Who the heck could think of givin this a thumbs down?!?! Very nice video glad u were able to film these running. The only thing I had ever heard on the USA steiger was what was in Peters book. That's a great book
+Jake Ziegler this was an awesome find. With only 37 made and some junked and some repainted to green this one is probably one of best examples around. I wish I know why it has gotten a few thumbs down.
I am green man myself but that is one tough looking 45.Glad to see old iron still doing the work. No electronics to fool with. Just crank it up and go.That Panther needs duals in the worse way. Never did like seeing single tires on a bid tractor. Would like to see more of the older machines in future. Thanks
My grandfather used to own that 4568. My profile picture is that tractor in 1994. Right side axle snapped while I was working ground in the Scuffletown river bottoms. I spent many hours in that machine as well as a 4786 that he had.
i am correcting myself. The left side snapped while I was working ground. I spoke with a truck driver at the elevator one day about this tractor and he said the right front axle snapped on the current owner a few years back.
I know Steiger built tractors for Ford as the FW series but had no idea they did them for IH. I don't think we ever had any across here in England in IH colors, only Steiger green and Ford blue/white. Wonderful vid.
Got me thinking now so I checked - it was 1986. So that would be around the time of the new line up when the nose shape changed on the IH 956, 1056 etc. The late Panthers were then built and ended up in Case IH colors and obviously then eventually became the Quadtrac.
I recently stumbled upon this channel because I've been playing a video game called "Farming Simulator 17". I am now very interested in learning about tractors and farming equipment. Great channel btw.. :-)
This Panther came from the factory with a Steiger blade. The original owner used the blade to clean up fence rows on his farm. The blade has not been used since the 70's. It is just a show piece now.
We have some friends from Velma Ok who had a red white n blue steiger up into the mid 80s but I don't know its whereabouts now thought it was pretty cool
Massey Ferguson's 4000 Series & Ford FW Series(FW-20 did not) had Cummins 903 cid V-8.The 4 main White Field Boss 4WDs-4-150,4-175,4-180,4-210 all had Caterpillar 3208 V-8s
Love watching your videos but never seem to find the Case line 94 series 4x4 4994, 4894 them are my dream tractors think you could find some of them to film
+Myron Johnson I am with you. The first tractor I ever took a ride in as a kids was a brand new 2470. I located a 4894 this spring in the area. Hopefully I can line it up to film some time to add a Traction King to the channel.
+caseman D csd a 1977 Case 2470 was the first tractor I ever took a ride in. A Traction King is way up on my filming wish list. I have not located any yet.
This is what Big Tractor Power is all about. . . love it.
+Mike Less thank you. I enjoy watching you channel. Very cool new video you put up on the Versatile 360 on terra tires.

For all of the cool newfangled machines they have out there now, it's neat to see some old-school iron still working on the farm. nice video.

Yes I know the one.
Lord Muck IHC bought out steiger.
Yes but not for a lot of years - when did they actually buy them ?
Wasn't it in the mid-80's ?
No I am not sure , I think it was the 70s .

+Manuel Hernandez thank you for watching. That is neat. Glad you found Big Tractor Power.
Manuel Hernandez Same i love farming sin

That Steiger looks like it's set up to do some silage pushing. Any chance you can get it on film on top of a pile?

Thank you. I was exciting to film.
enjoyed
I never see any j.i. case tractors. j.i. case sold more 4 wheel drives than any other companies in the 70's area.
+caseman D csd a 1977 Case 2470 was the first tractor I ever took a ride in. A Traction King is way up on my filming wish list. I have not located any yet.
bigtractorpower Are there any case 1200's still working out there?

That Steiger sounds like a Detroit - is it not?
No the Panther has an 855 Cummins.
@@bigtractorpower Thanks
