Great Character 👍🏼
@@papileche8686 Really??
@@papileche8686 i mean, if you ever paid attention you would have realize she has always been a feminist. Like, she is a black doctor, she was chief resident, head of general and chief of surgery. She had to fight with teeth and claws to get what she deserved. She's been a feminist all along.
@@papileche8686 the fact that she is black and was chief resident is what tells you she is a feminist. She had to work her ass off in an industry that was built mostly by and for men. Just like Ellis, she was stepped on because she was a woman, plus a black one. When she learnt to defend herself, she fought to keep herself up. Just because now she is speaking up about issues doesn't mean she just started to be a feminist. She's always been.
@@papileche8686 of course im a feminist. I believe in equal rights, and Bailey's character shows that you can too achieve what you want, even in a world thats not so used to see women in charge, or having big, important jobs. I'm not going to say anything else because you clearly don't want to see or understand what I'm telling you, but in Shondas words, "Bailey is what a feminist look like". Have a good life. Bye.

Ik it's supposed to be sad but I just can't take it seriously. Callies fucking face when Owen starts singing is golden 1:27 she looks terrified
It looks like she had hope for me when owen start singing
LMFAO PLS
I cannot LMAO
She's terrified because she knows she's hallucinating and it's her brain shutting down, firing every synapse trying to stay alive. She is experiencing her death, and she knows it.
Kind of what head injury does...
I'm not sure how people don't seem to understand this episode. Callie always plays music and is very strongly tied to music in the show, even the actress in real life has experience singing so when the episode was about her life hanging in the line she envisions her friends singing to her; it's how she calms herself.
CJ i dont think its how she calm herself. I think that when she said calliope meant music, she means that when everyone starts singing she's gonna die thats why she looks so scared
It’s not to calm herself though, it’s just how she sees what’s going on. 🙄
And now it’s one of my favorite and most re-watched episodes. 🤷🏾♀️
CJ i think you are spot on... its her vision, almost dying. She starts the song, in a out of body experience.
It could be auditory hallucinations, I could be a coping mechanism, it could also be how she feels, or it could mean that she was dying
This what Greys Anatomy is missing now. Characters that we actually care about
I care about all the characters. Love them all!!
Screw Deluca
And Schmitt, and Helm. Forgot the other ones but them too, Link's the only cool new one
Probably because they're all dead :'D
In the new season Meredith, Alex and Webber wont work at the hospital anymore.. So great
Fun fact: both Sara Ramirez (Callie) and Chandra Wilson (Bailey) have been in multiple Broadway shows, and Sara has won a Tony Award
Sarah Rodrigues wait REALLY?! MY BROADWAY AND GREYS LOVING ASS IS SHOOKETH
Find your grail.
We know.
And also Sara is behind the Voice of Queen Miranda. Sofia the 1st's mother 😊
And Hunt has multiple albums and a European Grammy
i don’t understand how people can hate this episode. kevin, sara, and chandras voice together gives me actual chills
Because most can’t sing lol
it’s objectively ridiculous
Bailey and Torres are both professional singers. Owens voice sounds like Hugh Jackman I think
You have to be joking. I saw this on a livestream and 30,000 people were dying of laughter.
@@zthibault97 No it really isnt
It honestly frustrates me that this episode gets so much hate. The musical episode is actually genius and very cleverly done. It shows that Callie is afraid following her accident and she’s trying to find a way to calm herself down. Also shows the extent of her head injury as she’s hallucinating everyone singing. This episode would’ve been a lot less interesting if it’d be done the same as the others.
I enjoyed it.
specially bc Callie has a "relationship" with music she always dance in the earlier seasons
I LOVED THIS EPISODE ❤❤❤

Wow. You must all live a perfect life.
When you listen this song on grey's death is around the corner.. 😏😏
Callie was coping. In her suffering all she could think of was music. She envisioned those she loved singing to her
This show is so powerful and greatly written. I would say it’s one of the greatest of all time but the fact that many characters left the show and it’s been going on for too long is what makes it just great. That’s why Breaking Bad was voted the best of the 21st century, perfect run, 5 seasons and no characters left the show, they just died and got written out.
That’s why at the beginning of this song she said “ calliope means music”
And she also danced alot during the series (sorry for the late answer lmao)
The way Callie envisioned owen singing was horrific I'm sorry
@@mackenziedevincent674 it was supposed to be
The way they did Callies out of body experience is so clever

I thought I would get bored with this ep but It’s one of my favorites. Callie’s brain is hallucinating all of this to cope with the pain and fear. Love Callie and Arizona, these were the real good times.
Never knew they made a musical episode so you can imagine how weirded out I was when they started singing out of no where 😐😂

Sara Ramírez, Kevin McKidd and Chandra Wilson did a great job with this song, I just love their voices together.
come on are you shitting me I love Greys Anatomy and then this episode came.. OMG they suck for you to say they have great voices is funny plus they probably lip synced ,I know i'm a musician and songwriter.SECOND I can't stand owen and we all knew a car crash was coming because Arizona wanted the baby to go away because she hated Mark..
Game of Death Secret Society they did lip sing in the episode but it is there voices and they recorded it before they filmed this episode. This episode is honestly my fav
Game of Death Secret Society: It's interesting that you think they "probably" lip synced, because if you LISTEN you can clearly hear that the singing voices belong to these actors. And Sara Ramirez can be found online singing and she does it quite beautifully. I think they all sound wonderful.
You're a musician and a songwriter? I don't think I've heard of you...
Arturo's Entertainment I agree
No matter how many times I watch this scene, I need a whole truck load of tissues. 😭😭😭 Especially when Bailey grabs Callie's hand & seeing everybody cry.

Well you fucking should
Of course Miranda is the best. She made this whole show. The depth and range of emotions that women can show is absolutely amazing. You feel every word when cry’s. She’s without a doubt the best actor on this show. It’s not even close. Every actor on here is good. But none of them are great at showing emotions. Everytime she cry’s I cry. Simply because you feel her pain. She makes you feel her pain
Her: *Dying*
The cast: iF i LaY hErE
is it bad that i laugh hard when she see owen singing and starts freaking out
It’s amazing how Kevin acts without his Scottish accent never mind sing without it!
Who got chills when sarah started singing??

It's Sara
Ngl, the cast sings better than I imagined 😂
Callie, Owen, and Bailey are all played by professional singers
I asked her to marry me, and a truck came out of nowhere... 😭
That made me crack up😂😂😂😂😂
I would have been cracking up. How could they keep a straight face with them singing doing a sad moment like that. That was so weird.
Rich Nun All the singing was done before hand, they we’re just lip syncing with no music playing. Like the way they do it in normal episodes.
Watch behind the scenes it’s funny they don’t actually sing they say jibberish during those scenes
One of the best scenes in this show. I know it's just a character role, but Callie has helped me out so much since watching her character development. Going through depression and having anxiety, I lost myself for the longest time. She has helped me start to get back to "dancing in my underwear." I fell in love with her character and how strong she is. ❤
I agree!
When Bailey and Owen sang together I lost it the flood gates opened
I hate everything about this show except for this scene. This is a masterpiece. What a stand place to find such a diamond in the rough.
This episode really hit in the feelings. They pass around each character singing and it just hits hard each time.
When Callie first started singing the theme song in like season one, honey I was jamming
I loved Callie, as the seasons went on she just got more beautiful
i always felt that way too!
10 years and still Arizona's breath in 4:24 makes me cry
iconic show. This played when my grandma was in the ICU. Brought me to tears. still does
Is no one gonna talk about how good Owen and literally everyone is singing
For all of the people talking as though this was a badly designed scene...despite knowing very little about the show, I'd say this was probably a well-designed scene. From my uninformed interpretation, the song is essentially either the patient or her (prospective?) fiancee retreating into mental and physical shock and beginning to hallucinate. My assumption is that the two doctors who begin singing are the two that mean the most to her for some reason (close friends or colleagues?). I think that the use of the music quite well illustrates the effect of an intense moment--the only thing that I think would have hit harder would have been a slow subtractive progression where the ER team's voices fade out, then the background noise fades out, then the immediate vicinity sounds fade out, until at 3:17 there is absolute silence until 4:22, when the defibrillation is effective and the heart is started again. Music and silence are both very powerful forms of aural communication, and I'd say that anyone who doesn't understand the power of this scene, even from an unfamiliar point of view, need to take a step back and learn more about sound design in storytelling.
that last “with” me that callie sings is EVERYTHING!
Hearing Miranda (I think I remember that’s her name) sing. Knowing her tough exterior just melted me. I was shaking I was sobbing so hard
This song can just pop up on the radio and I'm a ball of tears, every single time, the scene especially got to me when Baily started singing
This was heart wrenching when it premiered and the trauma that caused the tragic musical in her mind was so clever and reaching.
Also George's death. 😭
Thank you Shonda for these soul crushing episodes. I felt all of their pain. And made me appreciate being alive and whole. ❤
1:30 I was cracking up because it looks like she’s getting scared of him singing

This episode broke my heart into million of pieces!
I honestly don’t know how many times I’ve cried to this episode, I’ve lost count
ngl at first i was cringed out because this rlly didnt seem like the type of show but than i understood that callie loves music and that shes hallucinating but also trying to calm herself down this kinda made me cry because just hear the lyrics out fr like when i heard that one lyric "if i lay here, if i just lay here would you lay with me and just forget the world." really hit me deep.
The characters either break up, have sex, get together, or none or all of the above. The surgeries either all go well but the one right at the end goes very badly, or they all go really badly but one right at the end which was unlikely to go well does.
That sums up every episode of grey's.
I laughed so hart when Hunt startet singing because I didn’t know that it was a musical episode
As a doctor that detest these “medical shows” this video gave me the chills.
And then Arizona cheats on her like wtf after all they’ve been through 🙄
she had ptsd after the plane crash happened, it’s probably ONE of the reasons why. she’s emotionally unstable. but it’s not an excuse though
It shows how much you can go through hell with someone, yet shit can still happen.
The fact that this song played when Izzy found out that Denny died makes me cry even harder
Would personally love my doctors to sing a somber song while I'm dying.
This episode was epic! I've watched greys since day 1 and still watch it and this is still my fave episode
What episode?
Kevin McKidd (the actor who plays Owen) is Scottish. I love the fact that someone Scottish can both act and sing in an American accent.
P.s. I'm Scottish.

This episode has me in a chokehold
I still get goosebumps when she starts singing, I remember when my brother watched this show a while ago and I was 10 and honestly this traumatized but I remember I was sobbing because I felt what it was like to almost lose someone to a car accident (although for me it was losing someone)

Everything
On our own
We don't need
Anything

How to say
How I feel

If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life
Let's waste time
Chasing cars
Around our heads
I need your grace
To remind me
To find my own
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life
All that I am
All that I ever was
Is here in your perfect eyes, they're all I can see
I don't know where
Confused about how as well
Just know that these things will never change for us at all
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
