- Ultraman Leo Episode 1:
Gen Ohtori, Ultraman Leo's human form, on Earth, trains at the training place. Meanwhile, Ultraseven is engaged in battle with two twin monsters -- Red and Black Giras. As Seven fights, the master of the two beasts, Alien Magma, appears and tips the scale further in their favor. After his leg is severely fractured by the Black Giras, a new hero appears and saves Seven from certain death. It's Ultraman Leo from the barren Nebula L77 in the Leo Constellation. Magma and the Giras Monsters are driven off, but Dan Moroboshi is unable to transform back into Ultraseven.
Dan tells Gen he must protect the earth, and gets him to join MAC (Monster Attacking Crew), of which he is the captain. Gen brings the news of his membership to the sports club. He spends time with Kaoru. He then begins to train the intrepid Ultra, harshly. Soon, Red and Black Giras return, sinking an island.
Gen reports to MAC. He believes Alien Magma is behind the sinking, but no evidence is found. Then the monsters attack Tokyo, devastating it. The sports club flees, but Gen transforms. Leo battles the monsters, but is no match for them.

It shows how newer ultra series shows that threats have gone exponentially stronger and that old S tier villains are super weak now .
Well idk if this logic works but, alien magmas are supposed to be an alien race, so the one in leo might be superior by age and knowledge, and the mebius one could be a younger version of the alien magma race, but i could be wrong. Since the logic can go both ways like the alien barossa where there’s not only 1 barossa but tens of thousands of them, or it can also be the same magma alien because in mega monster battle : ultra galaxy, belial can spawn an alien magma, and for now we don’t know which alien magma he spawned, it could be the one in leo or it could be another alien magma, the point is that the continuity is confusing
This ain't unusual. I mean, Zetton damn near killed the original Ultraman, but in turn got bodied by Ultraman Jack. Mephilas was an episode's main villain in the original Ultraman and escaped alive, but gets thoroughly manhandled and killed by Taro.

Since when did dan moroboshi (ultraseven) became captain for Mac? Is there something I missed
Well originally the actor who played Dan was supposed to play someone else who would’ve been the Captain of MAC but he said that audiences would confuse him for Dan so they had him reprise the role under the condition that he couldn’t transform pass the first episode.

Considering this canonically take place after Ultraman Taro, I think Taro should have stayed on Earth a little bit longer. Worse decision ever, Taro.

19:21 What Dan says does not make sense. There is no point for Gen joining the MAC, he should have just be the on call fighter for Dan. "Hey Gen, there is a monster that MAC's radar cannot find, but I know where it is, go kill it!" When enemies are not following human's rule and making tsunami and killing thousands of people, you don't want to follow rule that you are given upon yourself. If Leo + MACCY-1 and maybe submarines inside MACCY-1 destroy those two monsters together, Tokyo would not be sunk and many people would not have died.

in the manga continuity, L77 planet within the Leo constellation was one of those affected by the light of the Plasma Spark that radiated across the universe from the Land of Light, but only the members of the royal family, specifically, Leo, Astra, and their father, got affected by the light and gained the power to transform into Ultraman
when the Magma Aliens attacked L77, Leo and Astra's dad died in battle, Leo and Astra managed to evacuate their mother and all other refugees that had taken shelter at the royal palace in a space shuttle, but L77 imploded immediately after the shuttle's take off, Leo and Astra got caught in the blast and were separated, the shuttle was also believed to have gotten caught in the blast, so when Leo regained consciousness, he was all alone and didn't know what became of his brother or of his people from L77
Leo made his way to Earth and found Ultraman Seven, who told him to fight for Earth and defend it from invaders and monsters
Astra later showed up and it was revealed that he had been captured by the Magma Aliens and would have been sold as a slave had the Ultraman King not liberated him
when Leo finished his duties as a protector of Earth, he and Astra became escorts of the Ultraman King
