (mk2). They're also pretty expensive, so weigh the importance of that sharpness.

About showcasing just one photo out of many of the same thing:
Totally agree! I think multiple photos of the same thing reduces the impact value of the photograph.
I sometimes force myself to pick just one (the best one) no matter how good the other might be.

I just watched several of your videos on You Tube. Thank you so much, they were great and so informative. I just ordered the book How to Create Stunning Photography. I have a Nikon D 40 and was wanting another/better DSLR, especially after taking a few lessons from someone at a camera shop in Dallas. He kinda showed me the mirrorless and well my husband bought me one for Christmas and I was like "Ok, what do I do with it now" . The manual is severely lacking, especially since I didn't have a clue about the camera. The camera is a Sony 6000 Mirror less. Again, thank you so much!!! At least I can get started.

Hey Tony. @49ersClub here (you will find me on Twitter and Instagram by that username).
I have now bought my copy of 2 books:
    (1) How to Create Stunning Digital Digital Photography (SDP). I don't intend to sound creepy, but thanks for sharing your gorgeous co-photographer and the love of your life (Chelsea N) with us. She is a stunning model, fun of ideas and creativity.
    (2) Photography Buying Guide.
Just to make sure that I clarify: I am not affiliated, related with or to, associated with, connected to, nor have I been paid or incentivised to provide this positive feedback.
I have reviewed countless hours of the T&C videos, and i decided having these books in my library is beneficial, as I can read anywhere, without having to depend on internet connectivity.
I have been an Canon APS-C DSLR user for years, and I am now upgrading to Full Frame.
Interestingly, I still have my Canon 55 SLR (roll film for those who have only ever used DSLR).
Tony's tutorials are extremely beneficial.\What can I say about Chelsea! Loads, and I quite like her (in a professional way lol)!
I hope you guys pay Madelyn for her work lol.

Hello, your book on stunning photography is so nice to read! its like something that when you read your are like talking to the author face to face. the quick links to videos and reference is so useful. the terms used are so simple and easy to understand. the explanation is so clear that once you read it, you can't forget.. haha! The author really know what he is talking about. Looking forward to finish the book and improve my photography better. The most important thing I noticed buying the book is the information and flow of teaching is continuous unlike when you just rely on tips and techniques, they only give you shortcut that you may not fully understand. Good job sir! and thank you for sharing your knowledge,, :-)

First, I've ordered the book from Amazon. Its on its way. I'm semi retired and interested in getting better with photography. I used to do a lot of landscapes and evening skyline exposure shots on my old Minolta SLR long before digital. I got lucky a couple times but it was sheer luck. I'm a 40 year IT guy so I have the full Adobe suite and have been using photoshop since 1997 (Version 4). I need help with composition. I need help in other areas too but learning the technical is worthless if my composition is garbage. I just bought a Sony a7III. I have my old Monfroto tripod with the 141RC head which today is worth a small fortune so I'm glad to have that. As an aside, I also have a 4" Schmidt Maksitov telescope & SLR adapter (Minolta I've not tested yet) so I think I'm off to a fair start.

I Just received How to create Stunning Photography; Looks great feels great and the first chapter Quick Tips is great and led me here. In the first 5 mins I've learnt a few things already. I like that on the dedication page you have "made a picture" and not just taken a picture and has me expectant of your book being a great teaching tool. Again GREAT Start, the layout is easy to follow and the first example Figure 1-1 is clear and to the point. Thank You for such a great beginner/intermediate/Pro tool. Would it be possible to get the other videos from the digital download or would I have to purchase that also?
    Thank You again Mr. Northrup

Great work. Need some guidance on using Flash. I have 6D and i hate to use flash but sometimes, one tend to get stuck due to limited light. I am considering to go for 600EX RT. My idea was to use it away from the camera and more like wireless using trigger... what would you recommend for indoor, casual photography. I am still learning and more i learn, the more i realise, that i know nothing and one life is not enough to capture the best, what your eye can but your camera cannot capture.. Thanks
