I have a problem with everyone being "Thankful" to Phos. They use him and then fuck off, and never look back regardless of what they pushed on him. I was so angry during this and chapter 93. "Thank you for keeping your promise." "Sorry I never was able to understand you." "Thank you." They all said that to him before going to the moon, but never looked back despite knowing what they're forcing onto Phos. Anyways, I know everyone's really sad for Phos spending Ten Thousand Years in suffering, but oddly enough I have not seen anyone mention Phos' new form? He looks a lot like sensei now, which makes me think Sensei might've not been entirely a robot (He DID shatter like a gem). The "robot" might've been the eye given to Phos. My theory is that Phos will grow into the same role as Adamant. Which actually gives me hope because something that a lot of people forget is that, Gems keep being born. Unlike Lunarians, Gems and Snails are a race that keep being born. So I think Phos will be lonely for a while, wondering the earth, before he eventually stumbles into a crude gem, who he'll begin to care for... And soon enough that number will grow, and after Ten Thousand Years pass, he'll have students that look up to him and who he'll want to protect and cherish a life with... One he won't want to give up on. You see where I'm going with this? He might not even remember the likes of Antartacite at that point. Well, more than looking cool I think it was to receive any kind of meaningful recognition from her peers. I only make the distinction because a lot of enlightenment philosophers thought social recognition was key to formation of self(-worth) and I think Ichikawa did a really good job showing how early Phos's 'class clown' thing was a coping mechanism adopted by never being taken seriously by anyone (like 'yeah I meant to do that!') But yeah, look where it led. Sad af lol.

What hurts me the most and makes me wanna cry my guts out is seeing the true Phos who was happy and peppy, and then you see their fate of being abandoned on Earth alone with the once lively school they used to stay in with everyone else. Everyone got a happy ending on the moon. Except Phos. edit: also think all the flashbacks to the old Phos, especially the line "Sensei was always so kind to me" and when Phos was destroying all the gems and saw their old self running through the school.
I remember seeing a post that show a panel of Ventricosus explaining death to Phos, how the "dead" won't remember who they are anymore... then the later chapters show Phos asking "who's that?" when seeing the og version of themself running 😭😭😭

i have a feeling that the author may pull a sudden shift and make Phos indeed pray for happiness, ending all of the suffering that happened and undoing a lot of the harm and changes made to Phos, now Phos? no longer being that and instead being Phos the human-like gem, no longer being tied down by anything and no longer being fragile, nor being affected by Lapis any longer or the manipulation but also remembering all the pain, suffering and more and having became a lot wiser and still less optimistic; that is what i hope for at the very least

i have a feeling that the author may pull a sudden shift and make Phos indeed pray for happiness, ending all of the suffering that happened and undoing a lot of the harm and changes made to Phos, now Phos? no longer being that and instead being Phos the human-like gem, no longer being tied down by anything and no longer being fragile, nor being affected by Lapis any longer or the manipulation but also remembering all the pain, suffering and more and having became a lot wiser and still less optimistic; that is what i hope for at the very least
the anime was so happy, I don't know if i want a second season, i think i don't want to go through all this again

Im my theory, what they mean by the one who will pray is the one who has the will to achieve peace and happiness,because Adamant is defected,he's trying to meditate so he can pray for them but Aechmea wanted to take the eye so they can examine how they will achieve the peace faster because Adamant is taking too long to be functional,so in this chapter,Adamant make his decision to give his eyes to a prayer he choses and that's Phos,that's also the reason why the master fixed Phos so they can achieve peace with his comrades by sacrificing himself,because Phos is the one who has the one who wants peace to stop fighting with Lunarians and also because of Lapis Lazuli's head overtaking by Phos that make his curiosity on why they still fighting and wanted to break free from Lunarians,So Adamant make his decision to give Phos his eyes because like he has 2 Plans,Be the one who will pray and the one who will pray for him,so his work is done and found a "Human"(like he's saying Phos became a human because of how he wants the peace and happiness and wants to stop and put an end to them fighting Lunarians)So Phos kind of confused what's really is happening,what in his mind is Aechmea used him to take Adamant's Eye,that's why he connect Adamant's Eye to his Left Eye where Lapis Lazuli Eye located that also broke when he fking inted a bunch of his friends,Which is also part of Aechmea's Plan,to make another human that will pray for them,maybe Aechmea collect all the pieces of Phos Friends because Aechmea don't want Phos to fix them and go back where Gems and Lunarians fight so Aechmea do it to make Phos pray for them and maybe a huge sacrifice will happen if Phos prays for them...Who knows.
The saddest part to me was when Euc gave up and left phos decapitate them :(
