Out of all the reviews on RUclips, this is the only one that effectively compares and shows the difference in noise levels between this oil impulse driver and its conventional counterpart. Well done 👍🏻
*Awesome combo **MyBest.Tools** Veeeeery powerful especially for size. And the batteries last well. When charged and stored they don't lose power like my old bulky ones did.*
Thank you so much for that. I really care about the English language and it saddens me to see the way that English people seem to have no pride in it. I often hear the most beautiful English from people who have learned it as a second language.
It will be great when they come out with an impact driver like this for mechanics where you can dial in the exact torque you need and it will torque bolts up to that torque. Like a fast torque wrench.
The fluid drive is louder... I have the DTD and its an absolute monster of a tool. The difference in power between setting 1 and 4 is Incredible. The auto function is also really useful. Strongly suggest The DTD!
This review was top notch, thank you very much! The dewalt impacts become excruciatingly loud after they become used. I'd probably grab the soft impact, not too common I drive 14" GRK fasteners into timber, and you can just grab the nut buster for that.
Hi! After viewing, many videos on power tools cordless drill 's ! Many branded 's , many color's , many smiles, many plans , many keyless! But ..... Only one ' drill 's , are no ....... Or low ........ Noises!!!!!!! I see ! I knows! By now !!!! Not to late to learn's! The power of sounds! Makita ! So solid '
I've actually found a good powerful drill driver to be faster than my impact with lag bolts. I was wall mounting a TV and my drill was probably twice as fast as my impact. I still love my impact driver for Phillips screws as it really helps resist caming out.
Oh Chris you stole our thunder. We have made that point in our comparison which is coming up soon. The impact driver is smaller and easier to use but when it comes to speed even the best of them are not as fast as a good drill.
Would this guide be useful with this new information I haven't understood before? www.its.co.uk/blog/buying-guides/makita-drill-2018-edition/ I meant to say, could a home gamer get by with a drill (with care taken on Philips)? Makita LXD is in a way overkill but as one just looking to "buy and cry once" in one manufacturer/brand of cordless system I think this is a more responsible way of consuming..
@@Simonsimps hi bud from a guy on gumtree his name is kosta, just type in makita impacts, or you can buy from ebay from Japan bud it takes weeks to arrive and you get hit with import charges aswell
Has dhp481 been upgraded and if so what is the latest model that has replaced it and which impact drive has more power between the dtd129 and dtd170 ,I want to purchase one of them but I’m not sure which one has more power
Simple fix with the 'one touch chuck'..... buy the Makita XDT12 from the States. Same as the Makita DTD170 but for some reason the Americans get the better chuck. Be warned though, the Japanese imports you see on eBay have a 'one touch chuck' but over there the 1/4" bits are made longer and our bit holders will have a lot of end play. I can't understand why Makita make 3 different versions all have 'made in Japan' stamped on the casings. Maybe Roger you can find out why the USA get the better chuck and it's not just the DTD170 that is missing out, all the American Makita impact drivers have the 'one touch chuck'. Seems that the UK / European customers are being sold an inferior machine!!😤
This is from Makita U.K in Japan A very interesting question on the one touch chuck. Having gone right back to Makita Japan we are told that it was offered to Europe previously but that customer’s response was negative. "The ‘inferior’ comment is unjustified and because every Makita tool, regardless of the range it sits within, is manufactured to the same exemplary standards as you would expect from this global brand. Equally, customers make their choice of specification to best suit their operations." So that is their answer. Do you think you might have hurt their feeling? I would say that if they only offer one chuck or bit holder in a certain market there is no real choice, unless you chose another brand. I would be interested to hear from everyone who reads this whether they like the one touch or not. I can't see any drawbacks so I am not sure who said they didn't like it.
From personal experience the 'one touch chuck' is the way forward. More and more of Makita's competitors are using this chuck, so maybe its time for them to have a rethink. Surly they wouldn't want to start loosing sales just because someone said the UK market didn't want that feature, I really can't see any negatives against the 'one touch chuck'. I wouldn't buy another impact driver without it, it's so much quicker just push the bits in, no more fumbling about with two hands.
addnet4 not all the Makita impacts have the one touch chuck the xdt12 is the only one with the one touch Chuck there might be one other but every single other impact even the new subcompact ones don’t come with one touch chuck.
im about to take back my impact driver with the four speeds, it is too slow to drive screws into decking and metal. Then the fastest setting is way too fast. My mate using his old makita impact driver worked way better and didnt have four speed settings. Going to take it back and exchange it for older model
Does anyone else also think that cramming technology into a tool is making it less robust and that if your using pro grade tools, you shouldn’t need the tool to adjust its power. Were men, not children
I would very much like to be able to buy the oil hydraulic version but who on earth has that kind of money to pay around £300 for body only (even now in 2019 Novembre) ?????? Jesus...... Tnx. but no Tnx. DTD170 or cheaper model should do just fine.
The way you edited to quickly switch back and forth between the two for the noise text was exactly what we needed.
Brilliant!😀

After a ton of reviewing on all the power tools avalible in my area I decided on makita for my trade in HVAC and boy oh boy I do not regret it!
I have Milwaukee. It's great as well
Nice! i often have difficult to undestand english speaking from UK due Accent except YOU! Very easy to understand without need to put subtitle ON

brilliant, I was struggling to decide between the two and you've made the decision for me
Love your videos. But honestly, for driving long screws a drill driver will work twice a quick but heavier.
It will be great when they come out with an impact driver like this for mechanics where you can dial in the exact torque you need and it will torque bolts up to that torque. Like a fast torque wrench.
$$$
Hilti just released that exact tool this week
manual torque wrench the bolts still just to make sure its acutally like 120Nm
Really excellent, comprehensive review - I learnt a lot.
Many thanks.
141 looks good , I like the noise reduction
oil impact is way better i realy love it never look back to basic impactdriver again
I agree
so far best impact I've own.
The 170 is monster. I use it evryday.
"What did you have in your pockets" Thanks for another cracking video Roger & Team

Frankly, for galvanized lag screws I much prefer using a strong drill/driver. An impact drill causes quite a bit of damage to the coating.
New makita dtd171dz from Japan is amazing not released in UK yet but well worth buying from Japan

what is ‘dts141 & dtd170’ anvil type? mz or nz?

Thank u so much...
I’m not really fascinated for Makita, but those one looks really good tools, I need to check if it’s worth the price.
Would love a head to head against the milwaukee surge
JN Mackall i won't head to head too.
What do you doing after the test with the drills if you sell it second-hand?
Always interesting sell as new unboxed lol

Have you seen how expensive the Makita DT171 is, and thats body only body only
Anybody knows the difference between the 170 and the new dtd 171x !?
american version has the bit you can just push in, strange they left that out of yours
Good man! 😎

Man...I wish makita tools were the color of the ones in your thumbnail...
What do you mean by fluid oil on the Makita dts141
It is a fluid impact driver which works by forcing hydraulic oil through to drive the rotor.
Does anyone else also think that cramming technology into a tool is making it less robust and that if your using pro grade tools, you shouldn’t need the tool to adjust its power. Were men, not children
Grow up
Agreed, reminds me of some of the tech in new cars, it just isn't relevant to driving. And the tools dont need it to get the job done.
goed ding de beste
I wanna buy one but it's £450 here in the UK now. That's too expensive
шикарные шуруповёрты
I prefer the tdt170
Price was great.
What i need is a small impact driver, why do they start building space schips around impact drill. with all this electronic ffs.
You can still buy a basic model
@@SkillBuilder Is it same size ?
on your video they do the same i did not see diffrence
its not making any sense ....
one is a fluid drive so it is quieter
Skill Builder i meant the power not the noise
We have just finished testing the torque on all these drivers and the video will be out soon. It is surprising

Who even needs speed settings?
Clearly not you
Probably for smaller screws
There was a better time when there was no impact bullshit on construction sites ...
I still use a drill when I can. Nothing compares to an impact for long screws though.
Great video
