the problem while using the op is that sometimes i waste the dash because im peeking where theyre not going and then its real hard to retake with an op, or else im using the dash to avoid utility cus the enemy team uses it to push the op away :P
You should be playing your first shot where there is cover to move behind, without using your dash. Example: Ascent A Short, looking at Tiles. You can wait for someone to peek, and you don't risk dying, because there is a wall next to you. With an op, try to only pop your dash if you hear footsteps, or enemy utility, i.e if you're "100% sure you're going to fight". Other cases where you might pop dash are if you are putting yourself on a dangerous angle, like peeking top mid from short, on Ascent, or walking out bottom mid from arches, on Ascent. Only peek wide when you have dash up or, again, you're 100% confident that you won't get traded in your position. The only way you'll know if you wont get traded is through blind confidence and experience. This is the dilemma of playing Duelist. I probably should've gone over this in the guide. But I'd rather you waste the dash attempting to take space than if you didn't use it at all. With or without dash, retaking with an op is going to be difficult if you don't get used to using the weapon. A lot of players are scared of using an op on retake because you don't have the ability to kill players back-to-back, which rifles do. So you need to play your angles and take your time accordingly. I highly recommend watching PRX something or EDG ZmjjKK play operator (they have quite a few vods up on youtube) because you'll learn more from watching them than you will from just this comment. There are a lot more things to consider but just focus on this first before you worry about them. This wasn’t really mentioned but the reason for taking space by dashing in is to create pressure from multiple angles that defenders have to worry about. Typically there is a main entrance that defenders can watch from dozens of angles, but dashing in offsets their crosshair placement to your smoke, which lets your team easily walk in and kill them. If they kill you or your teammate it is super easy to peek and trade from a completely different angle.
The thought I did mention this. If not I removed it because it made the section too long, people actually stopped watching after I started giving reasoning.. wtf right? It's not about crosshair placement. You can't predict how an enemy player is going to hold. Some players at low elo and super high elo won't even react to your dash. Super good anchors will use their abilities on the choke and isolate you, leading to a 1v1 and sometimes your death because of defender positional advantage. It's the pressure and the crossfire created between you and your team when you dive in - the space between you and your teammates is now entirely free because any defenders playing there are trapped between 2 angles, and you are now in a better position to fight the site anchor. The player on site has to make a decision to either fight main - into 2-4 players, or to fight you, in which case they are at a disadvantage because they probably have sets of util thrown at them or their positioning is thrown off entirely because of your dash. Just because you dash in does NOT mean your teammates get a free kill. Better players will actually abuse the window of your dash to peek into main from a safe position and get a kill on your teammates. But in this situation, you are on site behind them - ready to trade. That is the strength of dash, the position you gain.

Sorry for the late reply, I was on holiday. I use hold now, I used to use toggle. Sometimes I switch between the two. It really depends on which lets you hit shots more consistently. You can train yourself to do both by playing operator in deathmatch. Don't listen to ppl crying about it, deathmatch is a tool and there are like 30 guns in the game for you to use in there. I use mouse 5 to cycle between zoom levels. I do this regardless of using toggle or hold. Hope this helps!

hey! that's only like a month. I still find out new things about this game every day. there's some cool videos on my channel explaining techs that you probably don't know, like silent rope jumps, that I think you'd find useful! you can impress your teammates :)
depends what your dash key is. I use default keys, you pretty much hold a with whatever finger you usually use to move, I think I use index key so I switch to my ring finger, and then you hit the dash key after the windup ends. Go into the range and just try it, there's no correct way to do it, just how you feel like it. If you've been trying for a while and it's too difficult, you can move dash onto another key, or even a mouse button
if you are a main oper, and excel at the role, then I recommend you save for it. If you are a jett one trick, you should be doing this. Its super powerful and not playing it is wasting free rounds. If not, play normally and take it when the opportunity presents itself.
throw your smoke, before you entry. If you throw it while you are entering, then they can see you through the smoke for a few seconds. Also, ask your teammates for utilities, so that they will be blind, stunned, etc when you go entry
I'm watching this video actually trying to find a counter for the smoke-dash combo, it's quite anoying when the jett knows how to take advantage properly on that entrance
I think I briefly went over it while discussing entry pathing, but I'll try and give you some indepth info. Well Placed Sentinel/Controller Utility combined with you moving to fight with it is generally the answer. For example, if you flash the Jett - preferably with a nearsight, (omen blind, reyna flash, fade dog, skye ult), you can do it with any flash though, then they are pretty much useless. The other more consistent thing you can do is to flash Jett's team. This way you get a 1/2v1 on site where Jett is generally at a disadvantage due to defender positioning. If you lose that fight however, the entire site opens up. Killjoy/Cypher/Deadlock util does much the same thing. You put the Jett at a disadvantage when they come in. Try place your utility ON Jett's dash spots instead of for the rest of the team. If she is the first player to fight you, she should be the first one that gets hit - no point putting your utility all in position for the enemy team if you aren't going to be able to use it. Smokes are also a good counter. If you smoke off the enemy team, you get a 1v1 with the Jett again, although there are no inherent advantages here, and this only works if you have multiple players holding the same smoke. Last thing I can say is if an entry is REALLY destroying your game, just play off site. Save your utility to fight together. Usually this is the case if the enemy team is dumping util on you like stuns, flashes and ults. In that case, you create an advantage by getting off site. From a Duelists perspective, things can get really difficult if you don't get opening frags, even more so if your team has invested util to help you get them. If you can't kill someone in a 1v1, try make it a 5v5 instead.
@@ik4h Most of the cases I face this, is because I play on top of sage walls (taking advantage killing players trying to break it in main doors). Jett smoke-dash and now my attention is divided in two. The best counter I saw is with cypher, placing cables were jett usually does this tends to un-motivate jetts to do it again. I guess the best is what you said, try play off-site for a few to change the rythm
@@escorpianoyqueee You've answered your own question. You really shouldn't be playing on sage walls every round. The advantage only works when its unexpected. Just because you're high up doesn't mean the shot is harder to hit
I don't understand. How is it when I entry path the same way here I get spammed inside the smoke or get backstabbed after the smoke fades? I always feel my entries are wasted because my teammates cannot follow and enter the choke and I just die immediately alone in site.
you are hitting sites when there is too much util in the round. If this is happening, you are clearly playing at a higher elo than most players. try defaulting or getting your teammates to make presence on other parts of the map to force utility out - that way when you go entry, you won't have to deal with nades, mollies, reveals, and getting spammed through smokes because the enemy team won't have the abilities or rotations to do so. Communication is key. If you don't want to communicate, or your team won't listen, go play 20 DMs a day and simply out aim everyone.
@@ik4h if that's the case then I'll probably reach ascendant by 2030 because out aiming everyone is impossible in an 80% smurfing elo let alone doing 20 DMs a day. (Yes I have a life, I touch grass and not play 10 hours a day.) And comms are a 50-50 jungle when you are solo queuing when teammates/enemies are either unranked or platinum smurfs so I guess leaving this elo is luck based.
20 DMs a day was a joke, btw. LOL. and it's not even that much time either. I don't think I've ever played more than 10 in a day, and usually I only did that because I was trying to stay awake resetting my sleep schedule over the holidays. if you keep making excuses for yourself, you will never improve. you aren't looking for advice from me, you're looking for a place to vent your feelings. there's no reason to become hostile when I've taken time out of my day in good faith to help you improve. if you are losing to 'smurfs' then you need to become good enough that you become the smurf. how do you do that? by playing better players, aka, by playing against 'smurfs'. instead of losing your mental everytime you face a player better than you - which by the way happens 10000x more in immortal than it does in diamond, you will be facing radiants that can beat you with their eyes closed - learn from how those players capitalise on your mistakes. smurfing is a gift in disguise for a player of your rank. if you were below diamond or plat, I would understand. Those players aren't near the skill level to actually learn from someone dumpstering you. They haven't even learnt the basics of the game, it's like Lebron James playing against grade schoolers. But if you are pushing to ascendant, a rank where macro and micro start to separate, and you actually think about the decisions you are making, then you NEED to stop making excuses and start taking losses on the chin. that's the only way you will improve. the only reason I ever got out of being hardstuck immo 200rr was because I began playing scrims/10 mans/ranked games against players who were significantly better than me. before that I was going negative every other game. I just got mad like you, and blamed my team.
@@ik4h Believe me brother I don't make excuses. I try to make most of my free time dedicating into watching other vod review channels or valorant guides (I've watched, subscribed and commented in most channels big or small to absorb knowledge from all players and roles). And at max try to play 3 quality matches whenever even though most of the time I can only go for 1-2 ranked games (thanks to work) (also commenting this during my free time KEK, gotta go back though, appreciate the tips) And yes I may be that grade schooler fighting against lebron type of scenario where I learn almost nothing every matchup, but I try to force myself to become better by watching my own vods. The highest I peaked was diamond 3 and never got back there again (that was when viper had 2 mollies and op smokes). So I guess I did kinda have to relearn another role (one that can carry solo queue jungle with aim and beat smurfs ) because I felt like I only got there because I got lucky and got carried. Thanks a lot for the reply though, this channel will be big someday and hopefully I rank up as well. I'll let you know if I managed to reach ascendant with your tips.
This is the second comment I've gotten on this, so I'll make one within the next week or so :) But for now, check the pinned comment, it has some stuff about dash usage and a common problem while oping
activate dash, and updraft, by the time your dash is ready to be used you will be at the perfect height to hit the generator. other than that its just feeling - make sure you're actually aiming just above generator. i wish i could help more.
when dashing in as jett i struggle to look around quickly like you mention near the start of the video. my sens right now is .22 800 dpi. should i raise it?
Your sens is high enough. Its higher than most players. I think you just aren't completely comfortable with moving your mouse fast, give it a practice in custom game for a bit, it should really only take a few seconds to get down. All you are doing is moving your mouse during your dash
it depends. do you know there are multiple people mid? i'd only really activate dash like that if I know I am fighting into multiple opponents at once. but the way you use your dash is up to you. if you get a kill, dash away and live, that IS your entry. you've done your job. so don't overthink it, play the scenario and see if it works. if you end up wasting your dash, you just take that knowledge into the next round/game.
hold or tap the d key/right movement input before you dash. whichever one is more consistent for you. dash is omnidirectional, meaning it will move in whatever direction you were going while the ability was activated. if you were standing still, it will go forward.

As a Yoru main I'd like to tell you that Jett is still useless compared to Yoru. Hate me comment section, but jetts kit is only good if you have enemies on ketamine.
I have always agreed with this take but Jett is simply a comfort pick for many players. She's not bad by any means but there are more versatile agents that fill her role for sure.
@@ik4h nah actually, I was shitting on Reyna 2 days ago on reddit. (Currently gold 3 but I can deal with players til immortal2-3+ they’re just a lot faster than I’ll ever be) So I was barely playing Reyna before that arguement session, I hated it because of how many Reyna players are just not giving a shit about the team. And I was wondering to the point where I just decided to give it a shot myself. 4 out of 4 matches win 3/4 with 900+ tracker score, I was able to take so much space for my team they had little to no job to plant and setup post plant. Retake was fun with an operator when I continously dodged people with e. And stopping agressive pushes by getting a pick and dodging with the e was also really fun and useful. Now so I’d rather disagree with myself at this point, I’ll try my best today to play Jett correctly and see if I can get the same just as with Reyna. Seeing how a dodge ability as a duelist can be if not more useful than a teleport is just facinating. It feels like you have more control because with yoru you can clear a certain spot but not a whole way not to mention that the tp is loud so your overall position or decision of how you play around it is more predictable and less versatile because they can just straight up dodge both of the flashes. Also I did not know that I can run with the jett knives so, yeah that’s new. I’ll update my comment with the results later today. Thanks for reminding me by answering to this comment.

Might be a stupid question, but how to dash to the right, like press the 2 keys with the same index finger?
depends what your dash key is. I use default keys, you pretty much hold a with whatever finger you usually use to move, I think I use index key so I switch to my ring finger, and then you hit the dash key after the windup ends.
Go into the range and just try it, there's no correct way to do it, just how you feel like it. If you've been trying for a while and it's too difficult, you can move dash onto another key, or even a mouse button

sorry I don't have any codes since the game deleted all of mine last update x.x
should you save for an op or simply play normaly and if you can buy it?
if you are a main oper, and excel at the role, then I recommend you save for it. If you are a jett one trick, you should be doing this. Its super powerful and not playing it is wasting free rounds.
If not, play normally and take it when the opportunity presents itself.
I op a they go b and then when i rotate b all my teammate unalive already
Go clutch
they always shoot me through the smoke when i entry what do i do?
throw your smoke, before you entry. If you throw it while you are entering, then they can see you through the smoke for a few seconds.
Also, ask your teammates for utilities, so that they will be blind, stunned, etc when you go entry
Every game you post is pure gold! 🤯 Been grinding to Radiant myself and posting highlights - would love for you all to take a look!
What resolution were you using in-match
in game I play 1280x960
@@ik4h damn never saw a youtuber reply this fast to his fans
:)!
(Yes I have a life, I touch grass and not play 10 hours a day.)
And comms are a 50-50 jungle when you are solo queuing when teammates/enemies are either unranked or platinum smurfs so I guess leaving this elo is luck based.
And at max try to play 3 quality matches whenever even though most of the time I can only go for 1-2 ranked games (thanks to work) (also commenting this during my free time KEK, gotta go back though, appreciate the tips)
And yes I may be that grade schooler fighting against lebron type of scenario where I learn almost nothing every matchup, but I try to force myself to become better by watching my own vods.
I'll let you know if I managed to reach ascendant with your tips.
you need more subs
Is there like a guide on how to use an OP properly? That's really my issue at the moment.
This is the second comment I've gotten on this, so I'll make one within the next week or so :)
But for now, check the pinned comment, it has some stuff about dash usage and a common problem while oping
Hey! I've just released an OP guide :)
10:54 Ive been trying to do this but i cant seem to get the timing down is there any tips to nail it consecutively
activate dash, and updraft, by the time your dash is ready to be used you will be at the perfect height to hit the generator. other than that its just feeling - make sure you're actually aiming just above generator.
i wish i could help more.
when dashing in as jett i struggle to look around quickly like you mention near the start of the video. my sens right now is .22 800 dpi. should i raise it?
Your sens is high enough. Its higher than most players.
I think you just aren't completely comfortable with moving your mouse fast, give it a practice in custom game for a bit, it should really only take a few seconds to get down. All you are doing is moving your mouse during your dash
Should I open dash while peeking Mid or should I save that Dash for entry
it depends. do you know there are multiple people mid?
i'd only really activate dash like that if I know I am fighting into multiple opponents at once.
but the way you use your dash is up to you.
if you get a kill, dash away and live, that IS your entry. you've done your job. so don't overthink it, play the scenario and see if it works. if you end up wasting your dash, you just take that knowledge into the next round/game.

what’s your crosshair code

yes? you can do everything on any ping below 150.

For Jett isn’t it good to sit in your smoke and look at mini map ??
you should constantly be looking at your minimap. you should never need to sit still to look at it, or wait. it updates info in real time

How do I dash right lol
hold or tap the d key/right movement input before you dash. whichever one is more consistent for you. dash is omnidirectional, meaning it will move in whatever direction you were going while the ability was activated. if you were standing still, it will go forward.
@@ik4h thx bro, using by middle finger to tap e now and it’s working perfectly

As a Yoru main I'd like to tell you that Jett is still useless compared to Yoru. Hate me comment section, but jetts kit is only good if you have enemies on ketamine.
I have always agreed with this take but Jett is simply a comfort pick for many players. She's not bad by any means but there are more versatile agents that fill her role for sure.
@@ik4h nah actually, I was shitting on Reyna 2 days ago on reddit. (Currently gold 3 but I can deal with players til immortal2-3+ they’re just a lot faster than I’ll ever be)
So I was barely playing Reyna before that arguement session, I hated it because of how many Reyna players are just not giving a shit about the team.
