Hey so yeah, I'm being pretty vulnerable using my first takes for singing so please don't comment on how bad it is, I know haha. If you can gain confidence thinking you could do way better than me, then that's the optimal outcome honestly!
Psh~! I'll show you how bad my singing is, vut you have confidence to upload it whereas other don't. xD So, good stuff. To me it's soothing, but always a good to start somewhere. I may start karaoke, but I'll try to work on my voice.
Your voice isn't bad and as you said, it's untrained. I've had 6.5 years of vocal training (mentioning it just so you know where I'm coming from.) One of the things is that you are very likely an alto, which would explain why the first two songs you did were difficult as they are for Sopranos or higher Mezzo-sopranos. The second thing is it would benefit your singing to learn breath control and to sing from your diaphragm. It will give you the air to sing more fully and with more strength. Weak breath make for weak notes. If you are interested in working on your voice, those are just a few pointers to help. 😊
@@RobinReadwood Oh yeah, I'm aware of at least the basics since I was forced to take choir in high school way back when, haha. I just never committed to it and I feel like no one makes videos about singing from the perspective of an untrained non-singer, so I thought I'd give it a try without getting all technical and really training. A fact of reality is that people likely to audition won't be spending months to hone in their singing skills if they're starting from 0 and don't think they have a chance, so it's from the mindset of doing what you can hehe. Thanks tho!
Thanks for the video! I personally don't actually plan on trying to audition for a vtuber agency anytime soon, but I definitely think that this was great advice for those of us not so musically talented >o
I desperately need to get my singing voice back. I'm not as good as I used to be, thanks to falling out of practice and illness. But I aim to practice more again, because I miss singing well. By the way, I could definitely hear the difference between your first take and final take; there was clear improvement there, so practice definitely matters!
I love to sing, but as a non vtuber… I don’t plan to audition for a company in the far future if I do become a vtuber. But… this was very interesting to watch! Some of the livers are very good at singing and maybe that gave them a better chance.
I'm not the best singer, but at least I can sing in tune and also have a nice vocal range. I'm not planning on making music a major part of my career, but the occasional cover or karaoke stream would be nice. I still need to work on my singing technique, but I started my audition video with a recording of me doing the Dream On challenge. I don't think I'll get in this time because I don't have enough experience (I've been streaming for a little less than a month, on another account) and I made some mistakes on the self PR section, but I'll work hard on getting better both at streaming, video editing and singing
u sound so cute tho omg I'm not really planing to audition but if I change my mind, I will keep this in my mind ( I don't like singing to people and I am 0 confident in it too but you actually made me think about it xD)
@Lycoris Banashi I'm requesting "Only my railgun", no streamer has accepted my request on live karaoke streams. The only one I've heard it from is Chloe, she did fantastic!!
I used to think I sucked at singing until one day whiling driving with my mom I sang a song (Golden Hour if you must know) and my mom looked at me like "O.O TF" now, that doesn't mean I gained confidence in singing but I found it funny just how surprised she was and telling me it was good despite me trying to tell her she has hearing problems XD....Also....Late comment is late but I just found you so...
Joining agencies requires a lot of research and personal thought, so I'd recommend you take the time to investigate your best options yourself! But, you can easily find all open agency and indie group auditions by going to Twitter and looking through @VAuditions, they retweet as many agencies as they can find. Again, do your research before sending an application!
Why zero chance? Do you think your voice is too low? I am literally sitting here stunned at your comment. I've had 6.5 years of vocal training by some superb choir teachers, and I've never once heard a comment like this. It baffles me even more considering Geoff Castellucci's range, especially his cover of Far Over The Misty Mountains Cold. I keep shaking my head completely baffled as to why you think your voice has no chance, especially when you know your range. If you need someone to chat with about your concerns, feel free to send me a reply. 😊
@@RobinReadwood anxiety and over selfcriticalness mi amigo My voice has a stupid range as a guy from A2 to D6(in full head voice) yet i absolutely dont think ik be able to sing remotely well lop
its a nice video for people that want to sing in their audition but its ridiculous to even mention that practicing is cheating, because thats the basis of singing, you have to practice before a take over and over again to perfect it. you never make a cover and upload your first take, but i guess you mentioned it because other people could think so??? idk, its just how it needs to be to make something actually good, and worth the time and energy
Unfotunately it's very common for people to give up as soon as the first try isn't good enough, that making a singular instance better than their average is lying about their actual skills. Low self-confidence is a b*tch for a lot of people ;;;

You're on there, with enough training, you'll come great

Hey, Lycoris, got any recommendations of what companies to be on the lookout for when they start auditioning?

I wonder how many rick rolls they get in the audition videos?
Meh, my voice is a baritone, so there is probably zero chance for me.
Look up baritone songs! It could be jazz or acapella, there's worth in every voice!
rock/metal vtubers are w a y too rare
