Jack's tacos are a cheap, greasy guilty pleasure, especially late at night. Their chicken club is divine. The Double Bacon Smash burger was so popular they sold out in a week. Then had to retool which took a month to get them back in the restaurant.
You also could have gotten breakfast...they serve it all day unlike most restaurants that serve from 6am-10:30 am typically.
The drink station at Jack In The Box and Wendy's is similar to movie theater soda dispensers. They have the entire catalog of Coke products to choose from which includes Multiple flavors of Fanta such as peach, cherry, strawberry, grape and orange plus the Barq Root beers. You wont find a better variety of choices to choose from at any other burger joint. 😅

They have changed a bunch in the 60 years they have been around. The store that is about 4 blocks from the house I grew up in, still exists, despite it be remodeled many times over the years. The secret sauce is not so much a secret, basically "Thousand Island dressing", but now called good, good sauce.

I mentioned deep sea fishing in an earlier comment and I have a quick funny story about deep sea fishing. When my older daughter turned eleven, the first year she could go, I took her ocean fishing out of New London, Connecticut. A few hours in I hooked something that was big and I could tell it was big. Of course, as I was struggling to pull it in, I was bragging about how this may be the biggest fish of the trip for anybody. As I was still reeling it in, my daughter hooked something. She immediately was having a hard time and asked for help. Knowing I couldn't just drop my pole, my friend rushed over to help her pull it in. Mine was a 48 inch (122 cm), 50 pound ( almost 23 kg) bluefish. The biggest so far. The deck hand reached over the side with a gaff and pulled my daughter's on board. Without even measuring, I knew. I gave her a hug and said Holy crap! That fish is bigger than you! A bluefish that was 54 inches (137 cm) and 62 pounds (almost 31 kg). Not really bigger than her but nobody beat her and she declared herself Queen of the Fishing Trip. Lol A title I'm happy to say she still holds to this day. And yes, you can bet my buddies gave me a hard time about being a braggart! We had the deck hands cut the fish into fillets and it was delicious! My daughter still reminds me of her victory to this day. Lol
Those are the kind of memories that you're building with your family and they will stick with you for the rest of your lives. And I couldn't wish it for a nicer bunch.

The thing that sets Jack in the Box apart is its selection. It's a great place to go when the family can't decide between burgers or tacos for dinner. Because it's a "jack" of all trades, it doesn't typically fall under people's favorite so you might not see it requested as much. Their curly fries are great but have you ever had a BAD curly fry in the US? I haven't. Side note: their commercials are the best in the business. As for in-n-out (this is just my personal opinion mind you), but generally speaking, if you grew up on the west coast, it is the top burger fast food joint. If you grew up anywhere else, it's mid as hell. Also their fries are like salted cardboard.

Big treat was getting a burger (very rare to get food at a "restaurant," in my family, over SIXTY years ago).
    Really liked the secret sauce.
    Flash forward.
Eldest son (who just turned 40!?!?)'s first job, age 17, after school -- some days -- & weekends, was at the J in the B, 1 mile from our house.
