    Your mini rant is the EXACT reason you're my favorite to watch! Because you're so real. They talk about "full coverage" when they don't need anything covered! Lol. I appreciate the realness in your videos.

      Awe! Thank you so much Michelle! I love that there are people out there that won't rip me apart for being real and telling what I honestly think is the truth! Thank you for loving my realness, because it's one of the only things I have going for me! HAHA!

      I like your honesty and closeups. I don’t think I’d be buying that. I am much older but with similar problems. Not good coverage to me. Thank you. Good for just normal skin maybe.

    It's not a mattifying foundation. It has a natural finish. The cover FX brush is to dense. It was basically taking the foundation off of your face and not giving you a smooth application.This foundation applies better with a flat top Kabuki brush and buffed into the skin. Also instead of putting it directly on your face I would put it on the back of my hand and pat and buff it evenly into the skin. I've covered bruises and tattoos with the foundation and didn't have any issues with getting coverage. With that Dermablend powder you have to "bake" it on and let it sit for two to three minutes and then dust the excess off. I would also try going down a shade. It comes in 20 shades ULTA only carries 12 shades. Macy's and Dillard's carries all 20 shades.

    I would recommend using less product. It having a 33% pigment load will allow to get enough coverage with 4 drops. Also, try a different brush, that is flat top but not too dense and it'll go on amazingly! :)

      @SeekingAlexandria  7 лет назад +1

      Yes! I definitely realized later that the brush was a complete nightmare haha! Keep those tips coming- I love them!!!!

    Yes girl! I'm a new subscriber and I really appreciate your honesty and your real ness. When ever I watch those top influencers here on RUclips I think the same like cmon whose face really looks that good all day. It's just not realistic in my eyes for the everyday person. But if someone is reading this and you're a normal person and your face does look that good all day please share your tips girl! Love your channel girl kinda binge watching them 😊

      LOL! I love that you just said that, and that I am not the only one that thinks it! It is so unrealistic and I am so glad that my crazy ass can come in here and tell everyone that it's ok if you're not perfect looking BEFORE you add foundation HAHA!

      Yes, I like it , and think you put it on too fast. I would have given more attention to each area, as I went, not jumped to the next highlighter or concealer or whatever..In fact I don't even wear all that extra stuff cause I don't have those skills yet. You looked beatiful after you got everything on though, I have to admit. Give this stuff another chance or add it to something else, a foundation you do like for extra coverage☺ You're probably telling me to ShutUp, by now😲 lol lol Love your review and speech, and agree w U, BTW☺
      Edit, I don't do have Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter or FB, or I'd follow U there.🤗

    Hi! I just subscribed to your channel! I've seen several of your videos already. I tried the Dermablend drops and what I did was just smear it on my face just like you did (over my Becca Illumindating primer) and I used a dense flat top kabuki brush and patted the Dermablend Flawless creator into my skin . It came out very even and smooth and not patchy at all. I set it with Clarins Loose Setting Powder (it's a non drying powder) and it looked so nice! It had me looking flawless for my entire shift in a hospital. I did get oily some after about 5 hrs but it didn't look bad. I just patted it off with a tissue. Just fyi if you wanted to give it another go and just stipple it on vs buffing. ☺

      Hey Debbie! That is such a great idea- I will have to start changing the way that I use pigment drops in the sense of application and see if it makes a difference! Thank you for that- I will definitely give it a try and see if it helps! Either way I am so glad that they worked for you- they're really pretty on the skin!

    I subscribed however I worked in skincare for many years and I highly suggest using a clarifying lotion for acne prone skin. It’ll loosen up
    The dead skin cells that sit on top of your problematic areas. When you put any foundation it’ll look ok but it can look even smoother and wear way longer when you use a clarifying lotion and moisturize with a gel afterwards. Then a light layer of foundation and build on. Just a suggestion. You look beautiful either way! Love your personality and this is just my opinion hope nobody takes it wrong.

    I do wonder if the drop type foundations work better when they're mixed with something? I know the cover fx drops actually say not to use them alone. I think they're designed to work better when they're mixed with things.

    • @SeekingAlexandria
      @SeekingAlexandria  7 лет назад

      See I have always wondered the same thing! But everytime I mix pigment with something else my face is SO patchy because I am pretty sure my skin is mental and it absorbs the "lotiony" part of whatever I mix it with and then leaves my skin super blotchy with the pigment LOL It's a hot mess every time!

    When you use the powder is the beauty blender damp or dry?

    • @SeekingAlexandria
      @SeekingAlexandria  7 лет назад +1

      Hey there! Good question- my beauty blender is always just slightly damp when I am applying my setting powder- it really helps the powder to cling just a tiny bit extra and be pushed into the skin just a little bit more. I have done it wet and dry and doing it damn is definitely the best! :)

    I have the oily skin issue of dissapearing or broken down makeup as well. What helps me is avoiding irritating my skin, avoiding alcohol in skin care, and not using too many products under foundation, specially not emollient moisturizers or primers with a lot of slip. Setting sprays so far only speed the breaking down process.

    • @SeekingAlexandria
      @SeekingAlexandria  7 лет назад

      I definitely agree- I notice a big difference depending on the type of primer I use and the type of skincare I use. Thank you so much for the tips!!!!

      The foundation that comes on top in my personal pile is the Clinique Stay Matte foundation. It only has light to medium coverage sadly (and the coverage isnt buildable, it just cakes if you try to build it up) but it doesnt break me out AT ALL, and it evens out my skintone, looks natural and wears well on my oily, sweaty face.
      In my personal collection, I have a foundation graveyard I've slowly created by having to stop using fundations because thy clog my pores, cause whiteheads, or give me allergic reactions. So even though I have foundations with more coverage that look good, I cant use them. So yeah, Clinique Stay matte is my favorite right now, I apply with a dense brush and I pair it with concealer to cover acne scars.
      Lately I prime my t zone with the Loreal Pro matte foundation with my fingers. It gives no coverage that way XD but it gives oil control! I put the foundation on top :)

    You are awesome and real- thanks for the details on a product I am looking to get myself. Yes- you rant (just like me) but everything you said has input. I was shocked to see someone start off showing their REAL issues prior to make up. you inspire me to be real. Just as a note: Manuka honey helps with acne in a great way (if your interested). Thanks for your video and I look fwd to following you - - - -

    Maybe you did not use enough Dermablend powder to set it . i saw tthem on HSN recently and they said to powder your face and then after a minute brush away the excess powder. They stressed the importance of the powder to keep the foundatiom drops in place and unsmudgable.

    I think before putting on foundation, you have to go for a deep, deep facial.
