It's not the audio levels that are the problem so much as the obnoxious microphone buzzing, which is usually an electrical issue, like faulty cabling. With EQ adjustments and noise removal algorithms so easy to use these days it's really a shame to put out a video in this state.

@@PNDKM As you guys also noted in the Guest Competitive History video, he lost hard to Jax, which makes me think that by including Kratos in competitive play, you would legit have an overall more balanced meta by knocking down Kabal (or at least keeping him in check) while bumping up the lower tiers that could fight Kratos effectively (see: Jax). Also, on the topic of that parry, it being special cancelable on a hit from a normal or string and being able to combo off of the unblockable reflect is STRONG.

Although Kratos here was understandable, but they also added a lot of extra challenges and even skins for the DLC characters + more classic ninja skins on the PS Vita. Content that's more lost than MK9 itself 7_7
Since there's so many high tiers, I'd love to see tournaments of just low tiers in MK9, 10, and 11. I think it would be really interesting to see the not so much picked characters go at it in a tournament.
Honestly everyone tells me Shao Kahn is the lowest tier in MK 11 and yet I see certain players who absolutely dominate King of the Hill mode with him regularly even now, when almost the whole playerbase that's left is pretty sweaty. Being low tier in MK 11 sure isn't the gap it is with some other games at least.
Banned characters in fighting games are always a neat discussion. I remember when I went to EVO 2013, they were talking about banning Scorpion for a while or something of the sort, and i remember when Kokonoe dropped in BBCP the community rallied around her being banned. Man that was some good TV when that happened.
I am surprised Sareena wasn't here! Her throwing knives in MKA were super fast and OP! She was actually one of the most powerful characters on the roster because of them!

If I had to guess just due to general fighting game knowledge, moloch is probably is probably a low tier character even with super boss attributes. I believe in one of street fighter games there's a character called Evil Ryu who suffers from the same issues.
He has an infinite. It was three but string that left the opponent unable to play. You either carried it until 100% damage or carry them to a death trap. So yeah he had to be banned.

@@bluesolace9459 he could fire his projectile instantly off the ground and he recovered very quickly. Like kabal in mk9. However when Cyborg did it, some characters couldn't duck under it. They would either get hit or have to keep blocking. This led to Cyborg having a block infinite at full screen. Once he started. The opponents was basically dead

Sucked in Deadly Alliance atleast, only had like 10 moves and moved slower than a slug. Haven't played Armageddon since 2013 so I can't say anything about that version.

Damn this whole time I thought I was good at Armageddon only to now learn that the two characters I mained were on onaga and moloch 😂 two broken characters compared to everyone else
When the mortal kombat movie was released in theaters, my local theater had a mortal kombat 2 tournament beforehand (I'm dating myself a bit here but whatever) I ended up winning by using Baraka the whole time. He wasn't exactly a top tier character in that game but I made it work lol.
Kabal can infinite loop over and over for constant reset damage on mk11. Ive done it In matches, if they can't block in time, easiest ∞ loop is SquareX4 nomad dash. Jump land with square x4 into nomad dash. You can keep it up or mix it in combos. It only works when the opponent is grounded and can't block well
I loved Mortal Kombat Armageddon with the kreate a character I was cold with all my moves. Also y’all should make a video on Shaolin monks that game is slept on.
Having played the 360 and ps3 versions of MK9, I can plainly say that the ps3 version was quite inferior. Anytime an X-ray was done, the game slowed to a crawl. Kratos, while a neat addition, was also SO SLOW. All his moves, even basic combos, had painfully long startup. he also had several fatalities "censored" on him (Johnny doesn't give him a trophy, Mileena doesn't chew on his face, the list goes on).
I actually liked Kratos even though he was really slow, he had some really nice specials and the censored Fatalities, while sometimes really stupid, sometimes made sense. For example, I think it was Ermac's second Fatality where the opponent shrinks and gets crushed; while the other fighters try to run away in fear, Kratos stands ready for battle before being crushed. I think it added to his wrathful attitude and made for a nice detail.
I'm only a casual player of MK but it's lately been getting more fun to me each time I play and I was wanting to try getting actually good at it. I wanted to ask advice from anyone who's pretty damn good at it. Sorry if it's a dumb question but I mostly play Sub Zero and Jacqui Briggs, Sub Zero being my main. My problem, though, is I seem to be much better with Jacqui than SZ. My question is should I make her my main instead or just get better with SZ? Lol also is he just a harder character to use than JB or are all fighters at the same user difficulty or whatever? Finally is practice mode gonna be my best option to train myself? Again sorry if dumb questions or if I worded it weird, idk all the fighting game lingo yet, if any. Thank you
@@abunchahoopla4392 I'd personally suggest (not that I'm a pro or anything) finding the fighter that you just naturally do the best with. Perfect them. Even if they're not the character you wish they were. For your secondary choice, I'd suggest giving everyone equal practice for 3 reasons. 1. Might discover a new main through practice 2. Won't be limited to being a 2 trick target. 3. Give yourself the advantage of having a better understanding of your opponents options and move sets. Helping with knowing their move timing for blocking and reversal purposes
@@abunchahoopla4392 idk if practice mode is the best once you know moves and combos. I think dialing up difficulty and hitting the endless towers gives me the best practice personally.

No not really, characters were insane but day 1 patches helped. Quan Chi was insane while Shinnok was barely finished. They did a video on vanilla MKX years ago. For MK11, special moves that made characters broken or better were locked. Scorpion had a KB that would net him wins that would be banned from tournaments. Trunderdawg made a video on that. Edit: Also Cyrax and Kabal were to good from day 1 so no balance wasn't that great.

Yeah, MKA was the first time to have kreate-a-fighter, but it was also the last time. You know it's never coming back, just like MK4's cinematic endings (laugh all you want at the gif-like animation loops, but it's still better than slideshows/motion comics Boon's been doing since that).
On Kratos, interesting that you said tournament standard was Xbox. In the US it was ps3 (which was EVO standard). Interesting how standard differs by region
It made sense. Stations often needed Mvc3 and street fighter 4 on xbox too. Most of not all top players ended up using 360 online so it all kinda got rolled into one.

personally i say if characters need to be banned because they are way too broken for their own game then the game in general shouldn't be a competitive tournament game at all
The mobile mk was so easy you were given Johnny cage as free you could do his normal punches and kicks and players just wouldn't block all of it or couldn't get out of block stun. Winning was so easy
MK4G Sektor is pretty much the most broken character in the franchise. I’m using you won’t be mentioning him though since the game didn’t have a competitive scene.
Playing MK9, online...I kept beating this guy, every single time I logged on...he'd challenge me, no matter the match up he'd pick Scorpion! So one day, after like the 25th game...he finally won, when he did his fatality...he pm'd "TOASTY" then my system cut off...when I cut it back on, my hdd was completely wiped! Everything was gone, haven't hopped back online competitively since!
can you point me in the direction of these so called mk trilogy tournaments? I have practiced for years since I was a little kid and I know pretty well every character and combos n all. I would really really like to test my ability against players closer to my level in such a game, anyone who plays with me that I know never really got into it, other than mk 9 and even then I know that game and have to hold back to make sure they don't just give up, which helped because they definitely got better, but again please help me K and M TY!!!

Every multi platform game on PS3 seemed to be the worst version, from Fallout NV to GTA4.
Being slow doesn't mean not strong. Kratos was also banned too on tournaments because he was fairly strong.

On Kratos, interesting that you said tournament standard was Xbox. In the US it was ps3 (which was EVO standard). Interesting how standard differs by region

It made sense. Stations often needed Mvc3 and street fighter 4 on xbox too. Most of not all top players ended up using 360 online so it all kinda got rolled into one.

personally i say if characters need to be banned because they are way too broken for their own game then the game in general shouldn't be a competitive tournament game at all
The mobile mk was so easy you were given Johnny cage as free you could do his normal punches and kicks and players just wouldn't block all of it or couldn't get out of block stun. Winning was so easy
I hope in the future, when ps3 emulation is a thing, people will make tournaments That allows kratos as a playable character

MK4G Sektor is pretty much the most broken character in the franchise. I’m using you won’t be mentioning him though since the game didn’t have a competitive scene.

Playing MK9, online...I kept beating this guy, every single time I logged on...he'd challenge me, no matter the match up he'd pick Scorpion! So one day, after like the 25th game...he finally won, when he did his fatality...he pm'd "TOASTY" then my system cut off...when I cut it back on, my hdd was completely wiped! Everything was gone, haven't hopped back online competitively since!

can you point me in the direction of these so called mk trilogy tournaments? I have practiced for years since I was a little kid and I know pretty well every character and combos n all. I would really really like to test my ability against players closer to my level in such a game, anyone who plays with me that I know never really got into it, other than mk 9 and even then I know that game and have to hold back to make sure they don't just give up, which helped because they definitely got better, but again please help me K and M TY!!!
