As always, great video. I am actually getting ready to do rack & pinion in my truck also. I did cut the frame horns off of mine, and started building tube frame from the crossmember forward. One thing I did for my stock bumper mounts, I made a little jig out of scrap angle steel that bolted to the motor mount holes in the frame, and then tacked/bolted it to my bumper brackets before I cut the old frame horns off. Then when I started building the tube front, I just bolted my jig back up, and my brackets were in the OE location. Then welded them to my tube. Can't wait to see how it turns out. I've been to busy the last few weeks to work on mine. Thanks for the motivation!
Tig welding….was first taught by a guy 40 years ago and he described it like this to me. Warm her up till she spreads her legs and dip your rod in. Then pull your rod out before she closes them. Works for me perfectly. LOL
I’m curious on the cutting the factory K-member out. I’m just finding your videos and my son are interested in SBC swapping our little father/son 96 s10. I mainly want to be able to remove oil pan if needed. Is there anything particular we should look into?
Have a 1998 gmc jimmy 4x4 sle 4.3l 4l60e np233 npo codes gu6 3:43 gears. Is there a rack and pinion I could use just want to replace the stock setup. I drive trails alot to get to camp to hunt. I'm in Alaska.dont want to cut or modify the frame
Nice work Robby. I tend to be lazy...so I suggest you save yourself the work of tubing the front end and just turn up the boost a little to compensate for weight. ;~)
just watched the video, enjoyed it a question or two for you i would like to do rack and pinion on my 2001 the manual unit you used would that work or be good as a street driver. i really dont understand what's is meant by manual and power steering racks.
I would also love too see how the front turns out with the tubbing. Since you are doing all the front end work. Are you planning too do any rear end work also? And for the lighting . Those cheap sob don't care they just want your money. Can't wait too see the derby car over Hall.👍👍👍👍
Tubular front frame is a great idea. 👏👏👏

Truck is coming along great! Can't wait to see the demolition derby.
Daaaam Dude I'm excited for this twin-turbo setup!! this is going to be sick!
Everything you've done and are doing to your s10 is exactly what I want to do with mine. Nice build man. I have really enjoyed your videos!
They sell a tubular radiator support and tubular front end kit now for the S10.

Great video 👊💪🏁
Get the harbor freight 5000 lumens. Cheap and mine has been left on for a full year, still works great!!
Did you have to drill the spindles to fiit the steering rod bolts and if so what did you do for the taper
I used adapters 91636055 from speedway motors
Cut it, tube it, get her done, love to see you do this , I may do this to my Sonoma v8 swap.
They sell aluminum core supports for these trucks

I've been waiting 3 1/2 months for my 4l80e from Hughes
Parts are hard to get these days
Awesome man…
What upper control arms are you running need to get tubular ones mine hit my long tubes on my 91 s10
2 left hand 91931134 from speedway motors but they aren’t intended for street use. They are circle track arms.
@@RobbyVsGarage it’s not going to be a daily driver more of a weekend truck to be able to toss around and do burnouts maybe cars and coffee type stuff
Cut that front frame and do the tube front end!!

Probably not. You would want power steering.
can you use manual cuz you tires are skinny, i have 12 wide tires on the front would that be to hard for a manual rack?
fur sure tube front like the rack
Robby what would u take for the single turbo set up?
