The flood moon rises
“Shut up Zelda, I’m finding Koroks”
This comment deserves more likes... it's rare to see good Zelda references.
I have to be honest I didn’t know it was a reference to anything
@@mr.marker6449 terraria?
nice reference to the "they might be giants album" called "flood"
Opponent hits LVD to -269 life into the "nice!"
Nice.
Nice.
269 is a good bargain
Funny how it was a manual edit too. 🤣
@@ChitoBandito6 I didn't actually notice that at first.
This deck seems to have a talent for drawing the Flare of Denial exactly one turn after it needed the Flare of Denial.
I play merfolk in historic. It crushes it, and I have gotten all the way to Mythic 98 only with that deck.
In my testing, Glasspool Mimic is too slow and both Reejery and Tidebinder are incredible overperformers. Reejery allows you to dump the rest of your hand the next turn, or can tap down opposing blockers. Tidebinder is an incredible answer to many meta decks. Control, Devotion (craterhoof), vampires, etc.
What’s the decklist?
I agree with you

I think the sideboard is the jankiest part of the deck. If you could help me build a better sideboard, it would be greatly appreciated.
I'm really excited to try Merfolk in timeless, with the harbinger + master synergy. I also think that Subtlety (the blue evoke elemental) and flare of denial will be great additions to merfolk.
Can you send the deck list please? I found myself powercrept and stopped winning lately, so looking for an upgrade
Whats the decklist? Mythic with it?
I feel like this deck really wants Tishana's Tidebinder over Mimics. I admit I don't play Timeless, but that card just shuts down so much of what I see regularly played in Timeless decks.
Mimic is primarily a land that happens to be a creature we can hit with Company. So we can't easily replace it with a different creature without adding more lands to the deck. I agree that there are some other great Merfolk we could add to the list in favor of some of the land hate, as I summarized in the conclusion. But for the purposes of this video I wanted to push some of the non-basic land hate to its limits to see how the deck would perform.
That Nadu deck was cool, needs some LVD coverage.😂
I love Merfolk decks, thanks LVD.
Really cool deck. Merfolk is always fun.
Merfolk are awesome! Love seeing them in Timeless! Appreciate you tons Luca!!!
I love the (not so) subtle note of disgust in '... digital cards...'. Your voice is a symphony, LVD!
Nice, it's been a while since you made a merfolk deck
Love Merfolk. I think Merfolk Tunnel Guide is much better than Silvergill Adept, especially in Timeless vs Orcish Bowmasters. 4x Tunnel Guides overperform for me in Historic.
Makes sense! I'm not too familiar with Alchemy cards, so those tend to be forgotten.
Loving that Artifact deck you played against twice.
269 nice
Lvd on Sunday?! Beautiful.
That artifact deck looks nasty
Just pulled harbinger from a bundle yesterday. Ready to throw that bad boi in a deck.
Match 4 you might have been able to win if you took the mimic copying the lord, swing for 1 extra damage on turn 4, and then not casting flare and swing for 7 (5 creature itself 2 from the lord pump) extra damage on turn 5, which would be exactsies. With the Kozileks unsealing and Simulacrum synthesizer on the board with all the artifacts, there likely going to go off regardless of any interaction so focussing on dealing as much damage might he the move. Hindsight 20/20 though
Nice nice nice nice...
How can this type of person be invited for this events.
Honestly don't know these days, but step one is making MTG content.
Was that by chance game TWO against that opponent during the recording? The commentary for the second game in the video against the same opponent kinda implied that one was the first show-off instead.
I checked out his stream and its not as bad as it seems - the first nice he was just surprised that his land came in untapped, and the second one was he seemed genuinely excited at how close the match was.
What would happen when you modify this deck by integrating blood moon? All non basic lands are mountains and islands at the same time?
"Which takes precedence depends on their timestamp order (C.R. 613.7, 613.1d). For example, if Harbinger of the Seas has a later timestamp than Blood Moon (e.g., because it entered the battlefield later), then nonbasic lands are Islands and no other land types (C.R. 203.1a). If vice versa, Mountains and no other land types (C.R. 203.1a)."
Match 5 was against Crim from MTG goldfish. 😂
Merfolk didn't seem timeless strong - could possibly do a different fun blue deck with the two "blue moon" cards, though?
Possibly! Blood Moon is the more reliable card since it doesn't die to the new Evoke creatures. So if that's our plan I would stick to the Gruul land destruction deck featured some time ago with minor updates.
@@LegenVD Haha - probably wise - but blue is *blue* XD
Islandwalk is back, baby!
A Merfolk Deck????!! Don't mind if I do!!!
Hey LVD! Do you have a favourite format?
Brawl!
@@LegenVD Nice! That's the only Arena Format i Play :)
This format seems so fast and feast or famine.
-269 damage. Nice.
@27:37
That 'nice' was so gay.
LVD with the "Nice!" post-editing is hilarious 😂. That guy probably shouldn't be invited to play early access next time. LVD holding his cool during the first game is admirable, plus he got revenge later. 😎 Respect, Luca.
darn... Syntheziser is one busted card. I think there will be ban or nerf of that card in the future.
Oh no. I hate those Incarnation cards more than any other in MTG. I'm so sad they brought them into Arena : (
Primero :D

Merfolks look too weak for timeless ngl.
Standart?
MH3 isn't legal in Standard, but there's a huge backlog of videos for you to catch up on in the meantime!

How many more of these "pitch a card, play for free" cycles are they going to pump out? What a boring mechanic.
I think its fun it can be a challenge sleclecting what card to pitch and what to keep for certain situations
We can all agree that Wizards putting this set on arena was a mistake right?
The writing was on the wall with alchemy. Arena is good for standard/draft the non rotating formats are a shit show
@@danielstein8769 not really. I'm having fun in alchemy, explorer, and historic. It depends on what decks you play.
I dont agree at all. I am excited for timeless and historic with These new cards
@@strangelaw6384 digital only cards are bland and so is non interactive turn 3 (or sooner) wins. Magic suffers from this in paper but it's curated even more poorly on arena. Ill probably play draft forever but the game design and meta game are victims of colossal bloat and powercreep. I won't touch commander with a 10 ft pole so yeah, to each their own. I was just agreeing with OP that wizards is incapable of curating/not injecting power creep into eternal formats
@@danielstein8769 I'm having fun games of more than 5 turns with either me or my opponent coming back after seemingly landslide advantages. I've faced diversed opponents like mill, midrange, and stompy with different combinations of colors. This is in alchemy and sometimes explorer. If you want to get matched with these types of opponents, there's a trick.
This archetype has got to be the worst idea ever lol, as in card design wise.
I can tell you're scared of a simple archipelago. Pathetic!
How so?
Found the nonbasic player
@@-Karnage Cheap unblockables with conterspells and tap/untap permanents?, yeah, sounds like a fun archetype.
Even slithers are more fun than that honestly
Merfolk are fun shut up
