    Great tutorial. I really like that you started with a row of single crochet before you did the stitch pattern. Gives a nice finish.

    I watch many RUclips videos to learn crochet patterns but yours are my all-time favorite! I have made slant shells blankets with 2 dc or 3 dc shells but this pattern of yours with the 4 dc shells is the best. It makes a nice full blanket. I bought the yarn to make this blanket and can't wait to finish it. You have also inspired me to make the chevron design blankets in pink and gray and blue and gray as well as the other colors you use. Your videos are great because you explain everything in an easy to understand way and your voice is easy to listen to. Thanks for all the help.

    Thank you I love this blanket already & your instructions are excellent. Some patterns call for chain 3 but that extra stitch I felt it was too loose & this one solves that problem yay 😁 I can’t wait to get started I just have to finish the one I’m working on just the border to go which I got the idea from mosaic crochet doing a double border & you tie off your ends & hide not sew them between the two front & back borders & securing them with a slip stitch all the way around looks really neat again thank you 🙏😊💕

    Looking for a pattern I haven't crocheted yet, I saw this & gave it a try. I wasn't happy with how it was laying. It was a little jumbled up. So I omitted the last DC in the slanted shell. It lays much better for me that way. I tend to crochet loose so this works for me.

      To weave in your ends you will leave a long tail. You will take your tapestry needle and go in between the stitches until your tail is secure (I suggest 3 different directions). Once you feel it’s secure, you can cut the rest of the tail off. Hope that helps!

    Looks beautiful! How many chain links to start for a 35in wide blanket? I’ve already purchased Caron simply soft yarn, will this suffice? I have an H 5mm hook, will I get a similar textured result?

    • @AmandaCrochets
      @AmandaCrochets  4 года назад +1

      Yes, you can use Caron Simply Soft for this pattern. You will probably get the same texture, but you can always make a swatch to see how you like it. Because you'll be using a smaller crochet hook, you will have to play around with the number of starting chains. Maybe try 137 chains and see how that looks.

    • @xtinae2402
      @xtinae2402 4 года назад

      If I purchased the larger crochet hook you recommend (J6), how many chain links would you suggest for 35in wide baby blanket. I love the look of your pattern and I imagine it will look fuller w/a larger hook

    • @xtinae2402
      @xtinae2402 4 года назад

      Amanda I purchased the J6 crochet hook. I appreciate your help and hope I’m not asking too many questions. How many chains w/this size hook for 35in wide? So what is “worsted” yarn? How is it different from regular acrylic? I would love to share a photo of my granny stitch blanket but I don’t know how to attach a photo. It turned out very nice. I also found a video to help w/tension and it was a game changer. Thanks for posting the video on hiding tails. Very helpful!!!
