Need to strip wire back so it goes to the end of the feral and the set screw will do the crimping once you tighten it down. Ferals ate mostly tin covered thin copper so it's soft once set screw is tight. Just a little advice I was given to pass along. Takes it off leave it not trying to step on toes of day anything is wrong. Looks great 👍
Back in the... yeah, um, 90's, I'd always split my wire in a Y and "tin" them very lightly to keep stray strands. Getting back into car audio, I'll definitely be using those. I've seen them in many, many friends installations and it is super clean and a lot safer!👍👍
I always use the cutters that your using to strip my wire as well as cut it. It’s gotta be a sharp pair tho lol I have a pair of southwire from Lowe’s. But same concept as yours. You just squeeze a little and twist it around and it works pretty well for me

I use ferrules on everything under 2/0 I found its more trouble than it's worth on cable that big but everything under it helps alot. Makes for a nice clean install and when you need to pull em out to change something they just go right back in were they were. Good to see an update on your whip man take care n just my opinion again but my 3ks have dual inputs n with the lithium you might benefit with dual inputs for you 8ks. 8 runs of ofc can dump an ungodly amount of amount of amperage
@@The_Crasher-xj4el yeah no shit dumbass but shrink wrap takes two seconds how about you worry about your own comments damn some of you keyboard warriors need a tooth or 2 knocked in
I have smaller wire cutters that I cut 4 gauge wire and smaller. I spin those around a turn or 2 and it takes the casing off the wire without taking strands. I’m surprised the ferrule doesn’t cover some of the wire casing…

If your using a good copper wire and then add a brass or aluminum wire reducer would that conduct properly like copper would, or would that defeat the purpose of using a pure copper wire?
I always solder the wires before I stick them in the pipe. Then I solder the pipe to the wires. Then connect with the Allen wrench. This way nothing is going anywhere‘s. I always solder all of my connections very well this is very very important.
@@garyclemmons1073 You clearly don’t read and know what you’re doing. Every wire every joint in the amplifier is soldered. There must be so much resistance. That’s some crazy stuff

You don’t have to waste your time and explain. I read I get it. Things aren’t 100% copper anymore not that they ever were. But that’s what they used to tell us. Sauter has changed a lot as well. I have said this many times ..you just refuse to install things properly..electrical tape is dumb to use for this application..but of course you already know that..🤦🏾♂️
Nice job on the wire you use heat shrink 3/4"

Good point you make on the aluminum ferrule vs the straight wire.
Heck yeah bro! I’ve been using ferrules for years. Now just nix the soon to be gooey mess of electrical tape! Shrink tube is your friend.

My new Recoil amplifier included these ferrules . I was happily surprised !!

spot on thanks Terrance I appreciate you!
great work. i did this to mine a while back and love it
Thanks it helps for ease of use too
You came a long way Jacob. I'm curious to see your setup now and how far you've come from the beginning to now.

Heat shrink bro no electrical tape lol electrical tape fails and melts under barely any heat and leaves a mess
He said this most likely isn’t the most professional way to do this literally less than a minute into the video 😭😭😂

They’re made by Xscorpion. I have a large yellow pair that is like your blue pair.
Same here
Zip tie at the top of the wire. helps when putting them on. And the wire should fill the whole ferrule
You should crimp them and use heat shrink
Thanks for the suggestion for others, great idea!
Can i connect these ferrules to a input reducer ?
I don’t see why not
Great job but you're also supposed to use solder with those so it gives you better connection
Bad idea
I pour pure melted copper into my inputs and mold a wire from scratch to my battery of unobtanium

It’s a 4 channel, just run a set per each +\- and should be fine

Lol that’s funny
i use my harbor freight cutters like yours and slightly squeeze to cut thru the the cover and turning the wire 2 or 3 time
Great idea!

Conducts fine don’t see issue?
I'm sure someone has already said this but don't crimp those because the round ferrel will get better contact in a round input.
Also I didn't realize this was from 2 yrs ago lmao. Oops
Heat shrink works better than tap
Wished my installer used ferrules, maybe my amp would still be working 😢
Love using ferrules
The screw that holds it in place on the amp +/- terminal does it ever gets loose? Could I use threadlock on those screws?
Never had any loosen issues with the force applied. I wouldn’t apply
Id prefer an pure copper connection, even beter to run dual inputs if you want to tidy it up.
What kind of power did you actually get out of those stetsom 8ks?
Haven’t clamped them yet but I would have to guess atleast 6k after rise and voltage drop
What are u using those amps for a home theater? And your in your back media room room or what? That or your out bumping in a shed lol
Checkout my channel and you’ll see ;)
You really should have made the wire inside the ferrule reach all the way to the end for a more stable connection point.
Cigar cutter, a nice one.

Soldering your power wire is a bad idea. You’re adding resistance and you’re making your cable more brittle

Nice I liked the lesson tip😀
Do you think filling it up with solder would be better then crimping
Yes and no, i use these daily jn my work. Not this big but we never use solder wit furrels just crimping. It is quad crimp crimped
No need for solder. The set screw in your amp inputs naturally crimp it down.
Soldering power wires is a bad idea. It wicks up the cable and makes it more brittle
U start using OFC Wire (Copper)
Yes I use OFC
