That way you can know what flavor you like before you buy it buy the pound or pre-bagged. You'll practically be full before you even buy anything to take with you to eat! LOL! Also, next time you get an Icee, you can squirt a small amount in the cup to try of the different flavors to see which you like, so you don't waste a purchase and get something you won't want to finish, and put the domed lid on before you go to fill up the cup so you can fill it through the hole all the way up the dome! Another great thing about their bathrooms is that not only are they continuously cleaning them all day but inside the stalls on the wall they have a disinfectant foam dispenser where you can squirt on some toilet paper to wipe off the seat if you're worried about it being clean or if someone came out immediately before you went in, and it dries really fast so you're not sitting on a wet seat, and an antibacterial hand cleaner dispenser inside the stall as well!

We got a Buc-ees about six year ago on the gulf coast of Alabama and it was a hoot the first time we experienced it. Love watching the Buc-ees experience through your eyes. The enthusiasm and delight is super fun to watch. You guys asked how it started, I believe. So here you go: Buc-ee’s was founded by Arch Aplin III in 1982, with the first store opening in Clute, Texas. The name “Buc-ee’s” comes from Aplin’s childhood nickname, “Bucky Beaver.” The company started as a gas station and convenience store, with a focus on offering something extra-larger spaces, clean restrooms, and a variety of products not typically found at traditional gas stations.
It will be off of the I-10 at Bullard Avenue in Goodyear, AZ. If it’s near the racetrack, expect it will be very busy when races are happening there. I read about it online through Google searches. I do look that a chain like this is going nationwide.
Buc-ees started in a town called Lake Jackson down on the gulf coast south of Houston. It was originally just a gas station convenience store like any other. Source: I grew up there and the original location was my childhood snack spot up the road from our house.
😂 I was watching that entire video thinking "oooooooh you're gonna spend a lot more money than you think you are!!" 🤣 Buc-ees is a wonderful place.....but you can spend $500 there before you know it pretty easily
Buc-ee's even has Breyer model horses (Stablemates). I totally plotzed when I saw them. I got lost in Buc-ee's, too. You walk in, wander around looking and feeling kind of daft, then you buy a bunch of food and merch, then you can't remember which side you parked on, so you have to wander around again to find your car, then you have to take a nap.
"Milk instead of just half n half." JUST HALF N HALF??? Half milk and half cream is a treat. You're in the rebuilt Luling Buc-ee's. The first time I walked into the original Luling store they were paging for a lost child. My first thought was, 'how can you lose a child in a gas station?' Then I looked around and realized. They're not basically warmed up chips. They are chips fresh out of the oil that fried them. Look around in the gifts and you might find a rattlesnake head paper weight. Automatic knives were universally outlawed in the US in the late 1950s based on Hollywood movies. Gradually the states have come to their senses, so they are legal in almost every state now. You still can't buy them on Amazon or in most stores (like Target, Walmart, etc.). You can buy flipper knives practically everywhere, and they work much like automatic knives. Buc-ee's also has barbecue equipment outside. Or at least they used to.

My oldest son was born close by in Dallas, Texas. Lives in Cambridge New Zealand now! You’ll be careful now! You might wanna stay in Texas. Good people.
In Texas and the southwest we have a lot of ground to cover. Normally Semi-Truck drivers (Truckies in NZ) have all the large complex Truck Stops (RoadHouses) so Buc-ee's is really the same thing for normal drivers. In fact they don't allow Semi-Trucks at all. In general it was the same concept Cracker Barrel did in the 1970's with creating an experience of a country store and restaruant, Buc-ee's decided the road stop whenever you are travelling for hours at a time should be a wonderful experience too. Buc-ee's also knew it was really hard to compete with gas stations on price of gas alone, so by offering so much more they distinguish themselves as a brand and people are generally going to pick to stop there over more traditional gas stations. They can't expand everywhere because they need extreme volumes to stay in business. So buc-ee's only targets large interstate travel corridors that have enough daily traffic to keep them busy all the time. Icee are exactly a frozen fizzy drink. The Icee machine was invented with the idea of freezing sodas. To do so they actually have to cool down the liquid under high pressure so the carbonation does not come out. This high pressure also makes the freezing point very very low. So when you dispense the Icee liquid it is actually freezing and forming ice as it comes out of the nozzle and returns to normal pressure. Oh and don't worry about topping up your drinks after you go shopping, or letting the kids try everything. The Drinks and Food in stores have MASSIVE profit on them, they are paying about $0.05 for each of those cups, if you take $0.01 more out of their profit, they don't care...they want you to be happy and look at more stuff to buy than fight you over pennies.

Buc-ees started as a very small gas station in Brazoria County Texas close to my parent's town. Its where we always went for gas. Always friendly folks and served Barbeque on the side. So fun watching the explosion of their growth.
I've heard that Buc-ee's is awesome. I've heard it described as the world's best tourist trap disguised as a gas station. And this video coming out is a huge coincidence because I just saw another video (can't remember where) that said they were known to have the cleanest bathrooms of any gas station franchise.
@@Big_Tex or "Iowa 80 Truckstop", the worlds largest truckstop, but Loves and Pilot are the preferred stops for Semis, CDL and over the road drivers. They're the ones I always use.
Yeah Buc-ee's is renowned for its clean bathrooms. There are literally billboards off the freeway that have quotes like "you can hold it" and that it will have how many miles to the next Buc-ee's location. It may seem a bit funny to some people but when you're road tripping and clean bathrooms are scarce at least you know you can find one at Buc-ee's. You don't have to walk into a random gas station or fast food place and hope for the best.
Took my mom, nephew, and niece on a trip to Florida a couple years ago and never heard of Buckey's until we noticed one in Georgia. We were like WOW!!!!

Love that ya’ll got to visit this location! My family frequents this location when traveling to San Antonio. We are happy they built this bigger building. The old building was sooooo crowded.
A homeless boy was caught living in one of those restroom stalls. I believe he lived there in Buc ee's for well over a month. He knew the routine of those who were cleaning and avoided them to his advantage. Oh, he ate well when living there. 🤫
I live in the states, the north, and I'm so sad we don't have BUC-EE's here. When we're traveling in the south we stop at every one we see and we're just as amazed with the selection.
The one here in Tennesse is the 2nd largest one. I stop every time I go by. The cotton candy mints are awesome. The bathrooms are never dirty. Always an open gas pump. Enjoy your trips!

for the icee, you're supposed to fill it to the top of the clear plastic lid, to get the max possible! :)
Yup! It's an unspoken rule, you put the lid on the icee, THEN get it full 😂
I don't do that, but I'm weird.
Also stirring it down as you fill it helps because Icees are pretty airy, if you know what I mean.

YESSSSSSS!! I’m sooo happy you went into the bathroom!🤣🤣🤣 that’s my favorite thing about Bucees because if I can hold it in public I will I can’t stand public bathrooms, so bucees bathrooms cleanliness makes me so happy 😂
I was stuck at that Buckees for hours once XD our moving truck broke down. It was summer and the AC was the only thing that worked...off and on...
I'm a Novemeber child and my Birthday falls on Thanksgiving every few years. I always enjoyed 'sharing' it because we always went to visit my Dad's family and I got to pick out a pair of shoes because Papa owned shoe store. My prefered 'cake' is cheesecake. Fall is my favorite time of year overall
That was such a HUGE place😱
I was cracking up when Sam lost the family lol 😂
If u get a chance to have another icee, make it rainbow by layering each color. You guys looked like you had a good time✨💕🥰
I have the Buc-ee's onesie and I wear it on PJ days at school. My students love it!
You always know how to keep it fresh!
Bot
They keep it fresher than bots.
They have the cleanest bathrooms of any type of business
They do have the cleanest public restrooms.
It’s all true my friend.
I love yalls energy when going to new places!
They sell tires and car and truck parts there as well, insane.
Truckers love this place.
Semi's (truckers) aren't allowed to park there.
I think you’re thinking of Loves or Pilot or something
@@Big_Tex or "Iowa 80 Truckstop", the worlds largest truckstop, but Loves and Pilot are the preferred stops for Semis, CDL and over the road drivers. They're the ones I always use.
@@Big_Tex Loves is underrated.
That’s not true. I’m employed there so….
Your editing is perfect, appreciated that!

Took my mom, nephew, and niece on a trip to Florida a couple years ago and never heard of Buckey's until we noticed one in Georgia. We were like WOW!!!!
I love a good truck stop!! Thanks for bringing us along!
Buc-ee's is not a truck stop. In fact, 18 wheelers are not allowed. And they have the cleanest public restrooms ever!! 💕
How does all that shit get delivered there, they're hypocrites.
@@Steve-318they have their merchandise delivered by bicycle.
We always combined all the icee flavors as kids, sounds weird now lol. Thanks for your video, really cool. Never been there and wont be able to so this is an awesome experience.
Been waiting for this one!
Huge fan of your channel for a long time now! I can't express how happy it makes me that my favorite Kiwi family ended up in South Texas for your first trip to the states! I jumped off my couch when I saw you rocking those San Antonio Spurs shorts. Best team in all of American sports!
It's insane how much you say "That's insane."
Or “in my entire life” lol…but it’s cute!😊
It's insane!
Leighgends.
I can appreciate how Buc-ees blows your mind. I've been there so many times I've lost count and it does the same to me every time. However, as I know now the general layout, I know where exactly to go for my favorite things so I DONT get lost looking! 😂😂
Awesome Video, Next Time You Are In The U.S. You Should Make A Plan To Visit The Iowa-80 Truckstop It's Known As The Worlds Largest Truckstop.
Love to see people respond to going to buckees thanks for the video and welcome to Texas
Luling Buc-ees was the first supersized Buc-ees ever built, about 16 years ago. There are Buc-ees over twice the size of this one, and more opening each year.
10:38 - "I see you've played knifey spoony before"
That was a lot of fun - kinda reminded me of watching you guys walk through WalMart for the first time. Thanks for posting this one - can't wait for the next.
my mama loves their brisckett and honey glazed peacans but i like the fudge in Mississippi we're getting our first Buc-ee's in the Spring of 2025 also the tags are stickers
The cashews are good too!! 😊
57 days left till 2025.
@@danajohnson4757 I can believe this.
I like how no one is phased by you all making a video 😊 probably because they’re enchanted by bucees as well
Purple Chevy SSR at 21:56
Love that ya’ll got to visit this location! My family frequents this location when traveling to San Antonio. We are happy they built this bigger building. The old building was sooooo crowded.
The best Buckees snack is the toasted cinnamon sugar pecans
The cashews are pretty good too! 😊
Can't wait for the next video much love from south Texas!
Nadine looked like a kid with their hand in the cookie jar with that noodle...laughing my azz off 😂😂
The one here in Tennesse is the 2nd largest one. I stop every time I go by. The cotton candy mints are awesome. The bathrooms are never dirty. Always an open gas pump. Enjoy your trips!
Buckees is the best
i live in San Antonio and those Spurs shorts you had on are FRESH! It’s cool to know yall were in the area. God bless yall!
Like, if you're american and haven't set foot in a Buc-ee's!
They need a couple in california😂
Bought gas there, but never had the time to explore
It's alright. The food is honestly the only reason I go.
So glad yall came and had a gr8 time! The bathrooms are also very clean, so when on the road, it is one of the best places to stop!
Seguin is rich in history of the Texas war of Independence. Let’s hope and pray civil war doesn’t breakout next week.
I'm glad to be in Texas if it does.
@ me too. Big enough to secede.
Genius marketing. Haven’t been to one in person, but I have had the Beaver Nuggets. Addictive.
Call it a sporkife.😊
4:38 on man we grew up on those. Basic flavors back in the day. cherry / coke / blue raz
Whoever told you that the Buckys in Texas is the largest one they lied to you. The one in Tennessee near Sevierville is the biggest one.
Luling, TX has the largest Buc-ees according to Buc-ees website. Might do some research next time you state what you think is a fact.
The largest Buc-ee's in the United States is located in Luling, Texas, and opened in June 2024:
