My dad was in the military and when we would go camping we would have MREs as meals and he would make the same joke every time we got the peanut butter or the cheese spread. "Kneed before using? Why would I use it if I didn't need it?"
@emmymadeinjapan I have spent 4 years eating these MREs. A lot of times we don't have time to heat them up. I am a fan of your channel. I think you should do a taste test both cooked and uncooked. it may not sound appealing but this is how we live sometimes in the field.
DeVonte Gray this is probably going to sound weird, but did that make you lean more towards eating your food on the more room temperature side when you got home? my brother was deployed to Afghanistan a few times, and the last time he was back on leave I noticed he tended to eat everything colder than he used to. I never thought to ask him about it though
DeVonte Gray I've found that the more time I spend outdoors (working, camping, hiking, etc.) the more I tend to eat everyday things at room temp. but also the more I enjoy a fancy cooked meal like Thanksgiving or something.
AshIsAWolf actually I've been more eager to eat my food at room temp or cold. Sometimes I would go out and get food like hot wings and I would wait for them to get room temp or put them in the fridge and when they are cold I'd chow down.
I'm glad you listen to my advise on kneading the cheese! Very important to get the awesome of the cheese spread! A trick from 14 years in the Army. With the heater, make sure the water is really into the heating element! Shake the bag lightly to get the water more into the heating element. It will make your bag pipping hot!
Am I the only one who noticed the vanilla pudding called for one sixth of a cup not one sixteenth. It may have been less gritty and less sweet that way.
i just did a fun beef taco mre review video a few days ago. i eat mine in the middle of the forest on a volcano. i try to do my mre videos in the forests or by rivers in the mountains etc. if you into that stuff.
I spent the day watching a slow-motion train wreck called the US Administration. :/ I can't wait for the day when MREs will be obsolete because of PEACE.
Favorite pasta? Keeping it simple I like the noodles with butter, oregano and some sliced garlic. But who doesn't like the tomato sauce type, as well. REALLY look forward to your vids, Em and thanks for making us smile!
Any cheese spread in an MRE is CURRENCY in the field. Trust me on this.... ;) If you can get hold of the Hot Cocoa packet, hang on to it, makes good sweetener for the Cofveve.
I eat a lot of these while camping, and if you're eating it on the go a useful tip my dad taught me that he used to do when he was deployed is that, on the heater, it is a mouthful of water to fill it up. It's is just an easy and sure-fire way of always getting the right amount of water. Love MREs and the shakes in them are always my favorite.
I love you so much Emmy!! You are just so wonderful and adorable! I am so delighted that there is someone like you (a positive and cheerful person) in a world and website where many pessimistic and negative people rest. Please keep making videos, because although I am a recent subscriber, I am starting to run out of your videos to watch. I must say, it has been very heartwarming watching you sort of grow up. Being pregnant, having a baby, and continue doing youtube even though being a mother is already a full-time job. Love you so much and I hope you have a great day :)
I love your videos! It's cool learning from different types of food from diferent places, and as a non-native english speaker, your videos are very useful because you speak quickly but at the same time very clearly, and your voice is so relaxing!
Have you ever tried adding the bread to the heater? Is that allowed? I wonder if that would make it softer. Also I think I would try adding a little instant coffee concentrate to the pudding.
As a Vietnam Veteran, who has consumed countless "C" rations, I have enjoyed all the military MRE videos. Also must give you kudos for using a classic Opinel knife. Thanks Emmy
My mom was a combat field medic in the army and she LOVED the cheese spread lol she liked it so much more than the peanut butter and that’s one story that gets told quite often and it always makes me smile and giggle a little lol I always say “PEAK MIDWESTERN!.” When she does cause with her it’s always cheese before anything hehe 😂
I had this kind and many others at FTX recently but just wanted to say your MRE videos helped me prepare for that weekend, I started Army ROTC one semester late but at least I was prepared for the food😂
Prior service 12 years, seeing these MRE videos brings back some funny memories. We used to experiment and mix and match and trade ingredients. My personal recipe was chili mac MRE with jalapeno cheese and crushed crackers. Cook the chili mac with the heater packet, put the jalapeno cheese packet in there with it to heat up and melt it. When its all done pour the cheese and crushed crackers into the chili mac packet. There was a few other minor ones too. Tabasco sauce on everything, which everyone did haha. I remember there being these dried fruit things squares that you were supposed to add water to. But i would just open them up, take a bite and then take a sip of water. The cocoa packets mixed with some cream, sugar and water in a water bottle always seemed to taste good...but when you're eating MREs for weeks at a time i guess thats normal.
Why am I so immersed in watching these? You have a really calming voice. I got a Chicken breast fillet, seasoned, garlic and herb seasonings MRE (menu 21) yesterday and I'm both uncertain and excited about eating it
when growing up not very rich we had the hunger buster food Pasta so as of today I only have one favorite tomatetoes & bacon pasta one can diced tomatoes 4 cloves of garlic diced one medium onion 1/2 pound of bacon cooked crisp and chopped salt to taste optional one to two jalapenos chopped
Was just binge watching back all your MRE last night. And a new one today!! Still remembered how uncertain you were with your first flameless ration heater XD
Emmy, i love how open minded you are to trying new things. The way i grew up, we had to eat whatever my family could afford. So much different than the way my kids are. However, i try to get them to try new things all the time. I love your hard times videos especially. Some of them remind me of things that i had growing up. The M.R.E. videos as well because my dad spent almost 30 years in the U.S. military and he would bring M.R.Es home often and we would eat them. I have fond memories of eating M.R.Es growing up and many i remember liking.
Cavemen may have discovered fire, but you make MRE seem truly gourmet. Emmy, you keep us entertained and in good humor! From your fans at Royal Entertainment America
I love your videos! Never stop! I watched your channel way back in 2012 and I just rediscovered your channel and I'm glad to see you are still making videos!
just found your channle about two weeks ago. Just wanted to let you know that I love your videos and you're optimistic positive attitude always makes my day better.
Emmy, I love that you use an Opinel knife. I have been an Opinel fan for many years. Your videos are always interesting and your MRE reviews are so descriptive in terms of taste and texture! Have fun, stay safe. Cheers.
You REALLY have to work at the cheese spread (peanut butter sometimes too just for GP) to get it to be reincorporated (as my Dad always said). Any time I have had the cheese or peanut butter I worked at it for a WHILE. Worth the extra time because it reincorporates well. Kinda like nacho cheese.
Well that's one way to open an Opinel. I had to pause and rewatch to see what you did exactly. My first thought was Why? what's wrong with the nail nick? I stopped and thought Oh Yea! Manicure. You are the most actively pleasant person on RUclips and getting a new video from you is a welcome break in my day. :) Thanks!
HI EMMY! i know i havent been commenting on your channel and im kinda a 'silent viewer' but im just here to say i love loveeee your videos since japan-webcam-days to marriage to pregnant days to your break on yt days. im still here with your improved and fancy setup and all! and im happy you didnt change--you're still the nice, soothing voice, woman with the red laced/stringed necklace that you got (oh no i forgot but i think someone from your family? maybe grandma? sorry im not rewatching ur vids im just commenting what i remember), 'crazy' haired, emmy!! love you! ❤️ oh and btw, i was so happy when you tried my country before lol, the philippines!

Everyday Table Shakers Salt & Pepper Set Golden Home Ultra-Thin Pizza Crust, 4.75 oz. Hawaiian Punch Fruit Juicy Red Singles to Go, 8 ct. Hunt’s Snack Pack Single Serving Tapioca Pudding Cups, 4 ct. They sell this variety at our commissary. I eat MREs occasionally for no particular reason but I haven't gotten around to this one yet. The vegetarian version is not bad.
I woupd also suggest putting any of the cheese spreads in the heater and letting it get all gooey then adding it to the bread. Ir if you have the ravioli MRE add inside of that meal. Mix your foods.
My favourite pasta is Catelli gluten free spirals with Amy's pea soup and some Becel olive oil margarine. About the only place I like any kind of butter.
cool review. i have had this meal. it is pretty good. i just did a mre review video a few days ago on beef tacos. i ate it in the middle of a forest on a volcano. i do all my mre videos in the mountains deep in the forest. keep up the good work
I'm 3 years late but maybe this tip will help someone who may come up late like me. If you save the silicate packets (out of reach of children) I use them in a ziplock bag with my razors to take the moisture out of the blades and they last 3 times longer and stay sharp. I also put them in my jars with the seeds I harvest from my vegetable garden or veggies I buy from the store that start with seed to store until I rehydrate and plant them. I haven't bought seeds in years with this method.
Just discovered your channel yesterday. Yee-haw :) You have a very calming way of speaking which I love. I know you've probably been asked this question so many times before, but how do you get a hold of your MREs (if people don't send them to you)?
Hey emmy...i am on a marathon of watching ur vids and i just saw the vid where you bought 3 burgers and got free frorks at te macdonalds. U just took a few bites of the burger and i wondered is you still eat them after the vid or if you throw them away. Btw i love ur channel especially the kitkat flavor taste tests!!!
I just found your channel while watching Steve1989MREinfo and both of you are great. I can fall asleep to both of your voices talking about MRE's. What is the lot number from this MRE?
My dad was in the military and when we would go camping we would have MREs as meals and he would make the same joke every time we got the peanut butter or the cheese spread. "Kneed before using? Why would I use it if I didn't need it?"
Dad Jokes - Sometimes the Best, sometimes the Worst...
i love it
I don't get it.. lol
@@nkaugsee kneed means mixing but it sounds like need
Squidny I don't have a dad😔
@emmymadeinjapan I have spent 4 years eating these MREs. A lot of times we don't have time to heat them up. I am a fan of your channel. I think you should do a taste test both cooked and uncooked. it may not sound appealing but this is how we live sometimes in the field.

I never thought to ask him about it though
DeVonte Gray I've found that the more time I spend outdoors (working, camping, hiking, etc.) the more I tend to eat everyday things at room temp. but also the more I enjoy a fancy cooked meal like Thanksgiving or something.
Some MREs taste better uncooked!
AshIsAWolf actually I've been more eager to eat my food at room temp or cold. Sometimes I would go out and get food like hot wings and I would wait for them to get room temp or put them in the fridge and when they are cold I'd chow down.
Mark Poole I agree with you 100% . it really makes you appreciate a home cooked meal if you live off of these. Or if you spend time out in the field.
Your so welcome!😁

Yes over the years we learn the different tricks for better mre
Thank you for your service 💓
Am I the only one who noticed the vanilla pudding called for one sixth of a cup not one sixteenth. It may have been less gritty and less sweet that way.
fin78 it called for 4 oz of water, which is a half a cup. if it had any more water added, it would have been too runny and not a pudding consistency.
It said 4 oz and yes that's 1/2 cup but I see where she got confused as it says thats about 1/6th of a canteen cup.
Elaine Streck if the lumps would have dissolved it would be fine
1/16th of a canteen cup. Those cups are big (2.5 cups).
Yeah, the instructions definitely said 1/6 of a canteen cup, not 1/16. I wonder how the pudding would have turned out with the right amount of water.
I live for your MRE videos
Sare Bear i agree.
i just did a fun beef taco mre review video a few days ago. i eat mine in the middle of the forest on a volcano. i try to do my mre videos in the forests or by rivers in the mountains etc. if you into that stuff.
Sare Bear o just did the same one
I live for her adorable lisp
Lol you can get some and try em! They aren’t that bad
We spent the morning yard sale-ing and the afternoon planting in the garden -- SO happy. You?
emmymadeinjapan the MRE Queen..#ilovethis
Binge watching your videos SO happy too!
I spent the day watching a slow-motion train wreck called the US Administration. :/ I can't wait for the day when MREs will be obsolete because of PEACE.
hey emmymadeinjapan by any way wher you in the military?
Finished serving some rich chicken soup to the whole family. I didn't burn my tongue for once, so I'm super happy!
Favorite pasta? Keeping it simple I like the noodles with butter, oregano and some sliced garlic. But who doesn't like the tomato sauce type, as well. REALLY look forward to your vids, Em and thanks for making us smile!
I gotta say, I absolutely love these videos! They're so calming to watch.

Emmy, your MRE taste tests are some of my favorite of your video, along with the Tastes of "Country/State".
Let's get this out on a tray.......
My favorite pasta dish is lasagna.
haha Emmy is the only other MRE taste testers I can watch here on youtube, along with Steve haha
Have you ever thought to heat the bread up in the flame less heater? That usually helps soften dense bread and make it more palatable (:
I love you so much Emmy!! You are just so wonderful and adorable! Cutest thing I've ever read! ^-^ ♡♡♡
well i think Emmy deserves to know how much she is appreciated! :)
My pasta goal is to befriend someone who enjoys making homemade ravioli and sends over Tupperware bowls full just because.
Jan CW - I can make pumpkin ravioli :)
Sounds delish :)
Jan CW I'll bring you some chef boyardee ;)
I'm guessing this isn't Lidia Bastianich?
Seeing your videos pop up on my feed puts a smile on my face🙂
I love your videos! It's cool learning from different types of food from diferent places, and as a non-native english speaker, your videos are very useful because you speak quickly but at the same time very clearly, and your voice is so relaxing!

illfayted that all sounds good
that's what I was going to suggest too... I've seen a few of the mre tasters doing it :)
As a Vietnam Veteran, who has consumed countless "C" rations, I have enjoyed all the military MRE videos. Also must give you kudos for using a classic Opinel knife. Thanks Emmy

You should be a professional taste tester for like Gordon Ramsey or something.
Ken much nicer though
IKR!!
It would be a complaint video. So nah
Why am I so immersed in watching these? You have a really calming voice. I got a Chicken breast fillet, seasoned, garlic and herb seasonings MRE (menu 21) yesterday and I'm both uncertain and excited about eating it
I love your videos Emmy, but I also come for the endings! they're always so hilarious! especially this one😂😂
Your MRE tasting videos were the first videos I saw of yours way back in the day. Always love when you do another one of them
when growing up not very rich we had the hunger buster food Pasta so as of today I only have one favorite tomatetoes & bacon pasta one can diced tomatoes 4 cloves of garlic diced one medium onion 1/2 pound of bacon cooked crisp and chopped salt to taste optional one to two jalapenos chopped

Hahahaha the auto captions picked up you shaking the bag
as (applause!) so funny! :)
You didn't add chili powder. I am shocked :D
LOL SAME #Shook
Pesto is plenty flavourful on its own, I can't imagine adding chili powder would do it many favours.
Cenk Korkmaz I was expecting that too!
Me too!
I can't believe it not hot stuff! Well save them up for a 24 hour ration .
omg i love your videos and i cant wait till you hit 1 mil🙌🙌😘
🙌

I love your videos! Never stop! I watched your channel way back in 2012 and I just rediscovered your channel and I'm glad to see you are still making videos!
I’ve been watching your videos every night for about a week and your voice is so soothing it puts me to sleep so thank you!💕
I can't wait for you to hit 1 millions subscribers! I consider you an OG youtuber and have been watching you forever! You deserve it!
These are so satisfying to watch for some reason
Yay! These videos are my favorite, especially by you!! 💖
i love love LOVE your MRE videos! ive been binge watching all of them! please continue to make them!! 💜💜
I blame you for my obsession with MRE videos. I'm subscribed to Gun Dog and a couple others. LOL
@emmymadeinjapan:
We're gonna' have to teach you how to light matches one-handed. That's the Military Way! *_:D_*
just found your channle about two weeks ago. Just wanted to let you know that I love your videos and you're optimistic positive attitude always makes my day better.
these are my favorite videos of yours I just love how you review them and I like to see what military gets to eat it's really interesting!
Emmy, I love that you use an Opinel knife. I have been an Opinel fan for many years. Your videos are always interesting and your MRE reviews are so descriptive in terms of taste and texture! Have fun, stay safe. Cheers.
OMG I swear I was thinking yesterday that I've missed your MRE taste-test videos. I'm hooked, girl. 🌸
Her excitement is so adorable
Next time you have an MRE with instant coffee and vanilla pudding: Can you add the two together then add water to make Vanilla Coffee pudding?
i love your videos so much! your voice is really calming and i think youre super entertaining. ♡

i love these videos ive watched like all of them in 3 days before i go to bed 😅
My son is a Marine. He brought this one home so we could try it together. It wasn't bad at all. Love your channel ❤️
:) Thanks!
these mre tastings are my favourite videos of yours
HI EMMY! i know i havent been commenting on your channel and im kinda a 'silent viewer' but im just here to say i love loveeee your videos since japan-webcam-days to marriage to pregnant days to your break on yt days.
im still here with your improved and fancy setup and all! and im happy you didnt change--you're still the nice, soothing voice, woman with the red laced/stringed necklace that you got (oh no i forgot but i think someone from your family? maybe grandma? sorry im not rewatching ur vids im just commenting what i remember), 'crazy' haired, emmy!! love you! ❤️
oh and btw, i was so happy when you tried my country before lol, the philippines!
Do you not want people send you food anymore? I noticed those types of videos are few and far between these days. Love and watch every video!!!
Your mre videos are my favorite. Didn't even know what they were until you did your first video
literally just watching your videos and doing homework, such a great combination
On the instant coffee tubes, there's a tiny notch on the side at one end. Usually they say "tear here" in tiny hard-to-see print.
I got a few MREs a few months ago and this entree was one of them. It was my favourite of the bunch I tried. Instead of the wheat snack bread, I actually got some italian sticks.
YES I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
I love your MRE videos!
It is very satisfying to watch you eat mres
This past 4th of July my family and I went camping and while in the town I picked up this MRE. My husband's uncle was in the service and said that the cheese packets were like gold! They traded then for everything. And one cheese packet could get a guy 5 packs of cigarettes!
Here's the Dollar Tree version. The entree is made with the pasta salad mix, the canned chicken and the Italian dressing:
Assured Antibacterial Wet Wipes, 3 ct.
Betty Crocker Classic Suddenly Salad Mix, 3.9 oz.
Brown Plastic Utensils, 48 ct.
Crider Premium White Chicken, 5 oz.
Diamond Strike-on-Box Matches, 10 ct.
Domino Granulated Sugar, 1 lb.
Everyday Table Shakers Salt & Pepper Set
Golden Home Ultra-Thin Pizza Crust, 4.75 oz.
Hawaiian Punch Fruit Juicy Red Singles to Go, 8 ct.
Hunt’s Snack Pack Single Serving Tapioca Pudding Cups, 4 ct.
Island Choice Yellow Cling Diced Peach Cups, 3 ct.
Kleenex to Go Packs, 3 ct.
Kraft Zesty Italian Dressing, 8 oz.
Nestle Coffee Mate Powdered Coffee Creamer, 6 oz.
Nestle Taster’s Choice House Blend Coffee Packets, 6 ct.
Supreme Tradition Chili Powder, 3 oz.
Velveeta Cheese Sauce Packet
Wrigley’s Big Red Gum, 4 ct.
This is literally the best thing on the internet. Thank you Emmy :)
Mix shredded rotisserie chicken with bow tie pasta and fresh basil/pine nut pesto..... top with a few toasted pine nuts.... yum!
Reminds me of the pudding you used to have to put in a cup and shake back in the 80s. Brought back memories
They sell this variety at our commissary. I eat MREs occasionally for no particular reason but I haven't gotten around to this one yet. The vegetarian version is not bad.
I liked being able to see the meal and the drink in this one!
I love that you misread 1/6 as 1/16, but then mostly made up for it by dividing your canteen cup wrong into 1/8's. XD
I woupd also suggest putting any of the cheese spreads in the heater and letting it get all gooey then adding it to the bread. Ir if you have the ravioli MRE add inside of that meal. Mix your foods.
Yee-haw!
I love your ration reviews because I can actually see you eating it. But Gundog has the cool stories to go along with his.
I've currently been watching all your videos newest to oldest and loving it! Just reached around the 215th video xD
These mre videos are ✨everything✨
My favourite pasta is Catelli gluten free spirals with Amy's pea soup and some Becel olive oil margarine. About the only place I like any kind of butter.
cool review. i have had this meal. it is pretty good. i just did a mre review video a few days ago on beef tacos. i ate it in the middle of a forest on a volcano. i do all my mre videos in the mountains deep in the forest. keep up the good work
I'm 3 years late but maybe this tip will help someone who may come up late like me. You look especially vibrant in this video, and your hair looks really nice like this 🤗
Yee-haw. Another MRE bites the dust! Thanks for the very entertaining, very informative video!
Just discovered your channel yesterday. Yee-haw :) You have a very calming way of speaking which I love. I know you've probably been asked this question so many times before, but how do you get a hold of your MREs (if people don't send them to you)?
Add A Little Salt To The Flameless Ration Heater It Helps It To Heat Better
Your outros are the best. Pretty hilarious to me
Hmmm, favorite pasta dish? Something with spaghetti sauce that has lots of spices!
Thank you for another great MRE tasting Emmy!
Nice one. Love yours and other MRE reviewers vids of MRE.
We use to put our MREs in the radiator shield on my lmtv drive a few hours and presto hot meal!!
I love the mre videos you make plz make more mre videos keep up the good work
Emmy you're positively glowing in this video!
I like that you test the matches...not sure why but I do
Your awesome, love your videos! You inspire my 6 year old boy and I to try doing some of these together! Keep up the great work.
Thanks.... now I know what to expect when I open mine. Do you know the shelf life on MRE's?
Spent the day shopping and eating hehe. Long time sub, first time commenting ! Love ur videos~
i LIVE for these videos!
I absolutely LOVE watching your videos...
Djamal Nanhekhan wonder the same too 🤔
My two favorite pasta dishes are aglio e olio and linguine vongole. 😊 Yee-haw!
Today's just that one day when I wanna watch Emmy :) Thanks for making this day much better :)
I got the same exact one except it came with cherry blueberry cobbler which was amazing
I just found your channel while watching Steve1989MREinfo and both of you are great. I can fall asleep to both of your voices talking about MRE's. What is the lot number from this MRE?
Radiance oozing from that thumbnail
Your MRE videos are so relaxing to watch. Also, yee-haw!
Emmy, are you growing your hair out?
Another outstanding review, Emmy! No to be too personal... I'm curious about your necklace. What is at the end of the red string?
