What's make Siti Nurhaliza special is not her high note , but the softness and creaminess of her voice. It's proved that you don't need super extra high note to be on the top level singer. She knows her limit but yet she knows what 's her best ability too. ❤

10:24 The Malays in Malaysia call it "lenggok". "Leggok" implies wavyness, and most cmmonly used to refer to the way female walk, like when they wear tight+long skirts.
In Indonesian it's called cengkok (which translates to Malay as cangkuk) which in normal day-to-day context refers to "hooks" (note the curvy shape of hooks).
As to the name of each ornamentation... well that you have to ask people trained in traditional Malay songs. Not sure if they have a name for each of them.
When we cook, we never use measurement in our recipes... it's all "agak-agak" (educated guess, from experience and immersion). SO i guess it's the same in singing. But hey, IDK.
Another good singer of traditional Malay songs are Jamilah Abu Bakar (she went to Berkeley) and Asmidar (also formally trained) so maybe they could shed a light on this.
About the ornamentation between 8:50 and 10:50, for those who speak the Johor-Riau accent/dialect of Malay, it's very close to the intonation of our oral communication, so i can say that those ornamentation are also part of the Malay vocabulary, but without words, that convey intentions, emotions and state of mind.
Ornamentation #1 is that of pitty state. It is also convey an emphasis. The lyrics there translates to "I'm asking from he who have". The word "Ada" means "have".
Ornamentation #2 is also an emphasis. She's emphasising "I" or "Me". Like, "hey, give your attention here, to me, but pretend that I didn't ask for that because it's a shame to crave for others attention especially yours".
Ornamentation #3 is also an emphasis, but this one is more plain, just an emphasis.

@@ScottLeVocalCoach She divided her show into 4 sessions. She’d performed about 10-15 songs each with different outfits for 4 sessions.
It was truly a solo performance except accompanied by traditional dancers. Each session she sang without any teleprompter and without having even a sip of water…no hiatus in between but straightly singing.
The way she sang…so effortless as if she was simply talking over the microphone. As you can see in the video…she did not show any stress and visible veiny along her neck while singing her high note.
And she sang while dancing some of the traditional songs.
Before the show, I was just like some Malaysians back then, apprehensive of her live performance but that Royal Albert Hall’s show had truly proven that she was and still very good.
Outside the hall, people were simply mesmerised and kept talking how good she was.

I like to watch vocal coach doing an analysis on siti's vocal techniques. I have watch tonnes of videos and your analysis is so depth and easy to understand. I like when you let the song to finish first then you start your analysis. Please react to her live performance seluruh cinta feat chakra khan. Both are amazing singers and i can't wait to see your analysis on both techniques 😊.
