Now, that brought back a lot of sweet memories of my sewing for my 4 girls in preparation for Easter and SPRING. Actually I don't remeber all the different patterns I used, but I do remember sewing well into the morning hours because I wanted the dress to be a Surprise for them. I would go to the Local fabric store and buy rements and make beautiful little dresses. Now I wish I had someone to sewfor....maybe someday...Thank_You for y ride down Memory Lane.
Absolutely the best toddler dress pattern with great video tutorial! I added pockets and snaps, was done in no time at all. Since I don't have a serger I used my Singer without any problem, Thank you Donna for your great tutorials!
I made these for my 3 granddaughters when they were growing up over 20 years ago. Now want to make some for my great granddaughter. This is a great refresher for me. Thank you.
So happy you posted this again. I haven't made any clothes for 26 years, but I think I can tackle this adorable jumper for my youngest granddaughter. Can't wait!
Donna, I can’t get enough of your tutorials. You’re an awesome teacher. I’m an old seamstress but fairly new to quilts. I just love all the new pattern. Thank you so much and may God Bless you, Matt and your business.
Enjoyed your video on the little jumper dress immensely. Loved the way you executed the sewing on it, will definitely be making several of these. You teach well and explain perfectly. Thank you soooo much!!!
Thank you for this easy to follow tutorial. I'm an experienced seamstress but am sharing this with my daughter-in-law who is just learning and has a 4 year old daughter. This simple pattern will certainly build her confidence!
Hi Donna, I enjoyed your tutorial of making the little girls dresses. I used to make my son and daughter clothes when they were small. On my Elna computerized serger which I sold once they grew up. It brought back fond memories. I used to make matching sunsuits for my self and my daughter and coveralls with a lining in corduroy for my son when he was a baby. Thanks again.
Hi Donna, I learned how to sew on my mother’s industrial machine. Wish I had kept hers. I moved from south Florida to Ocala Florida. We were down sizing so I didn’t have the extra room. I sewed all my clothes in the 50s and my kids clothes, and wedding dresses too. Then I started quilting in the 80s. I use my feather weight and my old Kenmore. I have made clothes for my grands and great grands, and have taught them to sew.. I loved watching you make the dress.i wish they still taught home economics in school. Thanks for making my interest alive. I love seeing you and hubby working together.
I made my clothes in high school, my wedding dress and veil and sewed my daughters clothes when they were young. Thank you for this tutorial. Enjoyed it. Brought back memories.
Jo Ann Golis .you are naturally talented . I can not make stitch if my life depend on it I can not saw a batten .i Stuart reading at 3 it was enough I read the Pom once and recite from memory , my mother was such Artist would take Fabric and drown on it and make the most beautiful table cloth or sham I frame few of her work if she was invited and she did want the new dress cut and sawing was 2 hours and she has new dress .It was amazing I could not do the ham of my pants
I watch so many of these videos, and still I can't sew properly. I try to make changes, and end up with a top where the shoulders don't meet, and a fine skirt waiting patiently for it. You sound professional to me. I mean, a wedding dress!
With 2 granddaughters, 1 and 5, this is perfect....I'm already thinking of using some "what was I thinking when I bought this quilt fabric" material. Now, if you could just come up with something for my 2 grandsons, ages 7 and 8! lol....thank you so much, Donna.
Donna, I am really enjoying your videos! They show me how simply things go together which empowers me to try things that had seemed a bit daunting. I am trying not to watch too many at a time since I will be disappointed to catch up to your newest ones and not have a supply of them to choose from!! I have watched this one more than once as I made my grandniece (my sister's granddaughter) a very cute jumper! Thanks for all the free patterns and awesome videos. I was disapointed to learn how close I was to your shop in April when we stayed in Grants Pass, but it was before I'd learned of Jordon Fabrics! We are in Portland so the next time we're in Southern Oregon I hope to stop in. Again, thanks so much for the awesome videos and free patterns!
I love this! Started making dresses for my great grand daughter- This pattern is so simple but I can envision it in corduroy, cottons, lace--just about anything! Thank you
I made a couple of 4 year old dresses today. I did raise the armhole a bit. Thank you so much for the pattern. Thank you also for all the quilting videos.
Great tutorial making the dress in such a straight forward way and using the serger to create that lovely neat finish. Would love to make this dress too and shall search for similar and line the top just as you demonstrated. Thanks a bunch!
Thank you for this tutorial. My first attempt was with some knit fabric I had laying around. Wanted to first make sure it would fit my 6 year old little girl. It turned out great so I made another one out of cotton. I did lengthen the bodice pattern for the second jumper.
Thank you for the pattern. I don't have a surger but I made the dress on my sewing machine, just had to finish the seams with zig zag and a little bias tape around the waist seam. It looks beautiful 😍 x
I just made this today in a size one for my very little granddaughter. It came out great, and your instructions were spot on! I don’t have a gathering foot, but I was able to gather easily using my serger. Thank you so much, and keep them coming!
Lovely! Both your demonstration and instructions are so clear and easy to follow. Thank you! I'll be making this dress for my granddaughter this weekend :)
I love to sew and did long time ago when I was a kid.. love to start sewing again and do more nice dresses like that for tiny tots! Thanks for your tutorials!! Really appreciate the simplest way you demonstrate :)
I’m so glad you showed this video on your newsletter! I have 4 granddaughters, ages 4-7, and lots of cute fabric! I might have to get my serger out and relearn how to use it 😂
Great tutorial. I never knew how to use a gathering foot. I was taught to use 2 rows of basting stitch, then pull those threads to gather. This looks so much more uniform, with little effort - Thank you!
Donna I love your tutorials!! I made one of these today for my granddaughter, its easy and turned out so cute. Thank you so much for all your patterns and ideas!
Thank you for this video, I have just a little girl in mind, my grandaughter who lives in Canada. I wished I lived near your shop so many fabrics to choose from and all are fantastic. I would be in there everyday! Your tutorials are clear and understandable so thank you again.
Love it. My sixteen years old grandson (my only one♥️) has now an eighteen month old cutest little sister, we're all getting together this weekend and I'm going to make her this jumper! Thank you Donna for the pattern ♥️
I downloaded this pattern for my granddaughter when she was 2 years old I’ve made her about 6 of them and every year I go up one size I am now making her size 6. Thank you Donna this is the best little girls dress to make.

OMG, Donna, those are the cutest. I was wondering last week if you made your own clothing, I've been watching your tuts for about a year and noticed you don't wear the same outfit twice. I especially like the light blue long flowy dress you've worn. Right now I can't remember if it was floral or geometrics. Thank you and Matt very much for your great tutorials. May God continue to bless you Jo
Brilliant tutorial, I finished my own jumper dress today and it looks adorable. I've done pleated ruffle since I don't have a gathering foot and the basting stitch didn't work on my fabric. It worked just fine. Thank you so much for sharing the pattern and instructions.
