(Since I've been seeing some confusion, I'd like to clarify that OG Phos' skin tone isn't meant to be darker than how they normally appear, it's just that I didn't take into account how upping the saturation would look in comparison to their surroundings, haha. I was going for the warm vibes I got from a Midsommar poster.)
Six months ago I began work on this AMV, making it the longest time I've worked on an animation. Hard to believe that's half a year! In addition, the upload date of this animation marks two years of drawing every day. Yes, I have been doing that still, I just haven't been posting my monthly updates. Too much of a hassle, lol.
Generally speaking, I wanted this animation to explore what it was like for Phos during the 10,000 years. We know they lived through memories on a loop, but which ones and how clear they are is more up for fan interpretation.
Post-10,000 years, Phos seems to remember their early days, unlike how it was before, so I'd imagine that over time the order of events became clearer. But at first, I think that they'd get things mixed up. What did they look like when they were shattered for 220 years, who were they talking to that one time- things like that.
I'd also like to add that the choice to hide Phos' eyes for most of this video is based on the symbolism from the series. In HNK, eyes have become symbolic of one's desires. Phos cycles through many different desires, all of which would certainly become jumbled due to the state of their mind.

honestly, the HnK fandom has some of the best artists and animators I have ever seen, I don't think any other fandom has such dedicated fanbase, this was an incredible trip!! congrats on your work!!

I can’t begin to comprehend how long it took to animate this, not even mentioning the stellar editing. You’re truly one of the most amazing animators I’ve seen and you really are special in the HnK fandom. You inspire me so much!!

What the hell? This video took so many different aspects of talent to make. From being so talented at art, to being amazing at animation, to artistic direction, music rhythm and for the love of god the EDITING. Jesus you're a freaking prodigy. Like just seeing the rotoscope technique being used made my jaw drop. It took so much knowledge, passion and talent to make this video across different spectrums of technique. Simply amazing.

this is one of my favorite songs, i didn’t think of how it fits houseki no kuni so well. “i order you to cower and pray”, “doctor, i can’t tell if i’m not me”, wow! and your animation is breathtaking, thank you land of the lustrous artists for carrying the fandom
