    Tony, you are right, the industry does NOT need to lose a fine cobbler. The picture of the entire street shut down speaks to the lunacy of government solutions. How about do one half, then do the other half? I suppose they never thought of that. Total disregard for the business owner, "we are government" attitude. Thank you for getting his story out to everyone. That was a stand up solid move and this is why subscribers love you man. Mamma always told me smiles are free and people like them. She also said people will know you by your deeds. Amen.

    Ron is the cobbler I use for most of my stuff. He's incredible. I can't recommend him enough. Tony actually recommended him to me right when he started his business. Great respect for the both of these gentlemen 🙂.
    Edit: I'm pretty sure I'm the guy Tony is talking about. 🤪

    That’s great to see good cobblers work. A funny. Sidenote I worked as a parts manager at a body shop and they would throw around an insult to a body man that was turning out shotty work. They would call them a cobbler. I don’t think that’s a fair to your trade, you’re definitely craftsman. Anyway, life isn’t fair sometimes keep up the good work And keeping the tradition alive.

    he did awesome work! I love that you brought him on the show and it will help keep him open. I can't imagine how defeating it would be to have the government just kill my business and not having any recourse. they need to open traffic or at least give out financial assistance to these guys they are killing. I'll check out his site and see how much I can help!

    actually, why the moc toe(in the video) can't use logger heel?

    • @WyattDadCobblerCompany
      @WyattDadCobblerCompany  Год назад +3

      It can be converted to a logger style boot. We do them all the time. We even published our last 2 videos of converting a moc toe to a logger style sole. The other job was done with a unit sole that was designed for a different lasted shaped boot, and things were not done to prepare the boot for that shape heel. It’s better to use a sole that comes with a separate heel so it can be shaped to match the lasting of the moc toe.

    Hey Tony - Great job highlighting Ron! Do you have any recommendations of a "local" cobbler in the west suburban Chicagoland area? I live about 40 miles west of Chicago, and the last local cobbler I used destroyed my dress shoes. I am leery until I see some of their work. Thanks!!

    • @WyattDadCobblerCompany
      @WyattDadCobblerCompany  Год назад +1

      We have a lot of Chicago customers. There is a cobbler, that I heard from one of my former customers, is good. His name is Dan. I will see if I can get you an address. There is a great cobbler in Peoria, but that doesn’t exactly qualify as local, lol.
