It's insane how her singing still resonates in Twilight Princess' fields during the night
She at least in spirit is singing for her decendant (Yes I subscribe to the Malon x OOT Link theory)
@Goku Black I think most people agree with Link x Malon lol
@@MatrixEvolution17 Isn't it even canon?
@@Malphaxx to be honest I'm sure Nintendo won't never answer that. Not at least without letting a few flaws over the plot. But many agree mostly because Link lives on a ranch.
Besides the hero of Time options were a Kokiri girl who race never appeared again without turning into Koroks. And it's never mentioned that Ruto married a hylian in the Child Timeline, nor in Zelda's case.
It only makes sense
I'm not gonna lie I had a huge crush on Malon as a kid that I kinda projected onto Link. I would pretend that she was Link's girlfriend and I would go back to visit her at the ranch after every dungeon.
Couldn't relate more
That is the most wholesome and pure thing I have heard in my life
Bless you stranger
Omg i did the same. I had a crush on link as a kid and i always pretended he was with malon. I wish she appeared in other games
Same bro same…
lol same
Talon: How'd you like to marry Malon? Huh?
Link: Yes.
I clicked that one to see what would happen hahaha
@@Judith_Vega and what happens?
@@alfredolibreros6106
Talon laughs and say: *i was just kidding, You are a bit too young to think about marrying*
It'd be a cute ship and if it was official it would be better.
@@katedp7825 it is official. How you think Twilight Princess link came into existence.
Not only that but the Hero's Shade is Link from OoT.
HS is also task with trying the next decedent of Link.
As someone who grew up playing Twilight Princess, seeing anything Ocarina of Time related is like unearthing a photo album or an old family camera.
Lol
That's a thought provoking comment. I've never played twilight princess so I'm kinda the opposite.
@@joyoustye2326 it’s a pretty good game I’d recommend giving it a try sometime.
If Link did marry Malon in the Child Timeline, that explains why Link from Twilight Princess works on a Ranch, and he already had Epona to start with.
Wow I was not expecting this many likes and replies. Quite impressive.
I agree that they got married, but Epona from TP is not the same Epona from OOT/MM since they are 100 years apart.
@@Luxurious13 easily could be a reincarnation most of the Zelda characters revolve around reincarnation so why not Epona? Lol
@@Luxurious13 they're a ranch, breeding horses is what they do. Epona definitely has a bloodline
She was always a sweet girl, no wonder Link fell for her, also he didn't had that many options on where to go, since he's not a kokiri, and none of the stuff on the future happened after ganon was sealed
Yes but I'm pretty sure all the links aren't actually blood related but are just reincarnations of the original link.
Its so cheesy but when I visited Lon Lon Ranch, as a kid, I was captivated.
*Man can she sing*
Yeah, i remember standing in the corner of the rance just enjoying her singing.
my head canon is that she married the hero of time and hero of twlight is their descendant since he's a famer
To add to that the hero of twilight knows the song by heart as he's able to play it on the grass flutes perhaps it was passed down
@@deadly_shepard4730 well, link from Twilight Princess knows even the song of healing from majora
@@agustinquiroga9541 I think the howling stone had more to do with that also the hero's shade
Omg and that she sings at night hoping to reunite with her beloved (hero’s shade)
It's actually canon according to the Hyrule Historia that Malon and OoT Link got together and TP Link is their child and OoT Link eventually passed on and became the Hero's Shade.
It may not be the song of healing, but it did restore my heart. Much appreciated 🐴
This song has so much love in it
@LanEXHikari I really admire your comment.
The song of healing can trap you're soul and memories into a mask soooooo you know the drill 😂
I can concord with lanex
One of the reasons why Lon Lon will always be my favorite ranch in the Zelda series.
your so right, a ranch without Malon is not the same
Hopefully it's restored in botw 2 with maybe malon's descendant. But if malon married the hero of time then that means that the malon that would supposedly appear in botw 2 would be somewhat related to link in botw.
I have to agree Sparx.
Sorry to break it to ya but it seems botw 2 will take place not long after botw 1. Sad yeah i know they should've made it so it took place like 5 years after botw 1 so we could have more diversity with the map but nah Nintendo ain't gonna do that for us. They just wanna focus on the story and gameplay.
Romani Ranch it's cool too.
I didn't even realise this, but it's wholesome to see her sing again like she did when she was a kid.
Talon in background " Malon !!!! It's 2 a.m, stop singing and let everyone sleep !!! "
Ela só canta quando ele morreu
He doesn't die wtf
U don’t stop the voice of thousands of childhood memories 🥺
I remember back when I first played this game as a kid, when I first discovered Malon singing out alone at night when her ranch was under the control of Ingo... I was so sad and sorry for her... and then when I saw that she still sang after the ranch was given back to Talon, I was surprised but happy for her.
Man, this is the kind of game that has a magic which rarely happens and I'm privileged to have been touched by it in the window of time that it was released in. A work of art and a masterpiece in storytelling and gameplay.
Honestly as much as I like BOTW and TOTK, I just don’t think they have the same kind of personal, special storytelling that the N64 Zelda games had.
Maybe it’s nostalgia talking, but who knows.
I’m very glad I got recommended this.
me too.

It still amazes me that this game fit on a 30mb cartridge back in the day.
they are wizards
Now imagine if this game was released in CD format, it would have a lot more content, better yet imagine if the n64 was a CD based console, all the games that n64 already has would have a lot more content and the 1st and 3rd party support that nintendo lost in the n64 era would still be on the nintendo side, and i think the Playstation 1 would definitely not have the same success, i think the n64 would have won on that generation, maybe the playstation that we know today would not be same and nintendo would have a different vision on video games that it has today and nintendo would still be the most successfull video game company, at least is what i think.
@@MrPrimoPT Now imagine if the CDI games were made in N64 ruclips.net/video/YfJPE6hkAZE/видео.html
30mb?! This video alone is probably 60mb
I love the little short stops as she switch notes, it's pretty damn realistic. And the vibrado really hits different.
Never really understood why this moment in the game connected me so fully and powerfully to something I can’t explain, it feels like I remembered something I had mourned forgetting.
That’s very lovely
I can also feel it, I don't know if it is from a memory of a dream or maybe a past life but I miss it
I like how everyone around the internet accepts this as Malon singing when it sounds nothing at all like a human being singing.
True, but this was sort of zeldas first 3d open world game. Cant really help the shitty but nostalgic quality
ITS REAL TO MEEE 😭😭😭🤣
It’s not like it would’ve been fully voiced on the Nintendo 64. It mimics human singing more than it does an instrument
actually I can sing like Malon in my head
man, you say its not human but the attention to detail in how every note is designed is actually insane. the timing isnt perfect and the notes kinda slide to and from eachother like a real voice does. the kind of swung timing its programmed in was intentional im pretty sure. koji wanted to show that malon is still very young and inexperienced at singing. especially the part at 0:34. that shit doesn't line up with a metronome at all. she sings slow, rushes and slows at all sorts of choppy timings, realizes she's behind, and catches back up by rushing to the low note. exactly how an untrained person without accompaniment would struggle with keeping time. fucking crazy attention to detail it never ceases to blow my mind
No wonder why Link married Malon. So cute and humble!
Is this canon?
@@inafridge8573 Its not confirmed by Nintendo, but it makes a lot of logical sense.
True, and it is implied they married as we see the farm village at the start of Twilight Princess.
I would marry Malon, she a rough farm girl, loves her cows and horses. Would probably use a pitchfork or train herself using a spear
@@xenaioaks5363 In Links case she seemed to be the only one who had feelings for Link for who he is and not because he was the hero (like the rest of the girls)
I'm not excatly sure about the lore but it feels like Malon, at first made that song for Epona (Hence Epona's song) but after OOT Link Died in battle, Malon now sings it as Epona and Link's song. When she died of old age, her spirit continues singing it into the Twilight era still calling out to him (OOT Link) which we can still hear it. OOT Link had it the worst then any of his decendants and predecessors. His actions also cause a wide spread of paradoxes (though not for malicious means)
This game is so small and infinite at the same time . Every small detail of it is so filled with personality and even today just listening to this fills me with emotions
I say the same thing!
I'm not a big Zelda fan, but something about both N64 games is just so appealing to me, I think it's mostly the atmosphere
When you've heard a young woman sing in a field alone, something hits different.
Was it Love? Maybe
Was it insane? Totally
Do I remember it to this day? Yes
I never did confront that woman such confidence shadowed me...
*Yes this is a real story*
This Zelda game was for me my first encounter with the Hero archetype. The fact that Link was only the vessel for the player to explore and travel this world was so formidable. It gaves you memories that will last you for a lifetime. Her singing in the ranch is unforgettable as most of the songs in this game.
I always loved the way Malons voice sounded as a kid. I'd sometimes drift off to sleep imagining myself sitting on a fence in lon lon ranch, just listening to her sing. That tune was special to me. But i always imagined it in a little more... definition, I guess would be the right word?
With today's hardware, a well polished game can sound like a masterpiece, but something about the more primitive in-game sfx left just enough to the imagination for you to come up with your own interpretation of what malon would sound like.
Did anyone else get this same feeling as a child?
Une. The only and first person to post a video of Malon singing without sfxs.
This game was done in 98... Not many games get this close to perfection... I don't think they even try nowadays
Lon Lon Ranch and her voice combined makes it more soothing. It feels like home.
I don't know why this gives me nostalgia for a game I wasn't even alive for, but it really does.
Ngl if I heard this outside my house at night I'm making sure my doors are locked. It's kinda creepy without the music.
Honestly kinda sad hearing this when you first become an adult in the game, Malon is sad that Ingo took over the ranch, her dad was kicked out and there's nothing she can do. Her only peace is to sing alone at night
She also still has the innocence of a child. She said "Mr ingo became nice again!" As if she wasn't aware that he's always been a dickhead.
Ocarina of time is so interesting. Every named woman in the game is who someone ships with Link.
Zelda is about link's harems
Imagine if someone was singing this in the streets at night 😳
I would fall in love
And you were the only one there
@@Dracheplayz well maybe
And literally no one else was in the town
Not gonna lie, I did this when my mom was in the hospital at one point. I was upset and we didn’t know when she would come home. This song often brought me comfort. So without realizing how creepy it was for an 8 to stand in her backyard, singing this song during a full moon I sang it as I admired the night.
Surprisingly, I felt so much better after singing that song. Occasionally I hum it when my mind troubles me a bit too much or whenever it pops up in there. This song will always be one of my favorites.
I'm only 18 years old but this feels so nostalgic and got me back when I was a kid
I didnt even notice this until now but the stable theme from botw/totk is based on her singing!
The red head always seems to be the optimal choice with Link's incarnations. Yes that includes Groose.
And Mipha IS red
Had no idea this was Malon actually singing.
C'est vraiment une chanson magnifique.
Legend of Vocaloid
I used to like playing the harmony of Malon's melody with link's ocarina. It wouldn't sound great but it was kind of cool
I remember as a kid playing OOT and MM and wanting desperately to open what I called as a kid a “Milk Business” now at 31 I understand why it got laughs😂
She has the voice of an angel
If I had one wish is to go back in time so I can listen to the melody with my younger self
Believe it or not instead of a horse coming this song summoned my cat
This is beatful....
100% volume, this is my 10th pair of headphones now, worth it
I use to humble this when things got boring
As a kid I wished that Malon became a sage, also wanted that she and Link become a couple xD
i always felt bad that saria turned into a sage because she didn't seem to accept it, but i agree with Malon and Link being together
I always loved her. Still I think Link would be more pretty couple with malon than with zelda
Wie oft ich einfach Nachts auf den Hof bin um ihr zuzuhören. Bissl dabei geritten. War schon toll. Für mich immer noch das beste Zelda und danach kommt Wind Waker.
I just recently started playing oot, this (and a few others) is one of my favorite songs from this game
Crazy how this was in my recommended after I revisited OoT yesterday to 100% it. Coincidence?
I think not!!
it is a work of art with sound and audio in this game . never get audio like in any more in moden gamimg maybe in indie game .
I had to do a double take to realize that this video is no older than a year.. oot content like this is rare to see..
何だろうか、この歌を聴くと切なくなる。作品に対する懐古心によるものか、時のオカリナの時代から数百年数万年と本編が進んでいって儚く感じるからなのか。

i keep coming back to this. too calming man
Beautiful and heartwarming
That's what i miss in most games
Never played the game, just thought that was background music. Neat.
Play the game. You won't regret it I swear.
Was playing tears of the kingdom and link hummed the first notes while cooking
The first three notes sound exactly like "Wave" from Tom Jobim
thanks, i'll never be able to unhear that xD
When I was younger I’d go to Lon Lon Ranch while she was singing and play the ocarina with her and ride Epona around the ranch. Good times
Legend of Zelda nostalgia making me feel like I've got a stable and calm life again, if only for a brief moment
I’ve never rushed so fast to a RUclips video.
Just heard this sing or just a bit of it from BOTW. Really made me feel nostalgic!
I play botw a lot, and when I played oot for the first time, Malon singing surprised me. I think they used the melody for the stables.
That is the call of many childhood memories 🥺
You know you're feeling contented when...
♪ _Ooooooooo~_
Lon lon ranch has always been a sanctuary to me. At night i was too 🐱 to fight the stal children and this was before knowing the sun song even existed.
In twilight princess singing malon too she is a ghost and she waiting link and she is dead....and link is dead but malons ghost singing start an hyrule castel in the night
Botw and Totk: spend hours telling us how great wife material zelda is after sacrificing so much
Fans: still simp for Malon, Midna, literally every other Zelda and, above them all, Ganondorf.
Does anybody know where the singing voice of Malon originally came from? did they record a note from a singer or from what sound library is it from?
@@Queenskii004 i'm still looking for it, but if it were a sample library we would hear it in other media, and for a sound that is as well know as it i would assume that somebody would have found it already
They reuse the Malon singing vocal in a number of Zelda songs. They reused it as Lulu’s singing voice in Majora’s Mask (you may remember hearing some of it in the end credits on the game), Ikana Valley, Hyrule Field at night in TP, and in Minish Village in The Minish Cap.
Marlon’s voice is an instrument of its own. I actually wonder where the sample came from…
@@allen_the_king40848 after not finding it anywhere i am almost sure it is the voice of some random Nintendo employee
@@officialmusictracks Apparently a voice actor named Jun Misuzuwa voiced a lot of the female characters in Zelda, including Malon’s… maybe this is a recording of her voice?
i know nothing abt sound effects and voice acting stuff but to me it honestly sounds like they mixed together someone actually singing with a synthetic sound, which maybe is y it has a very unique comforting and real feel
Imagine a dialogue between Malon (child), Malon (adult), Romani and Cremia
Suena bastante relajante, no os voy a mentir (además de que estoy escuchando ésto a las 3 y 20 de la mañana), aunque no me haría mucha gracia oír éste canto fuera de mi casa a está hora. Grande Nintendo, faltan más como tu.
Please can you upload the version of lon lon ranch without song by malon (you have to talk to him and it sounds instrumental) the other version with bug and sfx

It's beautiful
Talon: Malon i love you honey....BUT 3 AM?!

This just popped up in my video feed... Odd cuz when I was little I loved how she sings and felt comfort from it
Just imagine, coming to a farm at the middle of the night and hearing a woman sing😮
The very dream girl I've always wanted.
Man it’s kind of bitter sweet finding out that Link married Malon. Like all that time spent fighting for the kingdom with Zelda, and he was never able to get that time back with her
Ik this video is 2 years by the time I'm sending this comment but this is still beautiful
I prefer it alongside the background strings
This is great, but imagine if it were in the Ben Drowned footage video...
I don’t think it would make sense considering that this is in Ocarina of Time and Ben Drowned is in Majora’s Mask
