Finally, the updated version of my previous olive skin video is here 🫒Thank you all for waiting so patiently, and a special thanks to my lovely and beautiful followers for being my models 🫶 If you're still confused about olive skin, please let me know! I'll try to answer your questions in my next video, which will focus on makeup recommendations for olive skin 👩🎨
Thank you for this amazing video. I'm curious to know about the blush for medium skin. Its not mentioned in the clip or the description. I tried to do some research of my own, are you using Tower 28 - BeachPlease Luminous Tinted Balm in Magic Hour?
I'm recognizing patterns here, muted color. I always seek foundation that has a bit grey/muted color beside green tint, cause I think I have the neutral olive skin, not warm olive. No wonder I look so bad in vivid color, eventho I choose nude lipcream, but if its too much orange/pink without the muted grey/brown tint, it washed me out. Now I'm a bit struggling to find my blush color, but this helped me so much, thanks Haley! I hope we have so much option for olive complexion in the future, not just adding green tint on every complexion, cause it's so rare in here😢
SAMEE, bright colors makes me look like a clown lmao for the blush, I'm trying to find a cheaper alternative but my inspos are the haus labs stick blush in glassy hibiscus and the bare minerals blonzer in kiss of mauve, hope this helps!
I’m in a situation where the only foundation mute enough to suit my skin is just the lightest shade available (I am medium tan). Thankfully I was able to use a too-yellow shade that is a tad dark by adding a tiny drop of blue shade corrector, greying it out a bit to make it the right temperature and lightness. It’s not for rushed mornings but at least it’s something. Still working out how to fix my too-red shade (it looked neutral in the store 😢) but if it’s too troublesome (ex. Too much shade corrector changes the formula and consistency of the foundation) I might have to give it away 😕
If you’re searching for blushes but have some idea of what lip products look good on you, you can just try to apply a tiny bit of lip product on your cheeks to see what kind of colour and finish you want. Honestly, I can’t be bothered to buy blush bc I have some lip glosses that do the job just right for the finish I want. These are also the lippies I found myself reach a lot less for these days so it’s a nice way to repurpose them. Two birds with one stone since I can finish them up and downsize my collection 😁
@@SleepEludesMe647 Yea, I agree. L.a. Girl Pro Color Foundation Mixing Pigment the blue plus the white one actually looking good when I mix into the way-too-orangey L'Oreal Paris Infallible Fresh Wear liquid foundation in the shade of 120 Vanilla when on naked eyes. Even my friends can't see the colour differences when they look into my face with naked eyes. But when I'm taking photo, the blue actually showing very obviously on the camera =/ since pigment is so saturated when compared to the original foundation formula.
This is JUST what I've been looking for and I LOVE that you included both foundation/concealer AND eyeshadows!! I've been struggling with my eyeshadows, and I actually love that you put examples of what it looks like to have a cool-toned eyeshadow on olive skin - it looks exactly like how mine looks!! Thanks so much
No wonder nude colours don't work well on me. It's not flattering for olive skin. Thank you so much for this video! I'm currently really attracted to try muted warm rose colour for my lips so knowing that I'm on the right track feels very reassuring. Really looking forward to the recommendation video!!
Lip colours with just a tad of purple usually looks good too. Lip colours with a tad of muted orange often looks better on warmer olives. Or colours that are muddy. Most red tone densed muted dark chocolate looks good too for olive skintone, in my humble opinion. I wonder Maybelline Superstay Vinyl Ink in the shade of 62 Irresistable does fall in the flattering lip colour range for olives?
So that’s the misconception. Bright colors will usually wash olive undertones out. You will actually look brighter and more healthy in muted colors. Have you noticed that you look really good in grey clothing? That’s why.
this is super helpful! i have neutral-cool undertones but it’s confusing bc when i’m tan my color season flips warmer because it accentuates my yellow overtone - a lot of the clothes that looked good on me when i was pale look bad on me rn with my tan skin. i’ve gone from the summer season when pale to autumn when tan please continue to make more long form/youtube olive skin content! i wish there were more guides out there

This is such a clear and thorough lesson for Olive-toned people! I wish this had existed years ago. I had to figure these out with trial and error and unfortunate purchases. I was told I was a deep winter girl, so I kept trying cool toned, vibrant products that just made me look gaudy. Knowing what I know from experience and what I've learned from you through the years, I have high hopes for it!
Super helpful! I liked that you had models not just photos. I think it's hard to capture in still images. Maybe why I struggled to figure out my undertone. And I rarely saw olive as an option
Thank you! Such a relief knowing you are not alone searching foundation that suits green/blue undertones. My favourite was CT Light Wonder 6, but it is discontinued.
i have golden olive undertones and find neutral foundation shades look very pink on me. if i can't find a foundation with olive undertones then a foundation with golden undertones works well on me, like chanel BD41. mac studio radiance serum foundation in C4 and mac studio fix fluid in C40 are my best foundation matches for reference.
Love these Olive videos! I’m a light/medium warm Olive, Current foundation routine is mixing a neutral foundation with bit of green concealer and a drop of warm foundation 😅 seems to work perfectly, really hoping that brands add more olive shades, till then I mix 👩🏽🔬did want to add I started using a light concealer with a peach color instead of a neutral one and it just seems to blend nicely. Only certain purple and green eye shadows look nice on me.
Wow Haley, this video was just chef's kiss! Very informative! Thanks for showing us that are face and body undertones can sometimes be different. My upper body has all different shades with my face being a lot darker than my chest. It look weird if I matched my foundation to my chest. Would love to see more darker skinned models. Need a brand to cater to just olive undertones so it isn’t hard to find, I am constantly trying to find makeup that isn’t too warm, cool and neutral isn’t that great on me either as I still look grey.
I have a strong feeling I have an olive undertone. I did the “test” on accident when I took a grad group pic with my buddies and I looked distinctly “yellow or green hues”compared to my warmer friends. (Indian btw) I’m just getting started with makeup so I haven’t invested in a good concealer or foundation really but I’m not sure if I’m warm, cool or neutral. I know I definitely can’t pull off those nudes or cool pink lipsticks, but I tend to favour the shade of (for lack of better word) beetroot juice and berry shades. Like they look natural on me! I also tend to look good in clothes of deep gemshades like bottle green, navy blue maroon, and red and beige, some shades of pink and white. I recently got myself a Rom&nd juicy tint in the shade Peeling Angdoo and I think it looks good on me! So I’ve never really liked too muted colours on my face. I think they wash me out:/ Do anyone have any advice/tips for me? Btw: I don’t think the Sephora near me gives out foundation samples so I don’t think I can try that.😔
I also don't do well with muted tones and I am a cool olive. I need more saturation but not necessarily brightness in my colours. When I got colour typed I was a deep winter and also work well with beetroot and berry lip colours and gem colours for clothing, etc. Have a look at that palette for inspiration?
@@pandacadabra Ohh that’s so interesting! I completely agree with saturated over brightness! I’m the same. So I definitely look better in gold than silver so I have some warmth in me but also do pull some cool from the berry shades. I looked it and I think I might be a dark autumn? A Somewhat cool dark autumn! Aka Warm leaning neutral olive perhaps, not sure if that’s even a thing lol but oh well! Thanks for your response!

Found another Indian olive girl. I find most base products in market don't work for me so please be cautious. Also I feel like most pinks look awful on me.
Im a light-medium olive with a cool undertone, and I’m struggling to find my perfect mlbb, I would love to see a video with more mlbb recommendations for cool olive!
Woah this is so great! I def need muted lippies specifically lipstick but it’s hard to find one or brands that cater to our skin. Even if I asked the merchandiser about “muted” they don’t know about it and would just direct me to nude shades but nude doesn’t suit me as an olive skin undertone
omg!!! Thank you so much. I recently just found out that I’m a cool olive despite every single person telling me I’m warm… I find a lot of people working in Sephora or whatever will just see a brown/tan person and tell them that they have a warm undertone lmao.
Try Alexandra Anele, American RUclipsr. She is great too. And a descendant of Lithuanian, so she naturally has that olive undertone which is really common among Lithuanians.
The models look beautiful and makeup shades complimented them well except for a green eyeshadow on deeper skinned model. I think you were spot on with lipstick shades. 🔥
Thank you for this video. I just realize that I have olive undertones and no wonder why I struggle to find the right foundation for me. The vast majority of foundations and concealers here are catered for warm undertones (I'm in the Philippines) so I end up not using a foundation. Will going to look up online for foundations for olive skin.
Anyone has the situation where in the morning, my skin looks very bright but by the end of the day it turns darker, greyish? Even tho i only use sunscreen, no foundation.
I have a hard time finding a setting powder for olive skin. Everyone recommends yellow and that looks so bad on me and people ask me if I’m sick. I’m a tan warm olive and agree neutral tones work better for me. What tone of setting powder do you recommend. A foundation that matches me well is Armani shade 9 but it’s a bit dark.
Thanks a lot for this video! As someone whose skin is warm olive living in Indonesia, it's really hard to find the perfect foundation/concealer shade that doesn't make me gray. Most warm shades here lean towards orange/reddish, so they look bad on me. So far I've only found 2 shades from 2 local brands that work on me, but sadly one of them is discontinued 😢
If you can purchase color corrector drops (Temptu is one brand) or green or blue color corrector of any brand, you can mix those into any foundation formula you like that is the right depth and is easily available to you to create your own custom color to suit you perfectly. It’s not as challenging as it might sound, although not as easy as buying the color match right off the shelf. But this means you can quickly customize a foundation formula that looks good on your skin except is not olive enough. Good luck 🫒🍀
Thank you Haley ,but i have a doubt, when i try muted peachy or pink lipstick,it pulls out orange on me , for a nude look i put deep wine or chocolate berry shade (i just dap it instead of swiping) I have olive medium skin tone
Hi, I think it might be because of the lip colour. I have light olive(in between the first and the second model)skin, but my lips are in a pale pink colour, I would say it has more purple hue than red(a bit like those who are experiencing too much coldness thus the lip turns pale and purplish pink) so it make me look even more pale in general. And even though my skin tone is more towards neutral, because of my lip colour, a slightly cool tone colour(with some blue/purple) will work better on me than the neutral colour that is recommended by the video. If you check out the lip colour of the 4 models, there is no one who has this kind of lip colour. When I put mac’s diva(it’s a berry/wine colour) very lightly on my lips, they literally look like mlbb with the hue enhanced as a dusty rose colour. And I generally found that those muted peachy/pink shades do not look good on me whether they are eyeshadows or lipsticks, I guess it might be due to my lip colour which affects the overall visionary of skin tone(as in how we see the colour) as a result.
@@nikirikisuki yep ,deep berry or wine shades with little bit of red and brown suits me better ,for mlbb I just dab it . Bobbi brown telluride, glossier ember and recently Revlon rumberry shades suits me better
Will lilac/purply blushes look bad on olive skin like Smitha's ? I was matched with Bobbi Brown Natural -04, MAC NC35 liquid foundation. I flush and tan in heat . And I look good in pale gold and silver but also oxidised gold ware too. A lot of pinks like MAC's twig pull brown on me. I look good in Vintage taupe and Flat out fabulous looks like a cool pink on me and looks good. Not sure what my undertone is. Help !
I need to know what foundation brand and shade the second swatch was on the 3rd model. ( when you showed all the swatches on each person beside one another at 3.06 )
Hi, Haley! How would you advise someone with an olive undertone living in Korea? I suspect I have olive undertone since none of the foundations and cushions I've tried seem to be my tone. As you know, Korean beauty brands don't make foundation for olive undertones, and the only option is to buy foundations from western brands via the internet. The problem is, I have no idea which olive foundation will be a good fit for my skin because I can't swatch them. Do you (or anyone reading this) have any advice for this? Thank you. Love your content!
If you're a pale olive, try the numbuzin 'No 3 Porcelain Base Skip Tone Up Beige' (a handful to say, I know). It's like a light BB cream that blends into my pale olive skin beautifully; it is slightly pinkish, but I find that subtly brings a little 'life' or flush to my skin. My sister got it as a freebie from Korea and gave it to me, and now it's my accidental holy grail product 😂
The first time i realized i have olive undertone is when i took half my make up once at night and realized i look so green compared to the side where i had my make up on which was slightly orange. No wonder my complexion always look greyish, i always thought i had neutral to warm undertones😭
I have light to medium skin undertone with muted in chroma i look great in these colors you have suggested for eyeshadow i love netural browns golden shimmers and muted abit daek peaches or oranges for lips i love to go for lipsticks cloae to my natural lip color but how about red i feel its not my best color are there some shades of red are recommended to olives pls answer some says cool reds are better some says orange red is better im confused about this color
I think i'm olive becose i match all the best , but the problem i have blue and purple veins so i'm a little lost , i don't know if i'm a mixed of pink and olive ?
It confuses me, that in most of the "olive skin" videos, only girls with dark eyes and dark hair are shown. I am caramel blonde, blue-green eyed and the only foundations that fit me, are the ones that say "olive", like Dior 2WO or Armani L.S. in 6 etc. All other foundation shades look either too pink, too peach or too ashy on me ("neutral" shades are mostly too pink or ashy, too). In winter, my skin undertone looks very green and in summer I turn a more golden tan colour. So, I assume I have to be olive?? Thanks for your answer!! 😍
You can certainly be olive regardless of your hair and eye color, it’s just quite common in populations with dark eyes + hair so that’s the usual representation.
I have cool and olive undertones and here in Europe you normally only find warm or neutral foundation/ concealers. Many companies don‘t even produce cool tones, not to mention olive ones :‘)
5:58 But she’s not light skin, she’s medium skin. Light skin would be the East Asian girl (Haley Kim?) who is narrating the video 😅. I am similar to the East Asian girl (Haley) and the first model. My fave has more pinkish huge compared to the rest of my body. But I am fair-light. A but in between. When I have sun exposure my skin turns more olive like the East Asian Girl (Haley) but the areas of my skin with no sun exposure like my legs and chest area is like that of the first model 😅
For me, i have never used foundation, but i have an olive eyeshadow in my palette. When i put it on my face, it look like I’m putting on contour. That’s how I know I have olive undertone😂
My opinion. Olive tones look muddy. This is for women that are clueless. Don’t worry I was once there. Take a look at Dior shades “olive”. It does look like a shade that just doesn’t fit in anywhere. This is probably how you feel everytime you bring make up home and it’s still doesn’t look right 💛
Finally i can understand why i am pale and stronger cool color don’t suit me and also all my lipstick are in peach brown cool colors …… my worst colors are true nudes purple and true pinks ….
The third girl, the one with the green make up, she needs to go to the doctor and get her thyroid checked up cause she has exoftalmos, one of Graves disease manifestations/signs!
Not a fan of the makeup looks. Iam a bright medium skin olive undertone and reds and oranges make my skin immediately glow. I was surprised you recommended green. Browns, reds and oranges are my best friends

The vast majority of foundations and concealers here are catered for warm undertones (I'm in the Philippines) so I end up not using a foundation. Will going to look up online for foundations for olive skin.
I am olive but clearly cool undertone so neutral foundation tends to work best.
*THANK YOU SO MUCH!!* 🫒🫶🏼
My pleasure!! Hope it was helpful 🫒
OMG. This video was genius!!!! You're a magician for the elusive, olive-skin, forgotten gals... ♥♥♥ How can I give you 1M likes????
This video is so good! Thank you ❤
Very insightful!! Thanks for sharing this with us 😃😄
You’re so welcome❤❤
as someone who struggles to find foundation + concealer w a cool olive undertone, this video is a godsend
Anyone has the situation where in the morning, my skin looks very bright but by the end of the day it turns darker, greyish? Even tho i only use sunscreen, no foundation.
Me 😓
It is possible that your sunscreen is oxidizing on your skin. I have the same problem
Yes, it’s likely your sunscreen oxidizing. Maybe try another brand and see if it still happens.
This was helpful.. wow. Thank you so much for sharing with us. ❤
Great tips thank you! I believe I’m Olive with cool. Would be interested in hair colors that compliment as well thanks
Ughh this video is perfect for me and makes me feel so comforted!
Olive undertone sis here. Somedays it drives me crazy and other days it feels like a superpower!
Do you have any drugstore recs for light cool olive?
Thank you so so soooo much Haley!!
Olive skin is very dreamy, diffused, and beautiful. I hope you will see that in yourself and come to appreciate our olive 🫒 skintones. 🤍
Thank you Haley ,but i have a doubt, when i try muted peachy or pink lipstick,it pulls out orange on me , for a nude look i put deep wine or chocolate berry shade (i just dap it instead of swiping)
I have olive medium skin tone
How about Espoir?
I think they make olive undertone foundation too.
Or just mix in green, make your own colour then.
Bonjour, oui de plus en plus de marques sortent des produits pour les sous tons Olive, allellouia. Merci pour tous ces conseils💚💚💚
Lesquelles? 👀

The first time i realized i have olive undertone is when i took half my make up once at night and realized i look so green compared to the side where i had my make up on which was slightly orange. No wonder my complexion always look greyish, i always thought i had neutral to warm undertones😭
After buying so many foundations that dont match, I have realized I have an olive undertone. But how do I find out if its cool olive or warm olive?
I believe I‘m a neutral warm olive undertone, for seasonal color analysis a NW, but for makeup I’m a olive. It’s been a confusing journey ngl …
Needed thiss, tysm😄
I have light to medium skin undertone with muted in chroma i look great in these colors you have suggested for eyeshadow i love netural browns golden shimmers and muted abit daek peaches or oranges for lips i love to go for lipsticks cloae to my natural lip color but how about red i feel its not my best color are there some shades of red are recommended to olives pls answer some says cool reds are better some says orange red is better im confused about this color
you are the best! thanks
Try Korean brand then.
They produce so much muted cooler shades that often present as grey cast on my neutral leaning warm skin LOL
Whats the opposite of muted? I need something "clear" otherwise it just looks like dirt on me
Bright, saturated
I think I might be olive olive undertone now
For me, i have never used foundation, but i have an olive eyeshadow in my palette. When i put it on my face, it look like I’m putting on contour. That’s how I know I have olive undertone😂
I think i have olive undertone bc warm still too pink for me but i love cool tone pink
How pretty u r
so helpful!! this is why all foundations look dirty on me, even neutral
Hi Haley big fan from india❤🇮🇳
My opinion. Olive tones look muddy. This is for women that are clueless. Don’t worry I was once there. Take a look at Dior shades “olive”. It does look like a shade that just doesn’t fit in anywhere. This is probably how you feel everytime you bring make up home and it’s still doesn’t look right 💛
I think I might be a neutral or cool olive, but it's really hard to tell.
Finally i can understand why i am pale and stronger cool color don’t suit me and also all my lipstick are in peach brown cool colors …… my worst colors are true nudes purple and true pinks ….
I’m still confused.
😕 🫤 😐 I'm still confused 😕 🫤 😐
The third girl, the one with the green make up, she needs to go to the doctor and get her thyroid checked up cause she has exoftalmos, one of Graves disease manifestations/signs!
I love your videos, i’m usually very confused between which shades to go for but now it’s clearer, thanksss 🫶🏻
Ahh hope it was helpful 🥹 thank you!!
you're the savior of us olive girlies 💕🫒
Not a fan of the makeup looks. Iam a bright medium skin olive undertone and reds and oranges make my skin immediately glow. I was surprised you recommended green. Browns, reds and oranges are my best friends
Maybe you are very warm, that's why.
AHHH i want to give 1000 likes to this video🫶🏾🔥🫶🏾 thank you so much!!!
