- This is a story about a girl who had complications when she was a child and had to take blood thinners since she was a child. But what would she do when her wisdom tooth starting hurting? She went to so many dentists and other oral surgeons to get some help and advised her to not remove it. Except for one who said it was going to be okay. When she got it removed, everything seemed fine until a few days after. She started to bleed profusely and had to be rushed to several hospitals losing half of her blood count, suffering from 2 seizures and a heart attack too. She suffered PTSD from it and developed an unhealthy attachment to her blanket. IT took a long time and therapy for her to recover but she remains positive that she will.
We chose this story because we want to encourage people to speak up if something similar has happened to them and to seek help if they're still in such a situation. We hope this video will encourage people to feel empathy and compassion for those who have gone through such experiences. And we hope that it will encourage us all to do what we can to prevent these things from happening. Even if it does happen we want to encourage people to speak up for their own safety

I'm a dentist, he should not extract teeth if patient is on blood thinners, he should refer to her cardiologist to stop those meds for few days then he should have performed surgery, then advise patients to be on her meds after cardio visit

It is most likely extra wisdom teeth prices meaning that the dentist/oral surgeon was doing what they were meant to.
At 1:16 you hear her say that many surgeons said they won't do the surgery because there would be complications. Only 1 agreed. They should have heard the word no and looked for alternatives.

Wow. After everything she’s been though it’s hard to believe she survived. I wish I could be a fighter like her. If I was in that situation I would die. Either naturally or I’d take my own life. Her parents and loved ones must be so grateful for her to still be here today.

I honestly hope this won't keep people from going to the dentists, teeth issues can cause serious troubles in the long run.
This dentist doesn't sound like a professional, but considering she said many declined them because they saw her medical history I would say he is one black sheep in a million. I am confused though why she hadn't had it done in a hospital in the first place, it was obviously a needed procedure but none that the average dentist had the means to deal with.
She should of had an oral surgeon due it instead or an average dentist.
I'm glad my dentist and doctors are both good and honest people after hearing this story. Unfortunately, a lot of doctors do this.

I'm a therapist, and her carrying the blanket in the beginning was a good call. She needed to come to that decision herself. The therapist was worth his or her salt because therapy helped her to get rid of the blanket on her own as opposed to a lot of therapists who would hyoerfocus on the blanket without truly understanding the meaning (that's a third level of change, btw).

I had my last wisdom tooth and two molars removed 2 days ago by an oral surgeon. The fact that this dentist in the video didn’t instruct the girl to be off her medications for a few days before she had gotten treatment is a major red flag that the doctor that girl and her mom went to doesn’t take his job seriously and also doesn’t care about this person’s medical history at all.

Don't worry, it's alright, my immune system is weak and I'm always cold, I really don't care about what other people think when it's about my relationship with my blanket.
My left lower wisdom teeth was horrible, there where fractured bones and it took years for them to be gone... To this day, I get once every 4-6 months a swelling they where removed around 2008...
I hope this will never happen to you in the future, don't be afraid. And the blanket, we should have a blanket group. I can't be without it... 💙💙💙

My niece was born with a whole in her heart she had the same limitations and it was hard to get a dentist for her we had to travel to a large city to get a dentist and cardiologist who would perform the procedure not even the most simple procedure could be done without a cardiologist handy

I only went to dentist once at the age of 16 when one of my baby tooth didn't fall even move a little bit. And the new tooth was trying to come out . Because of that my gums swell . After removing the old tooth my new tooth came out in 2 days. Except that one tooth and 1 or 2 other which may dad used to pick out when I was little, I remember I was the one picking out all my other baby teeth.

I passed out at the dentist last week, I was getting a cavity filled without anesthesia (My wish, im not too fond of the idea of a needle poking my gums.) The dentist was drilling and the next thing I know, I pass out.

She was on blood thinners, if you have high blood pressure or any cardiac related activity it's best to get a medical clearance for surgery or stress it enough to a Dentist. Some will understand and depending on the complications of the extraction, If you dont then you may bleed out and basically what happened here....

My friends dentist (which was a girl dentist) twisted her tooth to make her get braces. My friend and her Guardian was not happy with it. I don’t know if they done something about it, I would have to ask my friend if they did.
I actually have this comfort blanket that is like pink with white dots, I bring it with me in case I feel scared because it makes me feel safe so ur not the only one btw im only ten so its cute when I do it :3

i have a fear of denists too. when i was younger i needed to get a tooth pulled. but it was horrible the denist didnt wait for my gum to be numb, they had other denists hold me down while he or she pulled the teeth out. they wouldn't let my dad near me because he was trying to stop them and wouldn't let my mom go in to the room either. i was screaming and crying because of the pain. now i don't trust denists and fear them.
